It is a funny ad. There are tons of these falling apart old houses that are still listed for ballooned prices actually, all over the country.
Probably in a year or two garbage inventory will clear out and normal houses will come up at lower prices as well. We live in the valley, most houses here are so old and beat up that they'll probably fall apart like a deck of cards if the wind blows hard enough one day.
Is this on a boat load of land or something? Taxes that high...gotta be. Ad doesn't say. The "house" is under even under utility lines...so the "landscape" better not grow too high.
Not quite. Yaphank is in that weird "in between" zone in Suffolk county... not quite the Hamptons, not quite commutable to Manhattan / Queens (although it is 1 to 1.5 hrs from parts of Nassau county).
Yaphank / Mastic / Patchouge were all "exurbs" until the bubble, and reverting back to that status.
Unless you are a PhD physicist with Brookhaven National Labs, you probably either 1) have a commute, or 2) don't earn enough to afford a $250k + home.

Yaphank is a dump: always been a depressed area, but with the bubble, price took off - but the low lives did not. Home prices quadrupled, maybe this area tripled. You can get an acre of land in a better area for without worrying about the gangs and drug dealers.
m*f*realtror should check her comps, or maybe she's looking to just get lucky. Here's some horse land in much better locations without the clean up bills:

American real estate seems kind of petty and overpriced now that I think more about it. Just a huge liability for which tons of suckers are willing to sacrifice 30 years of their life.
Here is Realwhore's web site:
Real Estate is her passion. Or so her website says.
Assuming her picture is not too out-of-date, I would expect an additional "service" at closing. She may want to bring some knee pads with her. ;-/
His web site says:
"At Dick Payne First National Real Estate Gerringong, nothing gets in the way of you and your real estate needs." I suppose that's good to hear.

At first I thought it said it was her "prison." Maybe I was right.

Would need more and better pictures.
Anyone want a lame laugh? Here's what seems to be a boarded meth lab or something; offered for sale in a super-crappy neighborhood for a mere $265,000 and $8G/yr in taxes:
"House Is Not Habitable To Human Kind. Purchaser Must Have House Home Fumigated, Sterilized And Brought Up To Human Living Standards. This Is Not A Short Sale. Purchaser Should Verify All Information."
And it is offered by a Realtwhore (TM) with email: mfrealtor00
Yes mfrealtor, please provide me with more information. I am sure this is a diamond in the rough with unlimited potential and i can bring my tool belt and enjoy the view from my adorable 2b/1b cutie - but you already have a full price offer so I need to hurry because it won't last.
