Wow, I get my very own thread about this mess? This woman forgets or fails to hide her deep-seated anti-Semitism. She is old enough to know and have experienced that 6 million Jews were murdered in their "homes" of Germany or Poland. She isn't even thinly veiling her true desire that those Jews should have been gassed out of existence instead of finding relative safety in the Middle East. The British were counting on this when they would block refugees coming from Germany and Poland to Israel in the 1930's to escape being murdered. Our own country, the USA didn't allow many refugees to come here to find sanctuary either with a few notable exceptions like Albert Einstein because he was a military asset. This would be funny and I could forgive an elder who grew up in a different time if it wasn't already played out in the 1930's of which she is more than aware. Good riddance to her and here's to hoping that someone more truly objective takes her place.
I was shocked by her comment myself and thought of you and your knowledge and perception of the situation and figured you'd 'bout fall off your chair reading this...return to Germany or Poland, heck, surprised she didn't go as far as saying 'and turn on the gas'...:O(
Good riddance to her and here’s to hoping that someone more truly objective takes her place.
It's about fucking time.

Helen Thomas announced on Monday that she is retiring, moments after the White House Correspondents Association said it was considering stripping her of her front-row press room seat.
The 89-year-old so-called “dean of the White House press corps†had caused an uproar after making remarks in May suggesting that Israeli Jews should “get the hell out of Palestine†and return to Germany and Poland “or wherever they came from.â€
Ms. Thomas, a columnist for Hearst Newspapers who has frequently been critical of Israel, had apologized for the comments. She made them to a rabbi who interviewed her on videotape outside the White House during a celebration of Jewish heritage in May.
