Originating thread ...

Ok, so it's now Christmas with the relatives. In other words, Claire's mum (who lives locally) & brother, who's coming in from Aberdeen. I've met with them separately and now, they'll be together for the holidays. Her dad past away a few years ago.

In addition, Claire's now feeling flush with cash and started splurging. Unfortunately, instead of it being on high end items (which could tag her as a regular, ordinary, materialistic woman), she simply ordered door-to-door livery service between her flat and the Brazilian Capoeira dojo in metro London, where she trains once a month, in addition to her regular kickboxing dojo in Cardiff.

She brought the computer with her and did some work during the 3 hr ride while having some drinks. No more buses or trains. Yes, that's my gal!

Unless I'm hammered I don't trust other people to drive. I've had limo drivers doze off and almost crash the car. Screw buses and trains though. I do NOT want to be around other people unless I know them.

When we go to Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican, etc. it's always a private transfer in a GMC Yukon type car to the resort/hotel/house none of that shared bus/van trash. One time I didn't realize it was a full bottle of Prosecco when I ordered the ride drinks. I got beer. Wife drank the whole bottle and was hammered going to an all inclusive.... It was hysterical. Kept it together but was pretty hammered when we got there. I told her you do know it's Mexico and the resort doesn't care.

Derailing this a bit, but I don't get the hate on Mexico. I've never felt unsafe. I do know our transfer service is run by the cartel for laundering. A small business doesn't have a fleet of dozens of $70k new cars in Mexico. But they're good people. Maybe not the ones that illegally come to America.

Domestically I'll pay for the parking. Cheaper than a limo and I'm in control. Other wise it's private transfer of some sort. I've stopped spending money. I haven't bought any new clothes in 2-3 year. I cycle the same outfits every 3 day considering I do laundry once a day with 3 kids and a wife that travels. Probably do 2-3 loads today when she gets home. Sorry, I'm rambling as usual. Early morning basketball practices and kids not waking up to their alarm.

Oh c'mon, I've used Boston Limo for a few years, when my company allowed me to expense all livery services, and I've never had a problem.

All and all, I've enjoyed it far than driving myself with all day stop and go traffic between downtown Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, etc. And I don't have to look for parking.

Maybe you got the not drunk ones. I've had bad luck state side. I'm surprised in Boston you didn't get a sleepy drunk driver. Then you can't say anything if they drive like shit. "I'm a professional driver" is all you'll get. With a livery plate, you're not getting pulled over. So that Yeti or coffee cup 9 out of 10 times has booze in it. Little coffee and a lot of coffee liquor. Can't smell it.

As I've aged, and people will disagree because they say they don't, but everyone drinks and drives. The only people that don't 100% abstain from alcohol. Though they may be getting high. I trust the Mexicans because of the cartel. They kill a gringo, they're dead.

But this is why I don't trust drivers. No clue if they've been drinking. No clue if they're going through a divorce. What stress they have. I'd rather drive myself. I've been successful for 25 years except for one cunt that pulled in front of me. Not a person on the planet could have avoided that bullshit. Left turns at traffic signals should all be by a red/green arrow. Fucking idiots think they can make it and that's what happened to me.

Limo drivers are generally losers is the point. You're doing 5am pickups to the airport and probably drank the night before. With Yeti type cups now I basically assume you're drinking booze. I'd rather just drive myself and pay for parking. Cheaper overall.

The point of this thread was not to argue over the merits of livery services.

It was to indicate that unlike a lot of women, when Claire's flush with cash, she simply does the same things but in a more efficient and luxurious manner. She could have easily driven to London and back, but that's 6 hrs in a car with her eyes on the road all of the time. And then, those 3 hrs at the Brazilian dojo would probably make her tired and then, she'd get a hotel room for a nightcap before coming home in the morning.

Instead, she's relaxed but "working" on her way there. Get in her exercise/fun learning fully alert but then, come home enjoying a Gin & Tonic, watching some videos on her computer.
5   Rin   2024 Dec 19, 11:39pm

She's also gotten two monthly parking passes, one next to her dojo, and the other, next to the theatre group that she's a part of.

Ok. So she's not working and could drive? And why and how is one driving 6 hours in Britain? Just did a map overlay of Britain on IL. Not sure if it will display correctly, but 3 hours one way to go to a gym? I don't care how much money you make. That just seems stupid to use a car service and that there's no gym closer. https://www.mylifeelsewhere.com/country-size-comparison/united-states/united-kingdom

A lot of this seems like bull shit if being honest. 6 hours and 3 hours at a dojo. That's easily a $1k a ride, probably more. Plus the money for the gym. Buy a plane at that point and fly there if she's so extravagant. 1+1 is not equaling 2 in your story. Based on the time it would be cheaper to fly from London to the "dojo" on a small private plane. Still could work. Quicker to drink more gin.

Might be far fetched, but I think you're testing out a fiction novel you are or plan on writing. This is not a realistic scenario or logical. You'd be a common retard to sit in a car for 6 hours to go to a gym. And 3 hours at the gym? You fly a chopper or plane and do an hour or two max at the gym. 3-4 hours total. Not 9. Sorry if it pisses you off, but my BS meter is at 100%.

Stop being such a wanker.

I said for Brazilian Capoeira which is an 'ethnic' Brazilian thing and where's the land of ALL ethnicities in Great Britain ... greater London, not Wales (including cities like Cardiff, Newport, Swansea). And no, to fly from Cardiff airport to one of London's and then, take a taxi is roughly the same time. She did it once and I encouraged it.

Before, many of her trips to London were by train. And then, she used the Tube to get from the centre city to her final destination.

And yes, there are plenty of gyms, dojos, and basketball courts throughout Cardiff. And she's already got the parking passes for that.

WookieMan says

she's not working

Apparently, you've never run any backtests on any servers? You don't know the difference between 'hard' computer work (design/coding/debugging) and going through the motions to collect data. All work is important but one can do some of it, while chilling out on a road trip.

When I was using my livery service in Boston, I was mostly on the phone with clients and using the computer to verify presentations, meeting notes, etc. None of it was hard but it did require me ... not looking at the road. And if you think 3 hours is bad, imagine stop & go traffic, all day long where in effect, you're within the same 20 square miles.

Why? Have admin handle it. If you can't get good people working for you, you're doing it wrong. Fine, sit in the car, but you shouldn't be working if you're good at your job and making money.

My wife's branch brings in $7M cash, not financed or anything. She golfs 30-40 rounds a year, holiday party season now, travels the country in high end hotels for conferences. We go annually and spend a weekend on a 58' boat. She might take a call, but she's not really working.

The computer work is trivial. That should be handed off to subordinates. That's why I'm not buying this. I'm friends with the head developer that built the JP Morgan investment site update about 5 years ago. If Claire is doing actual computer work, she's not a rich bitch, she's got money from mom and dad or something. If you're going to a dojo, take the day off if you're successful.

Tread lightly is all I'll say as someone with a rich bitch that earned it. She doesn't need to work in the car. Just take the day off. Again another red flag. We vacation 30-60 days a year roughly. She doesn't work on vacation. Given computer work, I'm not buying the story dude. If you work on a ME day, you aren't a big deal.

That's BS because, subordinates know nothing about algo trading. There's a lot to the whole concept of market timing, dollar cost averaging, adaptive hedging, which a subordinate knows nothing about.

And I know a lot of jokers at places like JPM, M&S, etc ... I'm not impressed. Think more like a startup enterprise.

A person who's going from $100K/yr to $1M/yr will always be working, even if it's in her sleep.

You're little more than just a troll on my threads.

No I'm not trolling. If you make $1M/yr and need to work in a car, sorry, not buying it. You have people for that. I don't care if you believe me or not. Wealthy people don't work in cars.

There's no point in me lying. My uncle is worth 9 figures. He's probably in the top 100-500 in the state of AZ for an individual. Not going to dox him. Another family friend was worth 10 figures. I'm a county club brat. I know wealth. I am wealthy. They don't work dude. You can make a conference call while driving and have your associate manage follow up.

Well you didn't train them. Somehow you learned. So that's a failure, so you know it and no one else does? This isn't troll. This is business 101 if you want passive income. If you can make $1M you shouldn't be doing the actual work. Managing at worse from afar by phone. Again, it's why I don't buy your stories.

Make me #11 on ignore if you want. I'm not wrong.

Why would I train anyone? I have a vendor which host my servers 7x24 and a second vendor which verifies the flow of orders between accounts. Those are the only vendors I require.

The code that Claire and I have created is already making money for us. We simply always look to improve which is why we put continuous effort into it like some 20-25 hrs/week.

The only reason why there are even prop(rietary) trading firms out there is that the principal directors need others to make money for them. Many are not up to snuff and thus, using your own principle there, make money off other people's labor. The fact that I can make periodic adjustments and still get high hit ratios is why it's called Proprietary 'Black Box' Trading and yes, you can talk to quants out there and most will never divulge their trade secrets. As a matter of fact, most are under NDAs.

That's right because you spend all of your time on PatNet, fighting with others about EVs & Bitcoin. For me, that's like showing up and arguing about Baklava vs peanut crisps for the masses. I guess that makes you a true country club sh*thead ... I mean brat.

Sorry, but I'll stick to my middle class ways. I'll order livery when I want and won't divulge my trade secrets to insipid assistants who'll take it to their next client.

They already are... you are not a monopoly dude. Other people can do what you do. Middle class is $70k at best individual income. So is that what you make? Your stories here don't match up my friend. Sorry I'm questioning you. I'm not a fish, I don't just take the bait. Again, your math doesn't add up.

You talk about $1M income and livery (limos) yet call yourself middle class? Middle class and paying $1k for one ride is not middle class. Your stories have always been ridiculous. No one ever called you out on them. For that I'm now a troll? You lie.

I won't deny you know trading because it's not in my realm, but so do millions of other people on this planet. You're not special. Whores in Montreal? Alanis Morissette the most basic brunette on the planet? Now Claire. Dude, we know you're lying. I don't ignore users, but feel free to ignore me. I'm calling out the shit that has been BS for the better part of 8 years by you.

You go from women, to fucking dolls, back to women. Your track record is shit and you know it. And if you're telling the truth I predict 100% you get burned by Claire. I'd be open to a bet on it. You went from women to fucking a life sized barbie. Mental stability is not your strength. I wouldn't trust you on a bet though either. I'm not trolling either. Called truth my friend. And you know it.

Bitcoin and EV's are bullshit. Funny, you don't comment on those threads??? Somehow read them though? I'm the shit head though? Let me know how. Enlighten me. Let me know where I've been wrong. I've conceded when I've been wrong. I don't care, it's an internet forum. I don't lie. That's the key. You do.

Great, so this is the test ... my false friend, since you're not really neither a friend nor an acquaintance. If in the next year, Claire walks out of me, then I'll declare the great WookieMan a victor against a man with twice his intelligence and know-how.

But I think you're little more than a troll, trying to best me. I hope one day, before senior citizen status ... you grow ill and die. And then, don't worry, I won't come up with a list of supplements to assist in your recovery.
