I decided to check at https://smcacre.gov/elections/my-election-info

My wife's ballot was received, but mine was not, even though I dropped it into the box right next to the election official.

WTF?

I'm sending an email to elections@sos.ca .gov">elections@sos.ca .gov

Hi,
I dropped off my ballot on election day at the voting center in the Menlo Park civic center area, between the police station and library downtown.

It was filled out, signed and dated. I dropped it in the box at the head of the line right in front of an election official, after confirming with her that it was the right place to put it.

On https://smcacre.gov/elections/my-election-info I now (on Nov 7th) see this:

Ballot Mailed Date: October 4th, 2024
Ballot Returned Date: Not Received
Ballot Status: Not Received

Please let me know what happened to my ballot and why it was not counted.

I will be publicizing your response at https://patrick.net/post/1382484/2024-11-08-my-ballot-was-not-counted

Thank you.

When my wife and I went and got paper ballots and filled them out, we were told to take them over to a box in front of some old fat dude who looked like they dug him out off a local bar stool. I just knew that our site printed ballots would not be counted because they know those are always Republicans but I never really checked. It was for the Newsom recall, and even the hippies in Santa Cruz wanted Newsom recalled. Of course, he wasn't. It was called really early too, so I imagine our ballots wound up in a fire some place.

This time, I said let's take the mail ballots to the drop box at city hall. At least we stood a chance of them being counted. Probably miscounted and misattributed, but at least counted.

Certified mail to the address where they have to sign upon delivery. Don't recall, but I think about $13. Pay the money. If it comes back not counted you have recourse. USPS take certified mail pretty damn seriously. Seizure aside I almost lost my job because of 2 fuck ups with certified mail.

Does CA really not have scanners AND paper ballots? That's kind of fucked up. For how corrupt IL is, we at least have a backup at any polling place I've been to. Scan for quick results and paper for a count if it's too close.

Mine still at "collected by USPS and will be delivered to your county soon" stage. But my lazy ass mailed it on Nov 4th.

I'm with @Wookieman - I took a picture of my filled-in ballot before I submitted it to the fraud machine.

It looked like you said early in October. Never vote early.

I didn't vote early. I voted in person on election day.

Also, they don't scan your ballot? We have electronic and a paper backup at my polling place. I'm also just not dropping it in a box without it being scanned.

They scan your ballot in front of you?

Got this today:

Good Morning Patrick,

Thank you for your email inquiry regarding the status of your ballot.

We have received, verified, and counted your ballot on 11/5/2024.

We are still in the process of reviewing and verifying the high volume of ballots that we had received on Election Day.

Thank you for checking with us directly.

Sincerely,

Huh, was it added to the "Accepted" pile only because I complained?
24   Ceffer   2024 Nov 8, 3:45pm

LOL! Maybe just and AI script that tells everybody their ballots 'accepted' whatever that means. We do it because we have to, we know the results are mostly pre-determined by machine fiat.

This is soooo sketch.

Forget about it Jake, it's Chinatown.

Yup, California's law prohibiting asking for any kind of ID is just an open invitation to massive fraud.

It's all sketch.

Yup. And I look them in the eye, didn't cover the ballot and said I voted for Trump. Polite guy that I vaguely know from town. He just smiled and gave me my sticker. I don't trust the electronics/scanning, but I have zero faith my paper ballot will ever get counted in person day of if not scanned.

Won't win IL, but the popular vote win is huge nationally. I want my vote counted. You do to Patrick obviously following up. It matters even if your state is a Dem cesspool. Mine is. I want to stick it to the fuckers though. Electoral, popular, senate and House. Get fucked. We won't. Cry on TV.

Where the millions of ballots cast in 2020 went is anyone’s guess.

Californias system is very very messed up.

Need to revert to in person or you have to request an absentee ballot that must be postmarked by Election Day. And must show ID to register and vote and must affirmatively register, not automatically be registered.

In 2020 supposedly 80% of voters voted and in OC it was 91%. Bullshit. I’m guessing not even 90% actually got to the correct voter.

LOL! May be close to the truth. Always Chinese (not looking like American born types) at the ballot printing presses of the polling place and that one severe apparatchik looking secretary glasses type white woman eagle eyeing everything going on (because they know they are doing wrong and she is the stiff to do damage control if necessary).

I imagine CCP action takes place at the polling stations, and the software California has used is alleged to have ties to China.

Remember the bizarre visit of Xi to San Francisco when they cleaned out the homeless overnight and put CCP flags down boulevards, but very little was reported in the press.

It's so obvious that California is on election lockdown with fraud. Maybe they allow a few things through (maybe selective to allay absolute suspicion), but legitimacy of elections was gone goose sometime in the 90's and its gotten progressively worse.

Yeah, makes me wonder how many ballots "were not counted" or "lost" in California and if there were enough to make it a competitive state instead of solid Democrat state, and more importantly, I'm thinking about the Congressional races still not decided.

The window for them to even be received is open till Nov 15th. And then there is another deadline for counting them. So you need to wait for all these deadlines to pass before starting to wonder how many were "lost".

My ballot was received and counted on Nov 12th. I sent it on Nov 4th.
