I remember that kid. Smooshed his face with her tweetee and locked his jaw. EMT tried kicking him in the face for a half hour to try to dislodge it.

When his jaw finally snapped shut, he bit off several fingers of one of the first responders. They called it a shark attack to cover it all up.

Race is the 800 lb gorilla that few want to talk about.. and the idea of making a difference and the world a bit better is admirable.

Let's talk... what can/should we do and how best to do it?

Huh? When have we ever stopped talking about race?

The 800 lb gorilla that few want to talk about is that the vast majority of the African American community refuses to form 2 parent households and raise their children.

There is no amount of government welfare, reparations, affirmative action, defunding the police or BLM rioting that can make up for generations of fatherless black children born to guaranteed poverty and crime.

I sure wish the Black leaders and celebrities like John Lewis used their platform and stature to encourage family formation in their communities instead of blaming generational poverty on a few bad or racist cops.

The right answer is to stop talking about race.

It's pointless inflammatory division, and accomplishes less than nothing. All these "discussions" have set us back decades in the last few months.

STOP TALKING ABOUT IT

We will all be far better off.

Really, everyone should just STFU about race for the sake of humanity.

I have no problem with talking about providing better education and police for poor AMERICANS as long as that includes all poor AMERICANS, not any one specific group demanding special attention for the color of their skin alone.

Florida has over 1000 people a day moving to the State. We'll survive. How do you know that 100 of those 1000 people coming in a day aren't importing CV19 to make Desantis look bad?

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/coronavirus-florida-covid-deaths-record-third-day-straight/

Florida reported 253 new COVID-19 related deaths on Thursday. The fatalities mark the third day in a row that the Sunshine State has reported its highest single-day death toll during the pandemic.

The Florida Department of Health on Tuesday reported 186 new deaths due to COVID-19. The next day, that number jumped to 216. Both records were eclipsed Thursday when 9,943 additional COVID cases were also confirmed by the state's department of health.

More than 6,300 people in Florida have now died from the disease, according to data collected by Johns Hopkins University. There are more than 460,000 cases across the state, and over 26,000 hospitalizations. This comes as the U.S. is fast approaching 4.5 million total cases and at least 151,0...

Call me when their death total is even half of New York City's.
112682   socal2   2020 Jul 31, 8:09am

Makes sense considering Florida's peak infection rate was about 2 weeks ago.

And as others have pointed out, Florida will still only have a fraction of the deaths that occurred in Democrat run states like New York. Believe New York was running 10,000 deaths a day at their peak.

Florida successfully flattened the curve to give their hospitals and health officials time to prepare and didn't have a Democrat retard like Cuomo running the State putting infected COVID patients into nursing homes.

@APOCALYPSEFUCKisShostakovitch put aside politics for one moment and look at all of the studies ever done:

https://c19study.com/

Read what this Yale epidemiologist has to say:

https://publichealth.yale.edu/news-article/26218/

The overwhelming evidence shows that HCQ + Azithromycin + zinc literally works 100% of the time to prevent death if given EARLY.

If you conflate studies which give HCQ when the patient already has pneumonia with those that don't, then you're just wrong.

I'm sorry, it's hard to admit, but think of it this way if it makes you feel better: "Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn now and then."

You don't have to support Trump, but literally all scientific evidence shows that you, yourself, are wrong, and contributing to the unnecessary deaths of tens of thousands of people at a minimum by letting your ego get in the way of saving lives.

Please. Just stop, turn around, and help save lives. You'll sleep better. It's the right thing to do.

I’m curious why Florida is being highlighted when it’s not remotely close to having the highest death rates.

And I’ve heard nothing about Massachusetts or Illinois.

AF, why aren’t you concerned about those states with multiples higher death rates?

That's because Soros and the DNC machine put so much money and resources into stopping Republican Convention, then Trump pulled the rug out from under their Devil Worshiping Festival they were going to host outside the RNC. It's just a shame to shift focus now, besides all of the Liberal leadership's brains are riddled with drugs that wont allow critical thinking.

Trump is going to announce a new location just days before the RNC, because that's how organized and resourceful We are. Soros on the other hand needs months of heads up to marshal his minions to come shit on everyone. By time they can say "Fuck!" the RNC will be over and a memorable smashing success.

mark my words it's going to be hilarious.

Just do the right thing. This pandemic can be over tomorrow.

I can only imagine how hard it is to support HCQ now, after it has been dismissed and ridiculed over and over.

A lot of people now have an awful dilemma. It will be painful to admit that HCQ works if given early before pneumonia sets in, but it's also painful to let so many thousands of people die without need.

No way to know for certain, too much politics and not enough objective analysis. “Official numbers” are riddled with doubts of conflict of interest on so many levels.

Plus, how many lives could have been saved with early use of Hydroxychloroquine/zinc cocktails (meaning give them at first sign of infection) and steroids like dexamethasone?
112694   theoakman   2020 Jul 31, 8:42pm

You neglected to predict massive demonstrations where hundred of thousands of people held hands and spit all over each other.

It's normal to see a rise in states that have not been affected much prior, doesn't necessarily mean the lockdown or lack thereof is responsible for it.

The states that are coming down are due to a combination of the shutdowns plus building a % of immunity. Most states haven't built a significant % of immunity so that's why they're still going up. Loosening shutdowns will make infections rise, but it'll be about 2 weeks before this is visible in cases and almost 3 weeks until a change in fatalities.

There were only a few days with deaths over 1k so far since the first wave and even those are less than half of the peak deaths during the first wave, despite much "higher" daily cases (testing bias). Obviously we are testing the crap out of it with some counties already having tested 25-30% of the population. At this point it's meaningless and the cat has been our of the bag since Jan/Feb already. They should open up everything with hygiene protocols/recommendation (could be left up to the owner) for indoors and larger outdoor gatherings. The lockdowns don't have much effect on Covid and the devastating long term economic consequences and lives lost due to suicide, depression, drug use and not being able or afraid to see your MD are far worse than the Covid deaths of mostly very old and immunocompromised people. Plus in early stages its very treatable with HCQ et al but people are being sacrificed for leftoid politics and TDS.

Actually you may be right in this specific case as all Western countries pretty much observe the same curves, proving that non military lockdowns don't help much. However even if you believe that China's numbers aren't royally fudged, the general life expectancy in communist countries is lower than in the Western world and Covid won't even make a dent in the numbers. So you not only live better but also longer in non communist countries on average, Covid or not. And in the end military lockdowns only delay infections and deaths at a much higher price.
112698   Patrick   2020 Jul 31, 10:21pm

Well, you're just wrong about that @APOCALYPSEFUCKisShostakovitch

I don't suppose you actually looked at any of the studies at https://c19study.com/ right? There are 66 now. If you can read English, you can understand them.

What are they odds that they are wrong in aggregate? Seem pretty damn low at this point.

HCQ + azith + zinc would save tens of thousands of lives if given EARLY.

This is science, and from all over the place.

I'm starting to believe that deaths in China really are that low.

Because they use HCQ early in the course of the disease.

Dr. Joseph Varon, the chief medical officer of United Memorial Medical Center said he is afraid he will soon face a dilemma many doctors elsewhere said they confronted earlier in the pandemic -- deciding who to save.

"I'm afraid that at some point in time I'm going to have to make some very serious decisions," he told Reuters in an interview. "I'm starting to get the idea that I cannot save everybody."

How in the living fuck is this a “report”?!?!?

“Will soon”, “afraid”, “starting”....

Recklessly fraudulent reporting by the msm...in this case ABC....note it is not run as an opinion piece. It’s run as news reporting.

Might as well go quote the bum on the corner. Absolutely despicable.
