This is how I explain my political viewpoints to friends.

"I wish my married gay friends could defend their home and weed stash with an AR15 just as the founders intended."

Trump. He may not be perfect, but he's better than anything we've gotten in the past 20+ years.

Also agreed.

Trump, for all his flaws, is still the best president America has had in our lifetimes.

Look man. I agree with you. I don't understand the whole weed thing with ultra conservatives. I think all adults should be responsible for their own choices (weed, beer, etc).

But I think the GOP is leaning more towards liberty than the Democrats. I'm not sure how you can argue that any other way.

I voted for Ron Paul twice who was very open about weed. I also voted for Johnson.

2020 I'll probably vote for Trump. He may not be perfect, but he's better than anything we've gotten in the past 20+ years.

Agreed.

Yet you will chide liberals 100x and Republicans never, while they hold power and enforce Failed Prohibition. You always used to claim to stand for all the things that Republicans violate, so why are you so quick to get into bed with them, and then defend t...

I differed wrt neocon warmongering, drug and prostitution laws and the patriot act mass phone collection and subsidies. All of those differences except for the drug/prostitution laws and some subsidies are gone with Trump's reformed Republican party. That's a pretty close match. On the Dem side I may agree with 2 or 3 issues instead and fiercely disagree on the remaining majority. 80/20 rule clearly in favor of the Repubs. Plus some issues carry more weight than others. So I'm looking forward to 4 more years unless miraculously a better candidate comes forward. Trump or Rand 2020.

I didn’t vote for Trump but I won’t make that mistake twice.

Supporting Freedom, Liberty, and our Sovereignty is extremism now? What kind of American would I be if I abandoned everything that America stands for? Everything our Veterans have fought for?
In what particular way does the appointment of Kavannaugh to the Supreme Court endanger any of these things? Seems like if anything it would enhance them.

It keeps the Dems from legislating through the court, something they’ve done ever since FDR’s threats to the SCOTUS in the 1930’s.

I disagree. They have the power of the main stream media which is fading as an institution, but should NOT be under estimated. As you said yourself, it's a tool for sheep. Well, there are a lot of sheep.

And they have academe in the bag. The movies as well, which are really just a big propaganda machine.

Bush introduced the Junior Senator on the floor as the next Presidential contender. I can't find the news clip anywhere but I remember seeing it on the Cable news at the time.

Exactly. Just because they lost the SCOTUS battle doesn't mean they don't have claws. I feel sorry for what Kavanaugh had to go through, but he also had to expect it. I know I would. The left is completely depraved.

Aphroman, have you read the Federalist papers (all 85 essays)?

I promise your answer to this question has a point.
43   Goran_K   2018 Oct 8, 9:04am

So Hamilton kinda answered your question, right?

If you claim that Democrats hold power

The left holds MASSIVE propaganda power with control of education, MSM media, hollywood, social media, and major tech. They have used this power to divide us, brainwash our youths, and generally push us towards their tyrannical anti-american/pro-globalism agenda as per their american and international billionaire owners.

Luckily, Trump and the R's are in control of our government. The rest of our power-institutions, which the left controls, will take longer to dismantle. Good thing we elected our Trump bull in a PC china shop. No-one is better at exposing and dismantling these entrenched powers than Trump.

We MUST fix textbooks and mandate a minimum curriculum and intellectual diversity in HS and State Universities.

Must consider taking tenure boards away from Liberal Arts Departments and having a democratically elected - or appointed by Elected Officials - people pick Professors.

Wouldn't it be great if Governor Scott of Florida picked the tenure board that decided which Sociology/History/etc. Professors got Tenure at the University of Central Florida, etc.?

I'd prefer just to have federal money removed from the process, then allow the local authorities to do whatever they see fit for their children. If you dont like it, move to the next county over. Federally mandated standards mean there is no competition between localities, and no ability for a citizen to vote with their tax dollars for their preferred educational system.

Heres an example, go look at the state income tax rates in early 1900's. No state had much higher than a few % points, because the citizens would simply move to a state that is more favorable.

Within a few years of federal income tax, we had a top federal rate in the 60% range.

Get the federal govt out of education! Return power to the states and local leadership!

^^do that and the problem solves itself.

OR we can mandate "dear colleague" letter type progressive tyranny from federal regulators, absolutely decaying the value of our university system and turning it into a political propaganda machine.

Q music "we dont need no...EDUCATION... we dont need no...THOUGHT CONTROL" . (From an era when artists actually expressed real ideas and societal critiques.)
47   Goran_K   2018 Oct 8, 1:41pm

One only needs to look at the LAUSD budget, then test scores, to see that the government needs to get out of education.

Florida doesn't have an income tax. But I think we do need some state wide standards for education, at least for State Universities. We certainly need to fix Professor tenure, because it's totally broken.

Florida does have amazing Charter Schools, including some new Classical Education Schools.

Okay it's obvious now that you haven't read all 85 essays from the Federalist papers.

Hamilton answered your question in a very detailed manner. I'll give you a hint: "Mob".
