The government by accumulating so much debt, and by giving away free money causing inflation.

I say the answer is to use silver by weight as currency, never "dollars" or other bullshit units that can be continuously redefined.

So our unit should be the pound of silver, 0.9999 pure.

Everything else should be marked "Not money, only a debt, MAY DEFAULT".

Silver because it is practical for everyday use, unlike gold.

People say that, but always default to the have a bank option.

Ever try to buy a Boeing 737 with silver ???

Also, if you think you have problems with Nigs on the BART nowadays...imagine having people carrying around their whole paycheck as cash on them.

That's what the £ was originally set.

d/s/£ = denarius/solidus/libram

Then the English borrowed that ratio from the Carolingians. It's why the Pence symbol is (d), not p.

Or d for "dumbass" for today's Pence.

The king of Smaltz did the same thing but he used a shorter measurement stick to raise prices.

Banks are fine if you're either paying for storage of the metal or accepting some of the bank's risk in return for an interest payment.

There is no guarantee that your hoarded precious metals are "safe" in a bank "safe" deposit box. I could tell you stories.
