No, it's not. It's an autonomy and narrow one at that. By law, their Prime minister must be approved by Parliament (Rada) of Ukraine after he's voted in by Crimean Parliament.The guy who pretends to be Prime Minister now was "elected" after Crimean Parliament was seized by Russian special forces and was never approved by Ukrainian Parliament. Even if you choose to ignore the presence of armed men in the building during the vote, it's confirmed now that there weren't even enough MPs present to appoint him. The guy is a puppet sitting on Russian bayonets, pure and simple. BTW, his party got whopping 3% vote in the last Crimean election which speaks volumes about his "legitimacy". ;)

Yes, it does. For one, Ukraine has given up world's 3rd largest nuclear arsenal in exchange to security guarantees from US, UK and Russia. If US walks away now there is no way Iran or any other country would believe that giving up nukes is a good deal. And, unlike Zimbabwe, Ukraine can restore it's nuclear status in mere years. They have dozens of nuclear power stations, ICBM design and production facilities, etc. The peaceful, non-nuclear stance of Ukraine is a matter of choice. It can change, though, if Ukraine is left standing alone against Putin's fascist regime.

PS. During the next election Hillary will face tough questions re her misguided "reset" policy towards Russia (if the bitch still have the gall to run). She's partially responsible for the current situation.

Crimea is a part of Ukraine since 1954 and Ukraine's territorial integrity was confirmed at least 4 times since 1991 in various bilateral and multilateral treaties.

The explosion appeared to come from inside the building. It certainly did not originate in the crowd.

I think America is under estimating Russia's abilities.
They were awarded the Olympics, then told they had to spend billions to spruce up the place. The Russians said sure, no problem. The West then planed the Ukrane uprising, to coincide with the Olympics. They figured Putin would be too preoccupied with the ceremonies to worry about the Ukrane. But I don't think they planned on those damn pesky Gays, to pester and aggravate Putin while the fix was in the works.

Putin is under attack from all sides, he has the gay coalition screaming in one ear, and then the Ukrane revolting, wanting to be European in the other. All the while the Olympics are going on, he has the Cutlas wavers threatening a terrorist attack on his athletic prom. Then He has the west, cheering the whole thing on, while telling Putin we're watching you, we know you're broke from spending billions on Sochi, and didn't get the attendance because to the Olympics were way down from the terrorist threats, and that whole America still don't trust the Russians thing.

But for those who have been paying attention, Putins Ace behind his ear, is the fact, that he didn't actually build a 80 billion dollar Olympic village, he only built a set prop. And probably still has enough money and resources, to flex his muscles, and put his house back in order.

Don't under estimate a shirtless man with a flashlight in the middle of the night.

So far it was Obama trying to install a friendly gov in Russia's backyard.
