Melissa Harris-Perry concluded the Whats So Funny About 2013? segment of her Sunday show with a chorus of laughter at the black grandson pictured in former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romneys family Christmas photo. The chuckles were directed at baby Kieran who was adopted by Romneys son Ben and his wife Andelynne in September.

Why are you rehashing Zimmerman again??

Yeah one faux pas out of context is something all liberals are behind.

Wow. Talk about a closed mind.
How about every black (comedian or otherwise) that uses the "N" word?
(don't bother saying that is not discrimination, it is. )

Dan8267 says

It's hard to discriminate against yourself and your own people. I can only think of one case...

Ignored Users

Being ignored by such a self indulgent fool is ok with me. Someone who lives in his mothers basement while waiting for georgism to redistribute the land so he can get his own place to live without putting out any effort isn't much worth reading.

Exactly what college professor in the U.S. uses the Communist Manifesto as a textbook?

It's right there on the book shelf next to the "all of America's problems are the middle aged white guys fault".

Though I'm curious, who teaches that class Al Jolsen?

You are truly a dumb ass.

The entire reason African Americans use the word "nigger" is to take away its power. By taking ownership of the word, they prevent others from using it against them.

It's like Dumbledore said

Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it.

Schooled your ass Hogwarts style!

Didn't he brag some time ago that he bought $1M house on the waterfront in WA?

Laughing derisively at a truth does not make it less true. Nor does it convince anyone with more intelligence than a five-year-old that the truth is not so.

Equality under law is one of the defining attributes of liberalism. It is precisely because of equality under law that liberals support
- interracial marriages
- same sex marriages
- the repeal of slavery, segregation, Jim Crow laws, voter ID laws intended to prevent legitimate voters from practicing their rights
- the repeal of prohibition on felons from voting
- the separation of church and state
- the prohibition of the state from placing Christian religious artifacts on courtroom and city hall grounds when that same government rejected Hindi, Satanic, and Wiccan religious artifacts.
- the repeal of anti-drug laws that target drugs based on the ethnicity that use them or that are prosecuted selectively

Notice how my response differs from yours? I provide specific, verifiable points, whereas you just laugh derisively without supply and rational for your laughter. Which do you think any intelligent person is going to weigh more?

One episode by one person, who later apologized btw, says nothing about the values of all or even most liberals. The OP's headline, however, says a lot about him. It shows he is ignorant and/or attempting to mislead others. It's probably a Texas thing, and I base that on their record of electing Rick Perry and W as Governor, i.e. not all Texans are ignorant and misled, but a majority of Texas voters appear to be, including the OP.

Are you sure Liberals actually HAVE values???? Really???

Yeah, liberal have values:
1. We are all equal under law with the same rights.
2. We should be allowed to do anything we want that does not infringe upon other people's rights.
3. Infringement upon anyone's rights is not acceptable.
4. There should only be rights, not privileges.

Contrast that to conservative values:
1. My race, nation, clan, tribe is the only one that matters. Kill or enslave everyone else.
2. No one should have sex but me and who I'm having sex with. I'm into the most sordid things, but that's ok. If anyone else wants sex though, he's a pervert or she's a slut.
3. Whatever religion I was born into is, by definition, the right religion and whatever fictitious god that religion advocates, by definition, supports everything I say.
4. Any economic freedom that helps me acquire vast sums of wealth without doing any work is a fundamental economic principle that must be adhered to in order to prevent economic collapse. However, any economic freedom that helps other people acquire wealth, whether through hard work or not, is fucking Communism.

And that pretty much sums up the two opposing schools of thought -- and I use the term "thought" very loosely when describing conservationism; it's more like reptilian instinct.

So, in other words, you don't have an answer so you just make up a title for a non-existent book.

Are you, by any chance, Clint Eastwood?

You know, a bitter old, white guy who's talking to an imaginary black president about all the things wrong in his delusional view of what America is now?

Does the fact that you are repeatedly wrong about what the facts are ever cause you to doubt your politics? Or does fear and hate trump reality?

No matter how long you yell at that chair, it's still just a chair. There is no one in it, except in your mind. And even that is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places, and incidents either are products of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual events or locales or persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental.

It might not be the course title, but it was an accurate description.

The problem with college is capitalism. Colleges are businesses, and as such, they screw over their customers, whom they view as sheep. That's the free market for you.

I've seen it too. It's how the Tea Party got elected. And now the Tea Party is destroying the Republican Party.

There's a danger with relying on lunatics for your minions. They tend to go crazy and fuck things up.

People with that many ignored users have lost both the right and the opportunity to be part of the conversation. I'm cool with ignoring the spammers or blatant unrepentant fools and advertisers, but ignoring everyone who thinks differently than you is just ignorant.

Marcus, for instance, has me on ignore. Though that's because there's no talking to that guy, he's someone who will hold the same opinion until the day he dies no matter how wrong it clearly is.

34   edvard2   2014 Jan 7, 7:39am

There's a few people here who deserve to be on the ignore list basically because they seldom if ever provide useful debates. I'm all for debating with others whom don't share my own opinions. But when the participation of some members is boiled down to posting stupid articles to support their lame right wing cause or otherwise make post after post about how much they dislike liberals then onto the ignore list they go. You can't argue with those kinds of people.

Well it certainly says something about MSNBC - right?

Isn't this like their 3rd or 4th major TV talking head that they had to suspend or fire for being a total a$$hole on air? Olbermann, Bashir, Baldwin, Ed......who is running that clown show?

And since MSNBC is every bit ideological Liberal as Fox is Conservative, I think we can fairly draw some conclusions.

BTW - love Bill's list. Poor dear can't countenance a single diverse thought.

Fuck things up like Detroit? Stockton? San Bernardino? Vallejo? Chicago? Jefferson County?

Can you provide any examples on that scale Dan?

No I don't, and that's BS. Example's ? I'm no more opinionated than you. Probably way less.

I do get frustrated with the ignorance about unions out there from some, and that people don't understand that their black and white absolutist view of unions hurts them even if they are not in a union.

Yeah, and I have dared to argue in defense of religion on occasion, because while I see the extremely obvious downside, and the ignorance and hate that often is promoted by religion, I don't blame all religion in total for that, and I'm not convinced that humanity would have been better off without ever having any religion.

Quigley says

he's someone who will hold the same opinion until the day he dies

Actually my views on religion are just one of many examples of an opinion that changed at some point well in to adulthood.

It may be true that you should be on ignore, if you're the kind of idiot who confused arguing, or even intolerance for stupidity with being too intractable with ones opinions.

When I put someone on ignore, it's usually because I know myself, and I do not wish to argue with them anymore. Either because of the trollish nature of their comments, or because I know I won't get anywhere, and because I don't feel there is even much to offer others in refuting their non backed up pov.

Quigley says

he's someone who will hold the same opinion until the day he dies no matter how wrong it clearly is.

I like that last part. Pot calling the kettle black ? Projection, with logical proof, all all in one little sentence.

Oh come on - that was over 10 years ago.

There can be no doubt that MSNBC morphed into the Liberal version of Fox news since the second Bush term.
