Self-deportation is the answer. It only sounded "wrong" because it came out of Romney's mouth.

Correction: Unsubstantiated Unnamed Source Rumor: An unnamed Trump Adviser recommends Dimon for the post.

This election is mostly about Red Pill vs. Blue Pill. Most people don't really care about policy DETAILS.

Most likely, we are screwed anyway.

The bankers will always be the owner.

I'm glad to hear that Trumpligula was always in the pocket of the Shadow Government, just as the Founding Fathers intended.

These guys didn't bother you when Obama was in office. You defended their too big to fail checks.

So why don't you tell us why they so great!

76954   MisdemeanorRebel   2016 Nov 11, 10:32am

I remember when Obama won in 2008, everybody said "Don't worry, his campaign advisers are all Wall Street Skeptics. They're gonna get cabinet positions."

And of course, from Wikileaks, we saw that Michael Froman of Citigroup was picking the Obama Cabinet, and all those campaign advisers were relegated to powerless White Paper Committees while Wall Street Crooks got the Cabinet positions.

Despite a mandate of fixing Wall Street, Obama dropped all rhetoric on regulated Wall Street immediately, and began working on a subsidy scheme for Aetna/US Healthcare.

One skill that Trump possesses is to pick the right people for the right jobs. Lets give credit where credit is due.

If true that would be a poor choice unless he told Dimon any greed or self interest would count towards his death at the hands of Clinton's old personal trainer while working out at the end of his term.

76958   Patrick   2016 Nov 11, 11:00am

So is this any worse than say, Paulson or Rubin from Goldman Sachs being Sec. Treasury?

It's not like there's anything new here afaict.

Bezos and Slim's Blogs are never going to give Trump a break.

First 100 days: Hearings on Amazon Monopoly, working conditions at "High Tech Jobs of the Future" Amazon Warehouses, hearings on billionaire ownership of media outlets and trust busting Media Conglomerates.

Maybe rules limiting foreign ownership of US Media to 5% of shares (Fuck you, Murdoch and Slim)

Attack is the best Defense.

Anyway, the story is "Trump's advisors considered", not "Trump personally offered position to".

Gov. Chris Christie is no longer the leader of the transition team, and Mike Pence is taking over. Hawkish on War!

Stop it, Patrick, you're not supposed to read articles with a critical, cynical eye.

So far Trump has not appointed Geithner and Larry Summers to his transition team :)

76965   MisdemeanorRebel   2016 Nov 11, 11:40am

I won't be horrified. I'll see it as a concession to get other shit done.

The person who was elected with a mandate to reform Wall Street was Obama, and it turned out his job was to run down the clock on prosecutions. His appointment of Geithner, Summers, and Holder of the Marc Rich pardon was evidence he was lying the whole 2008 campaign.

Trump's mandate is to trim the excesses of outsourcing and insourcing, repeal Heritage Foundation Care, and generally check Neoliberal Globalization.

Hillary was supported by big banks and millions of OPENLY anti-white racist misandrists who made no secret of their irrational, hateful, dangerous prejudices.

76966   missing   2016 Nov 11, 11:54am

Expected. The price to pay to get what we want in 4 years. Successful or not, after the primaries, this is the only way.

76967   indigenous   2016 Nov 11, 11:55am

The dirty little secret is that all legislation is controlled by the staffers. The politicians are too busy running for reelection.

E.G. term limits would make the problem worse. Because that would throw more power to the staffers.

Bankers are staffers, which is why Goldman Sachs has had someone in the white house for ever.

76968   fdhfoiehfeoi   2016 Nov 11, 12:03pm

I said this before the election, I'll say it again. You cannot fix a broken system from within. Trump is NOT a financial outsider. He is just as buddy buddy with wall street as Obama and every president before that back to LBJ. If this seriously surprises anyone you should be smacked in the back of the head for being so gullible.

It's going to be interesting to see a Government by the people for the people.
I hope he gives the NSA Cyber watch tower even juristiction over all digital data comming out of Washington to be monitored.
Trump would have never pulled off what he did, had Hillary kept it all on the Whitehouse.Gov email. The Snoop center doesn't watch their email.
I think they should have at least the Meta Data on the government offical communication. I mean real Meta Data like they were supposed to have, not the whole Email Server folder.
But who sent what subject and how many bytes to who and where. That would go along way to give oversight commities more power. And will keep Ameirca honest for another 250 years.

"It's going to be interesting to see a Government by the people for the people." - You keep forgetting about Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell so it these are your type of "people" - you will love this.

Ryan also indicated that he wants to privatize Medicare, New York Magazine reported, Friday. This would effectively end Medicare, since it’s a publicly funded program. Handing it over to businesses would be the end of the program, even if “privatizing” sounds like a change or a reform.

You forget that Ryan and McConnell threw up obstacles to Trump and were gleeful when the bullshit Bush Bus Tape came out. They're with her. Trump needs to crush them ASAP.

Lindsay Graham voted for NeverTrump Evan McMullin.

Having a heavy weight wall street guy at the helm of the Treasury is to reassure investors that there will be at least one voice that might help prevent Trump from doing something insanely stupid (economically). That is understandable, and actually a little reassuring to me (that he won't have only loyal idiot yes men in his cabinet).

But Sara Palin ? That would be surprising, even to me.

76978   Peter P   2016 Nov 11, 2:56pm

Perhaps Trump should have Palin deal with Putin. She can see Russia from her house. No need to have a hotline.

Yeah, what did Obama do to stop it? He's been President for Eight (8), Ocho, Acht, Years/Anos/Jahren.

He's got 70 days, he can do a lot with executive orders.

I made that speculation on Wednesday and don't doubt it. People today are killed over nothing in the public square so this is really provocation. A friend who work at U of Florida's extension service but also is on a site that deals in old ceiling fans said the son of one of his customers put a post on his Facebook account that he was going kill Trump. All the more reason these people needed to loose the election. Here's a comment I made on a story about Ann Coulter fat-shaming protesters:

Hilarious! I love Ann Coulter and knew she was ecstatic after Trump's victory. The protesters are the same people who are so fragile they have to have safe spaces and trigger warning on campus to protect them against opinions they don't agree with. The ones who shut down speakers they don't agree with and cause them to be uninvited--every May brings rejections of conservative speakers who were invited but rejected by the "students". But when they want something, it's no holds barred. These are going to be dangerous people in their 30's and 40's if they ever get into government, heaven forbid. They are the modern day's equivalent of Chairman Mao's Red Guards during the Chinese Cultural Revolution when you could be killed for your thoughts.

The guns will come out eventually I can't believe Obama is going to wait until he ends up worse than LBJ. Just like LBJ let the Marxist useful idiots create mayhem just until they weren't needed anymore.
