I have been pretty busy to closely look at Wisconsin. Thanks for the links. Aside from the tin-foil hat conspiracy theories on both ends, why do government workers need to be unionized? On the one hand, I understand that collective bargaining can be very helpful in establishing fair pay for work performed but when I worked for the government there were pay scales set by the legislature with very little wiggle room. It seems that the union dues would go directly into lobbying activity because who else are they going to bargain with? If unionization isn't the answer, what is the alternative and how would that be better?

They don't need to be and never were until Kennedy allowed it.
I was just thinking about this. I'm not sure if this classifies as big labor. I just think these unions are so corrupt financially that I can't group them with the rest of the working base.
