Competitive victimhood (CV) is the belief or assertion that one's own group has suffered more than a rival group, often to maintain group cohesion, justify actions, and resist conflict resolution.

It arises in contexts of conflict and inequality, where groups, or individuals within them, use narratives of suffering to assert moral superiority and deny responsibility for harm from violence.

This dynamic perpetuates conflict and hinders reconciliation by creating a cycle of reciprocal claims of victimhood.

Maybe we need cage fights between 'victims' who feel aggrieved at the competition from other victims. May the best victim win.

Victimization is an attempt at becoming a successful permanent parasite.

I read a great quote somewhere about "the poor Armenians, always the silver medalists in the victimization Olympics."

Their genocide gets no respect and few movies.

The book Holocaust Cinema Complete (2021) analyzes 400 films about the Holocaust, covering global productions up to the early 2020s.

IMDb lists (e.g., "Films about the Armenian Genocide") feature 21 entries.
