Democrats lose bigly in California, Blue Wave never appeared
The problem with the primaries yesterday: Democrats & Republicans were allowed to vote.
242 years of different stupid people doing the same stupid stuff.
Will this stop Cali from becoming a shithole with mountains, beaches and nice weather? Prolly too late.
The Blue wave is like the legendary Yeti, every Democrat claims to have seen it, yet there is no conclusive evidence of its existence.
THanks for motivating me to check in on the facts.
Yeah, yeah, I know, it's CNN. Go ahead disregard. It's not like you are really interested in what's happening anyway.
why are they so cuckoo? It's the first in a series of steps for mentally disturbed people--it wasn't for nothing that it was the center of the universe for the Summer of Love. But going all the way back to the early 20th century, it attracted dreamers and off-kilter people. What would you expect from the home of Hollywood? The next step is Portland or Eugene, Oregon, then on to Seattle. For the really whacked out it's north to Alaska where they hunker down in some lonely outpost and nurse their grievances.
What would you call Democrats losing 2 representative seats to the GOP, and losing bigly (like double digit percentage points) in the 4 primaries in districts they are depending on to flip, in the bluest state in the country?
As for the number of races that have no democrat after the primary ? Zero.
The fact that Newsom has a republican oponent in the fall is a huge win for him
I'm not celebrating. Like most people, I was hardly aware there was an election.
While Villaraigosa may have been a marginally better choice for GOP voters to pick in a strict race between the Democrats, he’s still a shit sandwich when it comes to conservative values. We’d rather have a Republican on the ticket for two very important reasons:
I was hardly aware there was an election.
lostand confused saysCa is such a beautiful state. Just sad how left it has gone-why are they so cuckoo?
I am wondering why is this state progressing so much under the democrats

This article is hereby declared as FAKE NEWS. As poster marcus has already pointed out, California Republicans did not win ANYTHING. All they managed to do was to avoid being eliminated from the real election in November,

As San Francisco streets have grown dirtier, videos showing syringes scattered throughout downtown have gone viral. The city’s hotels have urged the mayor’s office to solve the homelessness crisis, while the San Francisco Travel Association attributed the city’s lower-than-expected tourist numbers in 2017 to the shock of seeing people living in tent communities on the streets. At the same time, new development is stalling.
This troubling brew is pulling otherwise liberal residents into Republican politics, said Jason Clark, 37, the chairman of the San Francisco Republican Party, who organized Tuesday night’s event.
California Republicans did not win ANYTHING
justme saysCalifornia Republicans did not win ANYTHING
That’s pretty normal for a primary election dontcha know? Staying in the game is winning!
Trump will win California in 2020.
Quigley saysTrump will win California in 2020.
People don't realize that Trump actually got more votes than Jerry Brown did in 2012. Conservatives aren't the dominant force in CA politics, but they are not staying silent, and this week's primary proved that.
There were multiple state primaries last night, but the focus was clearly on California since if a "blue wave" were to materialize, it would happen in the bluest state in the country right?
Well, it didn't happen and Democrats lost bigly.
The biggest victory of the night was the recall of Senator Josh Newman and the victory for Senator-elect Ling Ling Chang (R) in a district where Democrat registrations outpace GOP registrations. Newman is only the 6th politician recalled in California history. His support for the gas tax was hugely unpopular in his district, and he was quickly ousted and replaced by Republican Chang which ended the Democrat super majority in California.
Democrats were specifically targeting four congressional seats to flip from Republican to Democrat, and Republicans came out on top in ALL FOUR. Mimi Walters, Dana Rohrabacher, Young Kim and Diane Harkey all won their district primaries bigly.
Tony Mendoza lost to Republican Rita Topalian in Senate District 32, allowing the GOP to pick up another Senate seat immediately.
John Cox got onto the governor ballot for November and even though his odds to win are slim, having a GOP governor candidate was not guaranteed by early 2018 polls, and not having one would have possibly suppressed the conservative vote. But that didn't transpire, and Cox was the clear #2 in the primary.
Where the fuck was the blue wave? Any Democrats care to explain? Reuters, 538, and RCP now show the midterms as statistically even when it was +9 for Democrats in January.
What happened Democrats? Where was the blue wave?
