I don't say it's a bad investment, just do your own research and see how it fits your portfolio. My personal opinion, among the CA funds, NAC is the most attractive right now; I have a substantial holding. Had a couple other CA munis but swapped them for national funds, which have market yields > 6% right now (e.g. NZF).

Bonds have been in the last day. EM local currency bonds moved 7% down since yesterday. I don't remember a move like that. Is this a good buying opportunity or are we in a new world?

Good point! Thought I had thought of everything. Missed the debt situation.
Any problems the USA has will be on the Republicans.
There will be no Clinton to blame.

When the Chinese ballistic launched warhead slams into the USS Nimitz and kills 1000 sailors, it was because of a variety of technologies engineered from US plants that subcontracted to Chinese firms in the guidance system.

There was an article about these new Chinese Missiles. Why CNN and MSNBC did not report is part of their ongoing propaganda to protect their political allies, at the cost of the very nation that they claim to have an unbiased reporting viewpoint. Now we know for sure.

The US must become a nation not of democrats or republicans, we must work together in good faith. Repubs should not gloat, and Dems should not feel they are due their candidate because they believed this false propaganda. Verily we now see slivers of the methods of which the Russia became the USSR.

The recouping of jobs, the reduction of monster governments and regulations must be started.

76881   missing   2016 Nov 10, 8:23am

With bond funds, if your investment horizon equals the duration of the fund (check it on Morningstar) variations in interest rates are not important. If rates increase, bond prices fall but yields increase and over the duration of the fund the two cancel out. In my taxable account, where my muni funds are, I don't trade much, just buy with new cash and do tax harvesting now and then. WIth NAC, I'll wait a bit longer before buying more. CEF funds are like trains - once they start going in one direction it takes a while to stop them.

According to Edward Lambert, that won't help. It will help people, but not the GDP. That is what FDR ran into when he did the same. Jobs actually were fewer in 1939 than in 1931. Now, I am not saying it would not help people, but it will likely not help GDP because infrastructure times out. It cannot be sustained.

Infrastructure spending does not have to be sustained. It will jump start the economy.

"Democratic leaders—including emerging ones like a young, charismatic Arkansas lawyer named Bill Clinton—saw a fork in the road, and the path to victory was in abandoning working people."

Question: When Clinton was working on NAFTA did he realize the long term effect? When the debate with Perot was recorded, it shows a smug smile on Clintons face.

DID CLINTON FOREKNOW THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS, OR WAS JUST MAKING A WHAT HE THOUGHT WAS A GOOD DEAL.............?

You do realize that this demonstrates the hypocrisy of both the left and the right. Also, such hypocrisy is hardly surprising as its a core aspect of conservatism and the left and the right are both conservative camps. You don't hear liberals bitching about the election, and we certainly didn't get what wanted. Show me a video clip of Noam Chomsky saying that Trump is not his president.

Let's just hope the liberals learn something. So far, they're hamstering their asses off, blaming whiteness, white women, etc. instead of tight relationship with Banks, Outsourcing and Uncontrolled Borders.

I see a lot of doubling down. The only people that are saying the right things now were said it before the election, like Greenwald.

Leftists, not liberals. Remember, we liberals hated the Bush and Obama administration, and we hate both Trump and Hillary. And pretty much for all the same reasons, at least for three of those.

Liberals are the Bernie or Bust people and the Jill Stein people. And it looks like most of the Bernie or Bust people just stayed home, which is why voter turnout was so low and the Republicans took both chambers of Congress. They aren't the ones crying today.

Even you observe that Trump's electorate base are people who are celebrating mostly their emotional buttons getting pushed and others observed they all want to join hands to scream out a big "FUCK YOU" to their mostly miserable plights of lost homes, retirements, careers, etc. and "FUCK YOU" to the poor people who have been continually thrown in their faces to account for the big drain on their lives.

I don't think I said that. I see a tremendous number of people blaming Trump on idiots, racists, uneducated, etc... And you now "emotional buttons getting pushed".
All these people are stuck in their bubbles and refusing to recognize that there is indeed a real problem that is not due to people being emotional and idiots. The middle class is rapidly disappearing and leaving behind 60% poor, maybe only the top 20% actually ok, and the top 0.1% making up like bandits.

As far as what I said above, this is clear: Trump has shown himself a far more competent campaigner than most thought he would.
But now the campaign is over, this is a different bull game: actual policy, administration and DC politics sausage making.

If congress republicans think they will continue their game and change nothing - which they will almost certainly do - then we may well be going toward a national catastrophe.

Yes, President Marine Le Pen is now more possible

The underlying trends that carried Trump to power are also present in France, and they are likely to fuel an inordinately strong performance by Le Pen next May — perhaps even her victory.

It's no surprise that Hillary lost and Bernie would have won. Pick the most hated senator instead of the most liked one? And pick the establishment candidate over the anti-establishment on during the biggest anti-establishment election in U.S. history? Stupid doesn't begin to cover this.

WTF would you have us learn? That Ayn Rand rules? That trickle down is the greatest economic theory ever? That's a far cry from the guarantees we and even taxpayers abroad are subsidizing for the .1% who appoint themselves as winners via political donations.

How about "Don't take money from Wall Street and Banks for speeches and appearances moments before you announce your Presidential Campaign"
