This is AXIS San Jose - brand new condos.

http://www.axissanjose.com/

They have been doing a 3.99%  APR loan for months.  Every month,  I get a 'last chance to get in' email from them.

any one know any thing more about this property?

I just added a "county data" link to all the Property Gossip pages. Look on this page just above your post. That at least will get you to a site that has links to all the correct county offices. Not that those county offices are all that helpful.

Note that the "county data" link requires javascript to work. Let me know if it doesn't work for you.

Also, I'd really love to hear suggestions on the best places to find out more about a particular property like this. Zillow? MLS? What's best?

I use Redfin for scanning areas and seeing what else is there, and looking at satellite views of streets and looking for open houses/etc.

If I'm even vaguely interested in a house, I use PropertyShark to get the more detailed info.

You have to have realtor level access at the MLS to get canceled listings info, however. Again, another attempt to keep some 'value' to having an agent with you.

Redfin and Trulia are best.

There are about 3 high rises in dt area with several more around st james park.
Last I heard they did slash the prices on the Axis and the 360, but not that much.
They all went up at a bad time... for the developer that is and prices are still too high for what you get.

flash back.. they started up at around over 500K as i recall.. then dropped to 400s.
I wouldnt be suprised to hear that many of the units are vacant. After all its DT and pretty
dead after 5PM

Got a mail from them for a TEASER LOAN:

2.5% for first year
3.5% for second year
4.5% for the 3-30 years fixed

2Bed + 2Bath starting only from $475k... ooooh!

Jeeze, as far as teaser loans go, that's not horrible. 4.5% max is better than most regular 30 year loans. They must be hurting to shoehorn people into that place.
