Sometimes, it's deliberate. Let them stew. Very Torunaga (Shogun, the Book)

It is deliberate. He is a sharp. And ruthless. Imo.

Elon is carpet-banning Twatter users who disagree with him on the H1B issue.

Trump should talk specifically about imposing a high wage requirement for H1B visas.

But as usual, Trump does not speak clearly enough.

Oh Patrick

He's backpedalling after getting a new asshole ripped on Twatter.

This reads like that 90s paper did that I can't find anymore on the interwebs. Interestingly, someone I worked with in biotech sent it to me back in the day.

Its about management of people/society, as Edward Bernays, the pioneer and author of modern Propaganda said.

The National Science Foundation published a secret report in the late 80s TRYING to push down the cost of PostDocs... H1B was the result.

American born and trained engineers are substantially better. One friend is retiring in January. He's got nationally recognized projects in road building.

The Hoover dam is just cool though. Been there about 5-6 times. Did the tour inside as a kid. Was there when the new bridge was being built. I can't even comprehend the engineering behind that build. Needed to be done though. I wasn't driving, but I can at least say I rode across the top of it in a car.

Aren't most H1B's tech sector anyway? I haven't met a infrastructure engineer from India or China. I know one Asian in that field, but he's an American citizen.
197   gabbar   2024 Dec 30, 5:36am

This cannot be America, this cannot be happening in America, no American can participate in this and call himself/herself American. If President Trump cares (he has already spoken in support of H1B), he should shut down H1B on January 20th and then revisit the program with Elon, Homan, Vivek etc.

Tons in biotech. They can work as academic slave labor, but are always trying to get industry to sponsor them for a better paying job. Industry does not need them. There are plenty of qualified citizens looking for work.

Nope. Because there isn't just a defined concentrated 'tech sector' anymore.

Like IT. H1B visa abuse is rife in an average non-tech sector firm's IT department. Famous case was a bunch of Disney parks IT folks forced to train their H1B replacements then shit canned.

There are IT departments in agriculture, retail, real estate, etc. now. And they all abuse the H1B bullshit.

The historical parallels with Roman plebes getting the can after Roman elites flooded the country with skilled slaves (nobody gave a rat's ass about the unskilled labor coming in - not even the plebians) are amazing to what is happening today.

BTW, the 13th Amendment banned indentured servitude as well as slavery.

Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

And the H1B relationship is classic indentured servitude.

Most Indians are smarter dirtier versions of Hispanics but for tech sectors. Lowering wages across the board, then only bring in their own kind with their own culture.

It's straight up exploitation on all sides and needs to end.

If this somehow ends up in front of SCOTUS the shit is open and shut. The question is how can it happen.

It took me less than 20 minutes to skim the whole thing. I didn't find anything about requirement for digital ID there. It relies on user reporting to determine who's minor and who's not and set the platform policies accordingly.

That "TheQuartering" cunt is stirring up shit for some purpose.

Of course he is. And 80hrs a week counting your money and figuring how to make more != putting the silver wrappers on Hershey Kisses at the factory for 80hours.

The former is a lot more fun and enjoyable.

I looked it up. Legal definition of indentured servitude is a contract to work for a single employer for a predetermined period without pay.

They are paid, so they are not IS.

Likely lying. Depends on the work as well. I'd have no problem sitting at a computer or talking to people for 80 hours a week. I did it. Life is miserable and you get burned out mentally. A blue collar job, hell no. Not happening outside of a one off week during a job deadline. Your body would shut down if you did that for 4-6 weeks. Something like concrete labor.

Indians as far as H1B are weird though. They'll just work 12-14 hours, but talk on the phone all the time. I can't recall ever going into an Indian run gas station where they weren't talking on the phone with someone. Usually on speaker. I'm guessing it's the same in IT/tech with them. Ear buds in just talking to one of the 1B plus buddies back home.

This is what I've heard from several IT managers in the 90s and 2000s. They spend at least half the time on the phone, probably getting instructions from their cousin back in South Asia how to do the job they were hired to do.
