That could be an oven mitt if you hollowed out the middle and lost the legs. Oven Mitt Romney!

Is the exoneration in the room with you right now swallows?

Just what is it about the exoneration that frightens you?
108241   HeadSet   2020 Feb 6, 1:12pm

Because the Senate "trial" has a predefined penalty, lots of Senators explained their vote of "not guilty" by saying that it should be up to the voters.

As in, "If you do not like what the President did, vote him out. There was no crime committed."

I see that he decided that getting back at Trump was more important than future of his country. What a loser.

He certainly wasn't exonerated in the common usage of the word.

exonerated
adj. same as exculpated.
adj. Freed from any question of guilt, acquitted.
v. Simple past tense and past participle of exonerate.

Words have meaning.

There is no office of exoneration, there is only the office of Justice.

See! In America you're innocent, always Innocent, not assumed, it's not inferred it is just the way it is.
The only way your freedom can be taken away from you is to be found "Guilty" of a crime.

That's just how the United States works. It's why all of the foreigners want to come here so bad.

So educate yourself, so you're not so embarrassing to the rest of us.

And that will be the leading message why we need to elect Republicans to take back the majority of the House so Congress can work on important things like reforming entitlements and funding infrastructure.

In the meantime, I am looking forward to Trump appointing hundreds of more judges over the next 5 years.

The Corona virus, so far, has been about 20x more effective deadly than the typical yearly flu on a per-person basis. i.e.: 20 out of 1000 people who catch corona die whereas only 1 out of 1000 who catch typical yearly flu die.

We're still not sure how contagious Corona virus is, or, specifically, how it jumps to new victims. If it manages to spread to 10 million or 20 million people (remember, there is no vaccine), that could mean 200k to 400k people dead. Actually, if it spreads quickly to 20 million people it might overwhelm hospitals and then be even more deadly than the current 2%.

The 2% is likely quite exaggerated since you don't catch all the infection with minor symptoms or no symptoms which of course contribute to the spread. You only catch the very sick. Outside of China only 1 person died so far out of what 300, so it would be 0.33% mortality rate. Also R0 is believed to be around 2-2.5 not 4 like previously reported or feared. It's still very contagious and nothing to take easy but it seems like the US and most other countries have been taking the right (drastic) measures so far ti curb/contain the spread.

The situation in China is not looking much better so far - the travel restrictions, bans, and quarantines should stay in place until it subsides.

I hope you are right. On the flip side, do you really trust the accuracy of China's reporting? Perhaps there are many more people sick than stated. Perhaps some people are dying but not being reported (this was apparently the case early on).

I think the biggest risk is that is spreads to an underdeveloped country/region with many people and then is surely there to stay. If all countries would have the same heath care and safety measures as the Western countries it would probably not pose a big threat. The again, under-developer countries may take drastic, inhuman measures if nothing else helps. We shall see, but at lest cases in Europe and the US are very low. The US has the additional advantage of controlling the points of entry, nobody can walk across the ocean.

This got me thinkng...What (if anything) could one do to prepare... even if this one doesn't spread far and wide here in the states... what would / could I do if I were in similar situation?

Enjoy life is my motto. Don't worry about this shit for the most part. If it's going to kill you, it's going to kill you. Can't enjoy life in a sealed bunker eating shit food. You're much more likely to be killed by a lightening strike or some random kid in your neighborhood shooting an arrow straight in the air and it landing on your head at this point. Way too much hype at this point.

If you're seriously worried about it, your best defense is taking care of yourself physically. Exercise, eating good foods, cleanliness, etc. If reports are true, it's killing the weak. Don't be weak would be my advice.

The Flu isn't the sickness, it's the people who want to control and quarantine 50.000.000 people because a few thousand people got sick.

The world is watching a different scourge than what is really ravishing the world. People are going to need a gun not a flu shot, before this over.

We don't know shit about this hoax bug. Usually by now, we have heard from people that have had it. There isn't a list of symptoms, not a consistent one.
They haven't even released names of any of the victims or interviewed their family and friends or nothing. If they said 10 people were sick and in the hospital you drive by every day.
Are you not going to want to know who in your neighborhood got sick, so you can best deal with how concerned you should be. What if one of those people was your cook at Apple Bee's last night?

I call Bullshit, and the smell gets stronger every day.

Stock up on zinc lozenges and especially Elderberry syrup. Elderberry is remarkably effective against all sorts of virus infections. We use it whenever we feel like we are starting to feel sick, and often the symptoms will abate after taking it! I’ve killed several colds and flu just with that: it kills off much of the viral load and sort of resets the virus. But your immune system is already working on antibodies to the threat, so often by the time the virus has time to replicate again, the antibodies are ready and your system can defeat it easily.
Elderberry for the win!

In fact, the yield curve almost always predicts it and this is no different than any other time. My prediction is after the elections in Nov.

I sit by a guy who's hometown is in the next provence from Wuhan. He says it's way worse than reported and yes, people are dying in homes and being under reported. He's worried about his elderly mom but his brother is there.

He's a bio-scientist and uses Chinese language sites to get updates. He has essentially the same number reported on the John Hopkins website but hours earlier. Says the numbers being reported are, "Being managed".

Every few days he say, "It should start to flatten out soon/now". Lately you can tell by his voice that he has no confidence in that. Would suck to have family over there.

Federal Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia crumbled seven years after hosting its Totalitarian Olympics in Sarajevo.

Third Reich was destroyed nine years after its Berlin Totalitarian Olympics.

Soviet Union collapsed eleven years after hosting the Moscow Totalitarian Olympics.

Showpiece Totalitarian Olympics are a huge undertaking, huge expense. The regime is at its Peak of Arrogance to put on such a spectacle.

Once peaked, there's only one direction to go.

That would actually make 'em a bit smart. Remember, the North Vietnamese Army, after the US stopped re-supplying the South, did win in Saigon.

If State Street were in a similar situation, not only will the South beat 'em with 1/3 of the firepower, but will also make Hanoi into the next Las Vegas.

No, State Street is quite possibly, the dumbest big company in existence. If it weren't for all the silos in that house, you could automate 80% of the work over there, even w/o any AI or ML tools.
