While I think Selfies are stupid and anyone taking a selfie just to be a part of some smaller greater popular movement. Is the dumbest thing I can thing of.
I have a problem with this guy doing that on a social level, he's a fucking putz in my opinion. However I don't see any crime being committed here. Though the details of how the selfie was taken and the other subjects in the photo, could change my mind on that. Just because he was a douche doing the same douchie stupid shit that every Tom Dick and Hussein is doing, doesn't mean that he's not allowed to do it, while operating on Joan Rivers. Unless his pause to take the selfie, somehow contributed to her croaking.

English only, please.
They objected because they took them high fiving with Anthony Weiner exposing himself in the operatory while Joan snoozed.

Was he teabagging Ms Rivers in the selfie?
Are you saying she gagged to death on testicle hair?

He doesn't know English.
I was able to decipher that the Captain doesn't believe it's a breech of professional ethics for a surgeon (or MD of any specialty), DURING A PROCEDURE, to stop and take a photo of him/herself with a celebrity patient.
Never mind that there's a sterile field that must be maintained during procedures. This is done to ensure little germies don't encroach upon an area that isn't normally open, possibly causing a life-threatening infection.
Never mind that, during surgeries or other procedures, best practices require that there are as few distractions as possible in order to ensure that the practitioner is able to focus on the task at hand. After all, they're not playing with tinker toys - they're performing invasive procedures that can turn bad quickly.
Never mind that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requires that patient's identifying information remain private, unless the patient gives express permission for the information to be used. Ms. Rivers could have signed a photo for the MD, or could have posed for a photo with him if he asked.
Instead, he stopped during a procedure, pulled out an unsterile camera and took the time to pose with her. I find it highly doubtful that after the took the pic, he covered the sterile field, removed his gloves, scrubbed up and replaced them all over again - and then was able to pick up where he left off without compromising the patient.
He breeched professional ethics. CaptainShuddup says

Yes it does.
He was a She.

The solution is clear outlaw Selfies.

Gender doesn't matter... it was inappropriate and unethical.

I agree. Clear outlaw selfies would be the solution. You wouldn't be able to see them - they're "clear," and this would obviously only apply to "outlaws."
I'm not sure if the technology is yet available to recognize "outlaws," versus everybody else. We would need to appoint a commission that determines the criteria for "outlaws," which would require millions of dollars in funding, political appointment, backbiting and squabbling, etc.
Perhaps photo-recognition software? Perhaps we could narrow it down by determining that everyone with a unibrow, face/neck tats, or other physical indicators are indicative of "outlaws." The software would need to immediately make the person clear, see-through, invisible, etc. It's a great idea and I wish I'd thought of it.
Either that, or the Cap'n can simply learn to use punctuation to get his point across.
Outlaws aren't the opposite of in-laws?
Hmmm. I didn't consider that. Clear INLAW selfies would solve those pesky surprise photos at family gatherings. I'm all for this. Where do I sign up?

Or smegma.
Ewwwwwwwww!
If this works, maybe they could give KimFuck a big wheel of smegma, and he'll think its rare cheese and choke to death.
