Nashville is a shit hole. I know we have a somewhat active user in the area, can't remember their username. Broadway is a pile of shit. Bars with people shoulder to shoulder drunk as fuck. You can even get a drink. It's turning more into NOLA or Austin. It's a place to get shit faced and that's it. Oh and listen to trash music by amateurs.

And yes, maybe 1 in 1,000 make it big(ish) out of Nashville, but it's really not a music city. It's just where people go thinking they have something. Taylor Swift grew up in Pennsylvania. The city gets it music reputation from outsiders. Then dip shits come in for Bachelorette parties thinking it's some nexus of country music.

Unless you're young and single to visit to get laid by some whore, I guess fine. Now you got illegals there. It's not a big city. Given country music and is mostly conservative I could see tourism dropping by 5-10%. Illegals don't have money. Big hit to the local economy if they allow them in.

Yup. Same with people that move to Nashville. They come back home and talk normal. I'll mock my Canadian BIL, but I don't speak like that 99% of the time. It's the same when I go south. I have a classic and clean dry midwest accent. I don't even have a Chicago accent. You pick that up when you're a child learning to speak.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued subpoenas to the government of California over allegations that the state has been giving federal tax dollars to illegal aliens.

On Monday, DHS subpoenaed the state seeking records related to alleged disbursements of cash benefits for illegals.

ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) office in Los Angeles filed the subpoenas this week.

They are targeting the state’s Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI). ...

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem criticized California politicians in a statement, saying:

“Radical left politicians in California prioritize illegal aliens over our own citizens, including by giving illegal aliens access to cash benefits.

“The Trump Administration is working together to identify abuse and exploitation of public benefits and make sure those in this country illegally are not receiving federal benefits or other financial incentives to stay illegally.” ...

The investigation comes more than a month after a separate study found that California is funneling billions of federal taxpayer dollars into paying for illegal immigrants.

The Economic Policy Innovation Center (EPIC) report drew a line between California’s Medicaid provider taxes and what, on paper, appears to be nearly $4 billion in state funding going toward illegal immigrants’ healthcare and other initiatives.

However, that funding is actually coming from the federal government, according to EPIC, via reimbursements to California.
