Take a plane flight across the country and look out the window to see how much of this country is uninhabited.

Those places don't have jobs. The problem with land is that it's usefulness is proportional to its population density, and thus also to its scarcity. This is why Georgism is the best economic philosophy.

Not true and although wages are lower in those places the standard of living is higher than it is in the bay area.

That's pretty funny. The guy with a trash can lid cannot possibly know how stupid he looks. It would be interesting seeing a hijab in the mix. I wonder what the police would do in that situation.

Never scratch a zit.

Imposing our will by arming foreign groups should be illegal.

Does that mean it should be illegal to arm the Yazidis to save them from being wiped out and sold into sex slavery by ISIS?

More times than not, "our will" coincides with the will and goals of our like-minded allies.

But Obama was quietly making progress taking back territory from ISIS without making big tough guy speeches or wasting soldiers and dollars.

ISIS gained all of its territory under Obama's watch and it resulted in genocide and wholesale slaughter of religious minorities and refugee crisis we haven't seen since WWII.

Obama had to put thousands of troops back into Iraq after he foolishly went against all of his military and diplomatic advisers by pulling every last troop out of Iraq.

Obama didn't get us out of any wars, he just prolonged them. More troops died in Afghanistan under Obama's watch than Bush's.

Yes. Our government should arm our own military forces in defense of our country and citizens. War should be voted on in congress. Anything else should be illegal.

No, ISIS was expanding and Obama was funding the Moderate Jihadis.

Don't you remember Obama dismissing them as the "The JV Team" when ISIS first emerged and began expanding?

It was when the Russians started bombing ISIS and their oil convoys, and Hezbollah and Iranian forces entered ground combat, that they began to retreat. Now they're totally imploding.

Oh, and allowed thousands of Chechen Hillbilly Wahabi-backed Fanatics transit into Syria.

Bad, bad Erdogan! He even operates inside Russia, the fucking fuck!

NOVOSASITLI, Russia – Four years ago, Saadu Sharapudinov was a wanted man in Russia. A member of an outlawed Islamist group, he was hiding in the forests of the North Caucasus, dodging patrols by paramilitary police and plotting a holy war against Moscow.

Then his fortunes took a dramatic turn. Sharapudinov, 38, told Reuters that in December 2012 Russian intelligence officers presented him with an unexpected offer. If he agreed to leave Russia, the authorities would not arrest him. In fact, they would facilitate his departure.

“I was in hiding, I was part of an illegal armed group, I was armed,” said Sharapudinov during an interview in a country outside Russia. Yet he says the authorities cut him a deal. “They said: ‘We want you to leave.’”

Sharapudinov agreed to go. A few months later, he was given a new passport in a new name, and a one-way plane ticket to Istanbul. Shortly after arriving in Turkey, he crossed into Syria and joined an Islamist group that would later pledge allegiance to radical Sunni group Islamic State.

Reuters has identified five other Russian radicals who, relatives and local officials say, also left Russia with direct or indirect help from the authorities and ended up in Syria. The departures followed a pattern, said Sharapudinov, relatives of the Islamists and former and acting officials: Moscow wanted to eradicate the risk of domestic terror attacks, so intelligence and police officials turned a blind eye to Islamic militants leaving the country. Some sources say officials even encouraged militants to leave.

Here's the US dead numbers in Iraq - I hope these are accurate: http://icasualties.org/Iraq/ByYear.aspx
During the 5 years Bush was managing things, there were 600 to 1000 dead per year.
During the 8 years under Obama, the number dead went down like a rock and were less than 20 per year from 2011 and on.
In Afghanistan, the numbers were high in Obama's first term, when we were going after bin Laden. The've been much lower since then. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_military_casualties_in_the_War_in_Afghanistan

Trump is playing golf something like 3 times as often as Obama. Personally, I don't care all that much about this, but you can't make this argument only when convenient.Strategist says

I hold Obama responsible for the genocide of the Yazidis.

Yep. That was tragic. You can't protect everybody and pull out of the conflict. You have to choose one. I recall people liking Trump for being an isolationist compared to HRC. You can't really have it both ways.

Lashkar_i_Trumpi says

Yeah. ISIS expanded a lot. After that, we started taking territory back. I posted a number of threads about it during the election cycle. We were in the middle of helping Iraqis take Mosul back last fall. Still ongoing. I'm no expert on the subject, but the slow and steady approach seems to me to be the way to go there.

This is part of the reason that I don't particularly care. The other reason is that people do better work when they get some time to think out in the sun and get some exercise. I just don't get when individuals to all of the bitching and moaning about Obama golfing when the don't make a peep about Trump doing the same. I get why Trump complained about Obama golfing during the election. That's just plain old salestastic bullshittery.

As for the Sunday part - that doesn't really matter. The president is a 24/7 job. People need a break, but the world doesn't stop turning on Sunday.

not toppling assad will result in many years of civil war.

This in not true. If Assad remains and those who oppose him are not being aided from abroad, there will be no civil war. Assad has a wide support in Syria. Check your facts (but not from the MSM).

I know my facts. Read Black Flags by Jody Warrick which details the rise of ISIS and how Assad turned a minor political problem into a major civil war. Assad does not have wide support. He has support but it's conditional. People are willing to accept him if he reforms the government and the political process. Something he has been promising to do for 17 years. The alawite sect that controls the government is 16% of the population vs 75% sunni. Assad isn't going to reform anything since that will result in a huge loss of power for the alawites. Ergo if assad stays there will be many more years of civil war. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2012/jan/17/syrians-support-assad-western-propaganda

I wouldn't mind taking an hour or so flight standing up. All those long lines at the airport make you stand anyway. The price has to be right.

The tariffs would be based on loyalty.

You get discounts for surviving previous flights.

I have no loyalty to major companies. They are all scumbags trying to rip me off. Except for Apple, Tesla and Costco.
I went to the AT&T store last month to get an iPhone for my daughter. I have everything with AT&T....lots of phones, internet and direct TV. They try to sell me an Apple watch. I tell them I already have one. They say if I buy the Apple watch for $389, they will give me $50.00 off per month for the next 12 months on the Direct TV. It's obviously an offer I cannot refuse, so I buy the watch. One week later I check my account, and guess what? No $50.00 discounts. I call the store and they give me bullshit. So I return the watch (i intentionally kept the box unopened) and file a complaint.
I have always had problems with banks, phone companies and cable companies. Damn crooks.

I hate this airline already. Every time somebody gets off the crapper, the cabin de-pressurizes. The IHLs make you eat the peanuts out of their skeevy snatches.

83406   Shaman   2017 May 10, 8:44pm

Well as a symbol it's got a LOT going on, certainly not obvious to first look. But that could work in favor making it cool to wear about since the unenlightened wouldn't really know what to think and probably a lot of people would ask about it.
