There is so much evidence of the slide to fascism

Trump left office when he "lost." He administered the best economy in 2 decades. His personality sucks. His policy was great for Americans. If that's fascism give me more.

I'll take a brash A-hole New Yorker over the guy we got now. Trump was a Democrat and I find it funny that Democrats don't know that fact. He took the path of least resistance against Hillary and "became" a Republican. You'll look back on this and regret your hatred for Trump.

Besides his personality, what did Trump do during his 4 years that was bad?

I'll start. His Covid response was god awful. He was heavy handed because little twerp Fauci and annoying voice Birx led him astray and likely intentionally. We should be open today and living normally, but he fed into people that want Americans dead from a mild virus and to help a senile old man win an election.

Trump’s personality doesn’t suck.

Maybe guys think that his reaction to lies, insults and bullshit should be polite, most people don’t.

The Wuhan response was good; stop people flying into the USA, and development of a vaccine in months rather than years.

There is so much evidence of the slide to fascism that there’s a bunch of folks writing about it, both on the web and books too are being written on the subject.

Is that a sacrilege?

So evidently personal attacks are allowed here?

Again all you do is link to nonsense.

I provided you a link to the definition of fascism. I explained exactly how President Trump fails to meet the elements of that definition. You continue to argue that he is a fascist without addressing how he meets the elements of being a facist. Then you complain when you are described as being what such actions make you.

You are welcome to explain how President Trump is a fascist. You can start with:

1.) What actions did President Trump take consistent with the exercise of dictatorial power?

2.) What specifically did President Trump do to force suppression of opposition ?

3.) What actions did President Trump take towards strong regimentation of society and of the economy?

The floor is yours sir/ma’am/zir

Unfortunately Trump is more popular in Nigeria than in USA. Please see this: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-nigeria/scorned-by-trump-many-nigerians-love-him-all-the-same-idUSKBN27J0S2

“President Trump, may we shout for joy over your victory,” Rev. Daddy Hezekiah of the Living Christ Mission Inc., which organized the Oct. 25 rally, said in a video.

A Pew Research Center poll in January found that 58% of Nigerians had confidence in Trump, behind only Israel, the Philippines and Kenya. A 2020 Gallup poll showed 56% of Nigerians approved of U.S. leadership, versus 24% for Europeans.

In a posh Lagos eatery, a portrait of Trump in a gold-trimmed red agbada, a flowing robe worn by Yoruba men, hangs on the wall. The traditional clothing is a “mark of respect”, said artist Peter Udoakang.

The only logical explanation as to why Trump is less popular here is that Americans are RACIST! since black people in Africa love Trump...

“I made this painting to bring him closer to us,” said the 23-year-old, adding that Trump’s “radical” approach to governing appealed to Nigerians, who are used to hustling in a tough economy to survive.

On a busy Lagos road, driver Michael Onyeonoro said if Nigeria found a similar leader, the U.S. visa troubles might not matter.

“If we have a person like Trump...Nigeria will be a better place to stay,” Onyeonoro said. “There will be no need of going outside the country.”

Delusions much?

I just posted a thread here yesterday about five ways in which President Trump changed my mind, albeit with results rather than argument.

Meanwhile, you have still failed to explain how Trumps actions meet the multipronged definition of Fascism.

Can I assume you now acquiesce and admit that President Trump is not a fascist?

It's not about politeness. He could have been more savvy and smarter with presentation. He's brash. He's from New York. I personally didn't mind it, but it's literally the biggest and really only beef the left had with him. His policies helped them. I love his tweets, but people are sensitive. He didn't play to the middle left crowd that just didn't like him and was the reason they didn't vote for him. My mom is one. I know many others. They didn't like him but enjoyed the 4 years he was in office financially and said they would have voted for him if he wasn't an ass. Don't shoot the messenger, but Trump simply didn't play to that crowd.

clambo says
The Wuhan response was good; stop people flying into the USA, and development of a vaccine in months rather than years.

It was waaaaaaay heavy handed. He should have fired Fauci once he flip flopped on masks. Travel should have never stopped from anywhere. There currently is not an actual vaccine, which is fine, we don't need one anyway as it won't be effective. Just take care of yourself and you won't have problems. That's literally the solution to the virus. Not masks or banning travel. Take care of your god damn body. That should be the biggest take away from this virus. If you're a fat fuck eating burgers all day everyday, smoking, etc. expect to die from one of the weakest corona virus' ever.

Ultimately it was up to the states anyway. What's the point of paying state level politicians and taxes? Let's just have the federal government run everything and cut out the middle man? Would save money. Trump sent a ship and Cuomo sent half dead people around other half dead people with a mild virus that could put them over the edge. So I don't blame Trump at all. He just allowed "experts" to guide the covid response in the absolute worse direction. Fauci should be hung in public for his actions. The left wanted dead people and Fauci made it happen.

I liked Trump. He wasn't perfect though. If he had changed just the 2 things above, he'd have gone down as the most popular POTUS in modern history and likely would have gotten 100M votes. I think history with time will regard him better than the current hysteria from the left and media, but just a few changes could have made a difference. My list on Biden negatives would take up 20 comments, so I think I'm being fair.

According to the author
“Fascism has not happened here so far.”

“you could call legitimately call Trumpism a fascist social and political movement” and that Trump is “using fascist political tactics,” but that Trump isn’t necessarily leading a fascist government.

But most experts did not even go that ...
jazz_music says
But most experts did not even go that far, and some expressed concern that describing Trump as a fascist undermines the term and leads to a misanalysis of our current political situation. “If Trump was a fascist and we were in a situation akin to Germany in 1932 or Italy in 1921, certain kinds of actions would be justified,” Sheri Berman, a professor of political science at Barnard College, says. “But we are not and they are not.”

Time to read between the lines.

From reading her story, I get the idea that the lady is fairly attractive. Also that she was quickly promoted into high positions. Add to that the people who make those promotion choices are pigs who think that giving such favors to attractive women will increase the pig's romantic opportunities. The lady knew all this, and played the game to leapfrog over others, no doubt strategically smiling and lightly flirting the right people. Had someone who could not influence her advancement done any inappropriate touching or suggestive comments, you can bet immediate reporting and punitive action would be taken. However, men who can help her get promoted got a pass.

The idea that someone might think I held my high-ranking position because of the Governor’s “crush” on me was more demeaning than the kiss itself.

And that someone would be right. But now that Cuomo has fallen into disfavor, this lady will be rewarded for helping to take him down. She will be the "hero" and will be thus aided in her run for Borough President. The timing of this is no accident. This is all politics by a women who knows how to play the pig men to gain herself top favors and promotions.

U.S.—According to sources, dozens of people around the country sat down last night to hear late-night talk show hosts tell them what to think about everything. Several viewers noticed the hosts opened up their very hilarious monologues with the same strange lines.

With a far-off look and robotic delivery, they all said: "We don't like Cuomo anymore. He used to be good, but now he's bad. You used to like him, but now you don't. Ha. Ha. Ha."

The dozens of viewers all laughed, having been given the cue to laugh when the hosts said "Ha. Ha. Ha."

"Wow, Governor Cuomo is bad. We don't like him now!" all the viewers said in unison.

According to experts, Governor Cuomo has been officially deemed bad by all the experts, even though he was good just a few short weeks ago. Experts also agreed that you should agree with them or you're failing to trust the experts, which is bad.

A celebratory book Gov. Andrew Cuomo wrote about his own coronavirus response has had its promotion paused by the publisher due to the federal probe into the state’s handling of the coronavirus in nursing homes, a report said.

Crown Publishing Group additionally has no intention of reprinting or reissuing Cuomo’s tome “American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the Covid-19 Pandemic,” which was released last October, the company’s publisher Gillian Blake told The New York Times in a statement.

The irony is that the far bigger scandal lies in the number of old people he murdered in nursing homes while bathing in praise and bashing Trump, but none of that matters because a couple of former whores now turned post-wall harridans can one last time telegraph their once sexual desirability and are now used as pawns to teach him a lesson not to piss off the wrong people while they enjoy a last endorphin-laden rush of popularity before fading into oblivion. I meant Elliot Spitzer. That as soon as the Mortgage Backed Securities collapsed, and he made a few statements about prosecution, they suddenly found he had used his Amex on Hooker.

But it IS a mystery as to what Cuomo did. It might be that there is some strong and unconcealable evidence about the nursing homes, so they're rushing to get him off the scene with MeToo crap? Or maybe something else.

The Cuomos are really powerful, esp. outside NYC. So whatever it is, they must think is really bad. I'm sure the #MeToo stuff is just the excuse.
