I was blessed to work on the Space Shuttle as part of Rockwell STS. I cannot count or name all the subcontracts, ( I only dealt with 3-4), but there was so many jobs all over the States. Beyond the Rocket Engines from Utah, parts from Indiana,100s of electronics LRUs, there was even subcontractors for the APU which I dealt with. The area around Downey CA was a hub-bub of technology, many high tech and lower tech vendors near by.

Most of the electronics were designed and made in USA, and this trickled in from HP, trickled down from private sector Silicon Valley (When Silicon Valley produced most of the ICs in the world).

STS was like a society onto itself - and the people I met there were some of the smartest, hardest working, and herioc people I have ever worked with. And I have never seen such productivity (even though some of the new private sector space firms are more cost efficient) from a Government contractor.

Obama saved nothing. In fact, he scaled up the jobs departures and made in-sourcing American jobs to foreigners Great again. Hell, he just expanded the fucking H1B program by executive order last week! A more anti-jobs POTUS is hard to imagine. He didn't have the first clue how such jobs could be saved, didn't want to try, and openly mocked Trump for caring or promising to do something. Obama is a failure and we will all be better off with him permanently consigned to the golf course and away from the reins of power.

Instead of gloating about the value of assets, you should meditate on how the value of homes is based on competition for increasingly rare available units, whereas the job market is based on competition for an increasingly fragile and low income. It's diverging that way.

As for pensions, their only value is the time the working age population can afford to dedicate to the support of old people.
