Lefty cheers for Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in US politics may soon fade now that he’s reportedly looking into a top Democratic lobbyist.

NBC reports that Tony Podesta (the brother of Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, John Podesta) and his firm are the subjects of a criminal investigation by the special prosecutor.

Team Hillary has long denied that she was a target of the spy ring, but an FBI source told The Hill: “There is not one shred of doubt from the evidence that we had that the Russians had set their sights on Clinton’s inner circle.”

All this, of course, follows reports the Obama administration knew Russia was engaged in a campaign of bribery and extortion — yet allowed a deal to go through giving Moscow control of one-fifth of America’s uranium.

Yes, there’s something to investigate here. But it goes way beyond Donald Trump.

The dossier was 100% unverified and absolutely considered salacious. So when the FBI Director and Attorney General get some "intelligence folks" to corroborate "parts of the raw intel gathering" as sufficient to convince (reasonable people realize that the fucking FBI Director and Attorney General pushing this through is as politicized and forced as it gets) a FISA judge (these hearings are not held before the public) to issue a warrant to spy on an opposing presidential campaign, candidate, and then president elect - we've hit rock bottom as a democracy.

Congrats, DNC!

Mueller Now Investigating Democratic Lobbyist Tony Podesta

WASHINGTON — Tony Podesta and the Podesta Group are now the subjects of a federal investigation being led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, three sources with knowledge of the matter told NBC News.

The probe of Podesta and his Democratic-leaning lobbying firm grew out of Mueller's inquiry into the finances of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, according to the sources. As special counsel, Mueller has been tasked with investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Remember how Podesta and Manafort were paid by the same Pro-Russian/Pro-Yankuvytch client? Turns out Manafort worked FOR Podesta on Lobbying.

The AP obtained emails showing that Manafort and his deputy, Rick Gates, directed the work of the Podesta Group and another lobbying firm, Mercury.

Podesta Group CEO Kimberly Fritts said in a statement that the firm relied on assurances from the think tank, the European Centre for Modern Ukraine, that it was not controlled or financed by a foreign government or political party. Based on that information, the firm disclosed its work to Congress rather than to the Justice Department.

Keep in mind not only was Podesta the lead for Hillary's Campaign, he was also involved with Obama in 2008 and handled placing Citigroup/Big Pharma/Big Agra multinational-preferred candidates as various top level Department posts.

Only one of which is being investigated.

Joey, nothing was verified in the dossier. In fact, it is well understood that it was a pile of trash.

However, Comey and Lynch ran with it anyway and persuaded FISA that "parts of the raw intel gathering" were sufficient probable cause to investigate via wiretap.

BULLSHIT, BULLSHIT, BULLSHIT, and total failure of the democratic process.

Wrong. I've posted many, many articles listing exactly what has been verified.

The only bullshit is your posts.

Just a quick question. What's the difference between paying money for dirt and paying for dirt with favors and influence to a foreign power? Does anyone who voted for Trump know the answer?

Prove it! Post the links.

Here's one quote from Business Insider 4/19/2017

"The FBI reportedly used the explosive, unverified dossier detailing President Donald Trump's alleged ties to Russia to bolster its case for a warrant that would allow it to surveil Carter Page, an early foreign-policy adviser to Trump's campaign."

Wow, so the Clinton Campaign paid for a fake salacious dossier that was then used by the Obama DOJ to get a FISA to spy on Trump.

Dirty and Dangerous to Democracy! Steele is filing like a mad man in the UK, where the defamation laws are much tougher. Paging Michael Cohen.

I bet when Steele dropped fake news anonymously, it was reported as a "HIgh Ranking Intelligence Source."

Nope.. The Clinton campaign paid for oppo research. Said research was independently verified and showed potential crimes by one of the candidates. The FBI learned of this evidence and investigated as it's their job to investigate potential crimes.

One is a tort, the other there's no evidence for. Start putting aside money for the Elias and Steele Legal Defence Funds.

Just as I thought - anonymous intelligence sources consider Steele to be credible. Wonderful proof! Some email from Trump Jr. "parallel the unverified dossier." Iron clad!

I can't wait for Trump to sue!

So, if there is no suit, that must mean it's true, right?

What a difference one word can make...

Booger dropping the bombs on all of these Russian threads. Drives home the point how many duplicate threads there are on the same topic and how the same people piss on each other over and over.

Republicans apparently have no idea what the word collusion means anymore.

Yes, because it's been spewed Ad nauseam by the Dems for over a year without a single shred of evidence.
