War in Iraq, started with war propaganda and lies. Thousands of men and women died since in that bloodshed for no good reason.
But I think biggest crimes are the once we don't really talk about. Why in such a wealthy nation we still have poverty and homelessness? Why is our healthcare so prohibitively expensive? Why is our justice system so expensive? Those are the real major crimes.

I'll nominate the LIBOR interest rate rigging scandal exposed in 2012 sometime.
LIBOR manipulation was a gigiantic swindle both of consumers and the taxpayer.

Housing bubble perpetrators:
I'll nominate any bank and bank CEO that packaged mortgage loans into MBS and then bet against the same bonds by purchasing Credit Default Swaps.
Okay, so the Republicons are now having their delicate sensibilities in a twist that the IRS rightfully targeted fake "civic leagues" and "social welfare groups" (created by Tea Party groups) that were seeking tax-exempt and/or donor-secrecy status from the IRS, under IRS regulation 501(c)(4).
I can think of QUITE a few REAL crimes in the last 10 years, none of which resulted in criminal investigations, indictments, or trials, but should have.
