this indeed is a badge of honor!

You are not in compliance with Participation Requirement Number 1 and the Operating Agreement because the sites you are sending traffic from are considered unsuitable for inclusion in the Associates Program (they contain sexually explicit, violent, libelous/defamatory materials or promote discriminatory or illegal activities).

They would not answer my request for a clarification of exactly which of their rules had been violated. Sublime proof that politically incorrect speech will not be tolerated by our owners.

Well, whoever it is......if you don't like the site, go somewhere else. Why be an asshole?

All this and we weren't even trying. We could have been waaaaay more offensive if only we had known we were being watched.

Seriously, they need to get out more. This site isn't even close to qualifying as a "most offensive" in any category.

You keep misspelling his name, it is Cabron for a reason.

Must have been one of those pictures Dan posts. Amazon isn't super strict on those things, unless there is something like pornography which they don't tolerate.

You can ask them for a response as to "why", they do answer.

24   Y   2016 Apr 18, 10:32pm

Perhaps they would have been more receptive if you were offering Patrick Prime with Free Shitting...
Hmmm..patPrime..5 per month with the ability to un-unignore. Buck an un-unignore.
Discounts for large quantity purchases...

25   Y   2016 Apr 18, 10:34pm

Or is that un-ignore..

I'm especially curious to read why. If the issue resulted from a few photos that many have said the site would be better off without, someone might consider removing those...

In related news, Amazon also censors product reviews that mention when Amazon or its partners charge more for a product than other online or offline stores. They absolutely hate that but won't admit that they do it frequently.

30   FNWGMOBDVZXDNW   2016 Apr 19, 9:04am

I'm thinking they have a bot to read the web site and flag potential offenders. There are load of pictures that could have done it, but also discussions on various topics. I hardly blame them for wanting some control over who they call affiliates. Why would they want to risk the negative publicity for the right to give away money? Most of the affiliate programs are a gift, as Amazon doesn't really need the referral traffic.

Well, if PatNet got banned from Amazon because of sexually explicit images, I might as well post a few more from a well-known smut site.

Loveria 9 Inch Thick Waterproof Vibrator with 3th Generation Motor - Purple

Women's Sexy Lingerie Set - take special note of the camel toe right below the Star of David. I'm sure it's kosher.

Halloween Easter Day Festival Party Show Celebration Prop Simulation Tricky Dildo Spoof Funny Penis Grow Male Genitals
And no, I did not make up that completely non-offensive title. I plan on wearing this to Easter mass.

I could go on and on, but some of the stuff on that site would make a sailor blush.

P.S. You don't have to actually log in to see this stuff. So enjoy kiddies!

The Star of David belly button jewelry on the lingerie/garter shot is great. Ha!

This must be a week for ridiculous accusations...

I just got a notice from Cox accusing me of downloading Vinyl from HBO and sharing it in violation of copyright law using something called BitTorrent. I've been threatened with a Cox shutdown and possible legal action if I don't stop.

Speaking as the most technically savvy person in my household.... I've never even heard of BitTorrent! I wouldn't know where to begin downloading videos off of HBO. My knowledge about HBO begins and ends with the remote control that operates the cable box... So if it isn't a feature I can perform using the remote control, I probably didn't even accidentally do something illegal. For that matter, I take it Vinyl is some kind of television program?

Does this mean that someone has broken into my Wi-Fi? I've forwarded the note to the IT guy who does all our office stuff, but now I'm imagining someone doing all this stuff using my Wi-Fi while I'm at work.... and I'm trying to figure out how to change the password remotely if that's even possible.

35   curious2   2016 Apr 19, 12:51pm

turtledove says

Maybe, or if your account allows WiFi hotspot access while traveling, somebody may have got that password. You might want to ask Cox if they have any information about where the download allegedly occurred. If Cox got hacked and leaked customer passwords, or if they issued you a bundled WiFi router that can get hacked remotely, then it's the fault of Cox, not you. OTOH, if you chose a weak password, e.g. "12345", you should change it to a strong password with letters and numbers and special characters, e.g. tuRTle1!!dOve.

I don't want to rock the boat, so to speak but there are a LOT of people who use dirty words on this website. I mean a LOT. Maybe if you asked them not to swear you could get Amazon to change its mind?

Interesting discussion.

They hit me with the same thing. I don't even have cable. Nor is anyone doing any bittorrents in my house.

Who would participate in a free speech forum, and bitch and moan like a menopausing IHL about free speech?

Sorry for too much #feelthebern

No worries, that was sarcasm in reaction to Winston's well-mannered speech.

You can debate without insults with most if not all. Doesn't mean that insults shouldn't be allowed, but they often detract from the topic at hand.

i asked exactly what in specific violated their terms, and was again given a complete non-answer:

Dear Associate,

As stated in our previous communication, upon a review of your Associates account we have determined that you are not in compliance with the Operating Agreement that governs your participation in the Associates Program. We have closed your Associates account and you will not receive further payment of advertising fees.

You are not in compliance with Participation Requirement Number 1 and the Operating Agreement because the sites you are sending traffic from contain either sexually explicit, violent, libelous/defamatory materials or promotes discriminatory or illegal activities. Sites that include this content are considered unsuitable for the Associates Program.

funny they still refer to me as "Dear Associate" when i am clearly neither! lol

The grunts at Amazon support are completely worthless. Basically one grunt makes an arbitrary decision and no other grunt wants to question it and cannot figure out the basis of the other grunt's decision anyway. Unless you are a big cheese and bring in a lot of money for them, their philosophy is you're not worth our fucking time.

Fuck that shit!!!

56   zzyzzx   2016 Apr 20, 7:55pm

I already think Amazon sucks. I really don't buy much from them because it's usually cheaper to buy whatever I want elsewhere (like eBay or WalMart). Amazon sometimes charges people more, depending upon what browser they are using, if they looked at the item before. Fuck that shit!!!

The only thing that I actually like about Amazon is that their videos are included with Prime. Makes for good entertainment when at someone's house where they have it, other than that, f it's just for yourself, Amazon Prime is a waste of money. I like the reviews on Amazon, but rarely buy there.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-switch/wp/2015/01/14/the-things-amazon-chooses-charges-you-more-for-and-why/
The things Amazon chooses to charge you more for
What the authors find is that Amazon has carefully priced some items low, while leaving others more expensive -- in some cases, much more expensive -- to bolster its reputation as a place for deals.

And then there's this: Amazon seems to know, likely by studying billions of shopping transactions, exactly the time of year when many people will buy an item even if the price is high, the study said. For instance, the online retailer seemed to know that a lot of people would be buying HDMI cables in the fall and the run-up to Christmas. Boomerang found that a pack of Twisted Veins HDMI cables went from just under $5 in the summer to more than $8 before Christmas.

Amazon Charges Sales Tax On "Shipping and Handling"

http://crookedtimber.org/2008/12/22/amazons-price-discrimination/
After a bit of experimentation, it seems to me that what’s going on here is that those with a Prime membership are being quoted a higher price. Ouch. So the thanks I get for paying for the Prime membership and shopping at Amazon a lot is higher prices.

57   zzyzzx   2016 Apr 21, 10:01am

http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/look-out-you-might-be-charged-more-if-you-shop-online-using-mac-android-device-1474431

Previous research and media investigations since 2000 have found that Amazon and US retailer Staples had been charging users different prices for products due to estimations of their wealth and geographic location, a practice known as "price discrimination".

58   indigenous   2016 Apr 21, 10:02am
