Buried on Page 86 of Stopgap Spending Bill: Congress Extends Pandemic Emergency Powers, Biodefense Secrecy, and Pharma Privileges Through September 2025

Congress looks to extend emergency powers and secrecy over high-containment laboratories in stopgap funding bill.

The U.S. House of Representatives is voting on this bill today.

These laws give the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) and other top federal officials sweeping, unilateral powers over the American people in the event of a declared—or even a potential—public health emergency. Under these authorities, the federal government can declare emergencies, deploy federalized medical teams, lock down communities, roll out mass vaccination campaigns, and fast-track the use of unlicensed drugs and vaccines. Even state personnel can be reassigned to serve federal priorities.

Congress didn’t just extend emergency powers. Lawmakers also renewed legal authority for total secrecy over government-funded pandemic research, countermeasure development, and the activities of high-containment biolabs working with dangerous pathogens. Americans will remain locked out of knowing where these labs are, what viruses they’re working on, and how vulnerable the nation’s defenses really are.

And if that wasn’t enough, Congress re-upped special antitrust exemptions that allow Big Pharma and government agencies to coordinate in secret on the manufacture, distribution, and stockpiling of pandemic countermeasures—without any public oversight and without the usual competition laws that prevent monopolies.

These laws weren’t passed during a national emergency. They weren’t rushed through during a new pandemic. Congress extended them as part of a temporary funding measure—a 99-page continuing resolution designed to keep the government’s lights on. And buried in the fine print were provisions that give unelected bureaucrats sweeping powers over your life, your health, and your freedom.

They buried all of this in dense legalese—referencing the Public Health Service Act (here)—on page 86 of the continuing resolution stopgap bill.

Massie - tough rules for Trump, big leeway for McCarthy and Biden

Show me some proof of the difference.

I got the impression that Massie always votes no on spending increases.

Trump says he needs it, then he needs it. Trump has been hamstrung, thwarted, and second guessed at every turn. Especially by turn coat RINOs.
My trust level for Trump at this point, is ten fold what it is for Massie. The CR bill passes every year, and it hasn't killed the world yet. Now is not the time to be playing the sensible person against Trump. Trump deserves the CR passed, then the time to criticize will be if he does four years, and we're not reflecting on any brilliant maneuvers that came out of it.

This isn't any ordinary CR bill. Closing the government is pointless at this point, as DOGE is whittling it down, but by not passing the CR, then much of Trump's auxiliary efforts that supports everything DOGE does, may also get axed. Now DOGE knows how Congress and Pork operates, perhaps Trump is setting tracking on the CR. By monitoring where the money is going, will build his case when DOGE starts cutting whole agencies and their budgets.

It's time Trump get's 100% support, and quit with the second guessing. Let them man finish one Goddamn song, without interrupting him, and killing the PA.

He does so much with so much opposition and stifling of his efforts. Just imagine what he can do, if we let him accomplish his whole agenda, and stop cutting him off as soon as he's making astonishing results.

I mean at this point, even if only 20% of his agenda only gets done, and the other 80% failed not due to any opposing forces, but those decisions, not netting the expected result naturally. It would still be a better performance than any President in the last 50 to 60 years.

Fuck Massie!

Massie was part of a larger operation.
The Social media blowing up with fickle Trump Larpers bitching about Trump, and kissing Massie's ass.
Even in the Gateway and Breitbart article discussions. So much of it going on, it just reeks of regretful Trump voters, canard the unemployed NGOs are running.

Massie's part of it somehow, my spidey senses are never wrong.

It would have be axed. Rosa DeLauro and Dollar Store Obama Jeffreys already were on the MSM circuit this week gleefully rubbing their hands at a possible Republican fight that would kill Trumps momentum leading to a shutdown that would prevent DOGE from continuing to work on IDing waste and abuse.

government spending is the permanent inflation, which fucks the working class

Well Catturd seems to confirm my above suspicions, as well does the replies.

LOL, even Grok3/Deep Search has a hard time parsing Congressional Bills. I did a verification and found it was counting bills that had nothing to do with expenditure at all.

There were a ton of like 54 follower accounts that hadn't posted in months or years suddenly reply guying starting February 24th. All on Massie and the CR.

Something like half the replies to Catturd and Unseen and DC Draino were bot-like/troll-ish accounts with an overweening focus on one or two issues.

Probably boiler room/bot farm accounts:

"Yes, we have the order from Wichita come in hour ago, please to have contract."

Only one of these men has gotten big things done

...despite being shot, impeached, having his home raided, property siezed, and subject to the greatest media smear campaign in generations.

The other one is a 12+ year Congressman who is famous for saying "NO" a lot and bragging what a libertarian he is on twitter.
14   Tenpoundbass   @   2025 Mar 11, 6:28pm

This guy is an idiot and seems to be part of the Massie operation network.
This moron is trying to say that there was some conspiracy against Massie to remove him. Rather than what it was, Massie putting himself in a position to oppose Trump and vote in contrary to his record, by voting no on a CR. Also nothing about what Massie did has nothing to do with anything else Massie claims to have stood for. This asshole also said Massie was only one calling Bullshit on Covid. That is a lie, many GOP congress people were, the RINOs were lockstep in making it uncomfortable and unpopular to do anything about it. DeSantis blinked first, anyone says otherwise, is just rewriting History.

See if you can find the actual Tweet from Massie.
18   Patrick   @   2025 Mar 11, 11:29pm

Doesn't it seem odd that there's a sudden rush of discoveries just now about things Massie supposedly said, and that there are never any quotes in context with a link back?

Feels like the CIA turned its info-warfare cannon against the one guy opposed to eternal spending increases.
