I beg to differ, Skype. I talk to myself all the time. It's the only way I can get an intelligent conversation on PatNet.
Funny picture but not at all true. It's been debunked a number of times. The table and chairs are to advertise the owners business.
@Patrick
It happened again. Remember a month or so ago when I wrote about warning messages I was getting when I'd click into certain posts. Well, it just happened on this thread. Here's the screen shot.
@Patrick. The warning comes up every time I either go in or submit a comment on this thread...
address has been blocked ? Is that a program you're running. I'm not trying to answer for Patrick, but what does it say on the red bar ? Very hard to read the whole thing so small with bad resolution
OMG! I cannot even type it out. I'm not sure if you can even see what I typed above. However, I just noticed that there's more than one... the warning messages looks the same, but it references different things each time, with different IPs listed as the offender.
Yes, it's the box you see at the bottom right. It reads:
what does it say literally on the red bar?
Maybe I should say, what is at the very top of the box, above where it says address is blocked ?
There you go. That's a program you are running. There's probably a way you can turn the security down a little or list patirick.net as trusted site.
Okay, but is it a concern that my antivirus software is identifying stuff uploaded to this page as a potential problem? One worth blocking?
Patrick will probably be interested to know that this site is triggering your antivirus software.
Maybe it has something to do with this being a very old thread, with infrequent activity ? It doesn't happen on other threads ?
i'm pretty sure this page itself is harmless, even with an image from a bad site.
OH yeah, I didn't get that pic was from funny-pics-fun.com and that when she copied the error message it actually reposted the pic.(because it included the offending URL)
It doesn't happen on other threads ?
When I first notified Patrick of this problem, it was happening when I clicked into two different threads. But then it miraculously stopped... So, I never got a screen shot of exactly what I was seeing. It disappears after a few seconds, and I don't know how to get it back. There's probably a log somewhere that shows more details... but I don't know where to find something like that.
Your software doesn't have issues with patrick.net. it just blocked you from seeing an image we all see. That's what that funny-pics-fun.com url was that was blocked. If it was very funny I would save a copy and repost it for you to see what you're missing.
It definitely isn't anything for you to worry about. Nothing you need to do on your end. IT just blocked you from seeing another website that this thread pointed to for an image.
i'm pretty sure this page itself is harmless
The American Pediatric Association declared this page a health hazard to the developing brains of children.
one day in college i was bored and looked over the encyclopedias. the first thing i noticed was the volume from Chicago to Death. just found an image to be sure i wasn't hallucinating way back then:
Ah Googling your memories.
I catch my self considering Google as a reference source to distant memories or inside jokes and colloquialisms that only me and the other person I'm trying to remember would have knowledge of.
Like "What was the name of that hot red head that lived down the street?"Or not was her name I suppose if I wanted to, I could look up past country records and see who lived there before or some other snooping. But more like what color was the dress she wore when I last saw her. It's weird what you catch your self considering to search Google for, if not just briefly for a millisecond. Stuff that if you could verify by Google that would be creepy.
