i rode uber a few times i thought it was a very cheap alternative to taxi. i will never ride a fucking overpriced POS taxi again.

can't tell where the money went but the amount is shocking.

I keep hearing from people that uber and taxi is roughly priced the same.

my experience is that I always seem to pay 30-40% less with uber on routes I've used Taxis in the past. Done with taxis here too.

"Why you silly unimaginative little shit. Implement fingerprinting ID as already exists in your smartphone, or better yet, iris scanning."

Why not do a DNA test before you get a ballot?

"The Left hates the electoral college because it makes cheating more difficult."

Actually it makes it easier as the right has figured out. You only have to illegally stop 50-80K voters in a few states vs. having to illegally keep 3MM voters from voting without the electoral college.

78446   anonymous   2016 Dec 21, 6:44am

Individual votes don't count if they're illegal aliens.

78447   MisdemeanorRebel   2016 Dec 21, 7:13am

Wyoming has 600,000 people and two Senators.

Suffolk County, NY (Eastern LI) has 2 Million people and shares 2 Senators with the other ~18M New York State Residents.

Think about this: There is a Senator for every 300,000 Wyoming residents, but only one Senator for every 10M New York Residents.

The whole of Wyoming has many, many times the voting power of Suffolk County despite having less than 1/3 the residents.

And the Constitution would have never been ratified without this discrepancy.

Seems to me this is the most undemocratic aspect of our Constitution right now.

"Individual votes don't count if they're illegal aliens."

Yep. And recounts in Nevada, Michigan, and everywhere else they've ever done them has found ZERO evidence of any measureable amount of illegal alien voting. But, in Florida, North Carolina, et. al, they've found huge issues with voters illegally purged from the registered voting rolls.

If you want to point at voter fraud, you should be point at Republicans.

78450   MisdemeanorRebel   2016 Dec 21, 7:43am

Nevada - there's no way to verify because they don't check for ID at the polling booth.

It's like a security guard saying "only employees are in the building."
"How do you know?"
"Because this is the only way in."
"Did you check and record the Badges they had?"
"We don't check IDs, we take people at their word."

31 States also don't check.

Funny because to get your Soc Sec report you have to show ID. Apparently it's okay to exercise the vote and pick the leadership of the country without doing so in most of the states.

PS You don't need to drive to get an ID. And ID cards aren't prohibitively expensive. $10 in Nevada for an under 18 ID, $22 for an over 18 ID. Same people who claim poverty just came back from the liquor store with a bottle of Hennessy

PPS Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands --- all require ID to vote.

78456   Entitlemented   2016 Dec 21, 9:51am

Actually the scroll above has some truths to it.

If you sum of the rules of Alinsky, it would be "pick a fight on everything", "dont work with other to solve problems", "cast blame around as broadly as possible", "and dont love your neighbors". In essense dont work in good faith with anyone.

Jesus told us to "Love our neighbors". Whilst this be a quote from a great religious figure, I would hope even avowed atheists could get behind constructive problem solving and trying to fix things rather than break them, and get along in our societies.

78457   Entitlemented   2016 Dec 21, 9:53am

So the reason why Hillary lost the election: Her Bachelors thesis on Alinsky contributed to her entire persona. That was the wrong guy for solving problems, it was the wrong guy for Chicago.

And.... that's BS. They typically ask for an ID and always ask for a signature. A signature is good enough to prove ID for legal papers, credit cards, checks, etc.

I guess a signature is not good enough to prove ID to vote though?

If you've ever bought a car or a house (which I doubt) you'd know that getting a loan for either requires you prove your identity usually with a state issued ID or a passport. Signatures are just a way to certify agreement of the details of a contract. They've never been a form of ID, too easy to fake!

And the media reporting a Clinton win before California primary voting day to discourage Bernie voters from voting? For every sketchy Republican voter tactic I'll give you two outright frauds committed by Democrats, usually against their own.

How do you know who is signing it? Since you neither need to show picture or non-picture ID, what do they have to compare it to?

Maybe if you sign your DMV forms, you don't need to carry your driver's license. If you sign your employee form, why do you need to show a badge? They can just ask you to sign!

Let's do this at the TSA Check-in. "I don't have picture ID, but I can sign something."

Yep--exactly like that. It was wrong when it happened in the NY primary and it's doubly wrong when it happens in NC and FA during a Presidential election. How about we both agree that this practice sucks and keep it from happening again? And admit that it's a much bigger problem than supposed illegals voting.

As to the media--I think the opposite is true. Reporting a Clinton win will keep lazy Clinton voters at home because they think she doesn't really need their vote.

False analogy! The bank doesn't care who makes the payment as long as they get paid!
Using your vote is more like using your bank account. It's a right that belongs to you and nobody else with your voter Registration. If someone else accesses your bank account and withdraws your money you'd said fraud! Same when someone uses your vote.

Honestly this is such a DUH issue I'm amazed you butt holes have the stones to present such a lame argument! But then I've heard that Leftist thought causes brain damage.

We require gov't ID to drive, buy alcohol, enter a bar/casino, etc., but not to vote? Anyone who argues against that is fucking retarded. It makes me embarrassed to be human.

78475   anonymous   2016 Dec 21, 8:23pm

The concept of the electoral college is a check and balance to protect against one way of retarded groupthink dominating the country. A great example of this is California, where so many residents are brainwashed into certain Leftist thinking that makes no sense as CA tries to build a dependent, socialist society. Lazy humans will take the easy way out and will vote Left to ensure their welfare lifestyle continues, and upper class liberals will vote Left out of media-imposed guilt and trendiness. As more residents move to California, more and more people are infected with this brainwashing thereby yielding more popular votes in favor of such ridiculousness.

A true democracy doesn't exist for this very reason. Humans are insecure and needy by nature, which means they will attach themselves to what's popular in their particular circles as well as to what politically and financially serves them, vs having the courage to assess issues or candidates objectively on their merits as to what's right for the country.

If we get rid of the electoral college, we'd have to get rid of the way we have the Senate and the House because both houses are built on the same concept of keeping highly populous states and municipalities from overrunning the rest with potentially harmful ideas such as CA hating and voting to tax coal, or Ohio hating and voting to tax entertainment, or Oregon hating and voting to tax oil, or New York hating and voting to tax tech companies.

78476   anonymous   2016 Dec 22, 7:10am

So are you saying we need to redo the way the House and Senate are structured? Based on your thesis, we should do a "Prop" system (i.e., popular vote) for all federal laws, vs the representation model.
