We require gov't ID to drive, buy alcohol, enter a bar/casino, etc., but not to vote? Anyone who argues against that is fucking retarded. It makes me embarrassed to be human.

78475   anonymous   2016 Dec 21, 8:23pm

The concept of the electoral college is a check and balance to protect against one way of retarded groupthink dominating the country. A great example of this is California, where so many residents are brainwashed into certain Leftist thinking that makes no sense as CA tries to build a dependent, socialist society. Lazy humans will take the easy way out and will vote Left to ensure their welfare lifestyle continues, and upper class liberals will vote Left out of media-imposed guilt and trendiness. As more residents move to California, more and more people are infected with this brainwashing thereby yielding more popular votes in favor of such ridiculousness.

A true democracy doesn't exist for this very reason. Humans are insecure and needy by nature, which means they will attach themselves to what's popular in their particular circles as well as to what politically and financially serves them, vs having the courage to assess issues or candidates objectively on their merits as to what's right for the country.

If we get rid of the electoral college, we'd have to get rid of the way we have the Senate and the House because both houses are built on the same concept of keeping highly populous states and municipalities from overrunning the rest with potentially harmful ideas such as CA hating and voting to tax coal, or Ohio hating and voting to tax entertainment, or Oregon hating and voting to tax oil, or New York hating and voting to tax tech companies.

78476   anonymous   2016 Dec 22, 7:10am

So are you saying we need to redo the way the House and Senate are structured? Based on your thesis, we should do a "Prop" system (i.e., popular vote) for all federal laws, vs the representation model.

The TSA is selling the IHL gloves with the best bouquet on the open market in chilled containers with small electric bulbs to heat them again to optimal fragrance, a cigar and cognac. Shameless.

This pussy grabbing is getting out of hand. Or in hand. I'm confused.

Thank goodness. That must have been extremely satisfying.

Where are the media stories about MTV "News" running a segment telling White Guys What Resolutions to make for New Year's?

That wasn't a few guys at one schools' ballgame, but a national cable channel that primarily focuses on 12-14 year olds.

The OP isn't fake news but it's a great example of the media covering a few white rascists, but completely ignoring anti-white racism and misandry aimed at children on a major network that is utterly explicitly racist.

78481   MisdemeanorRebel   2016 Dec 22, 1:47pm

There was plenty of racism, mostly among the left. A little on the right, I agree. The nutty "entryist" plot of Stormfags, NeoReax, and the hard right of the alt-right went down in flames within hours of the election. Spencer only got 200 attendees despite the alt-right being a subject of big news coverage these past few months, and many of those were media.

There are fewer people in White Supremacist groups than in the Church of Satan.

There was also plenty of classism by professionals and elites against the (white) working class.

Finally, millions of whites that turned out for Obama stayed home or voted for Trump. How does the Media and Shitty Candidate Apologists explain that away by racism.

They do the same thing to white teams.

The Warrensburg district's superintendent Scott Patrick said in an interview with the Star that the tradition of the student section turning its back on the opposing team is a longstanding one, but that this incident was different.

This incident was different only because the legacy press is so hungry for self-justification in the face of defeat.

Or maybe something about the Trump sign being held up, against an all black team, given that White supremacists, KKK etc, backed Trump. This is more than a month after the election, so what is the Trump sign supposed to mean ?

Please explain it to us Patrick.

78486   RealEstateIsBetterThanStocks   2016 Dec 22, 5:11pm

how is trump blamed because one of the idiots brought a trump sign? how do we know the butthurt democrats or Soros didn't stage this to begin with? after all the corruption scandals that led to the republican party dominating the WH, the house and senate?

these "trump disaster" stories are getting old fast.

sounds like the media is extremely desperate and running out of materials to keep the delusional liberals occupied with fantasies of how trump is going to be a big failure.

without stupid stories like these the liberal can't function for the whole day. NEED NEW TRUMP DISASTER STORY NOW FOR MY DAILY COMMUTE NOW NOW NOW.

It's painful to see how divided this nation is. Let me be clear....
-Trump is going bend the nation over and have his way with it.
-Hillary would have also screwed the nation.. maybe somewhat slower and with more PC'ness.

Google Mark Blyth...he explains how the establishment has been screwing over Americans for the last 30 years. This includes both the democrat and republican administrations.

Meanwhile everyone continues to bicker....

That's not true. States would lose representation because in your fantasy land, a few states would overrun the rest. Remember what I said about groupthink? You'd also lose the competition and diversity of ideas that all 50 states contribute to.

Question for all....Do we as a country need States? why not just have counties and cities? What real purpose do States serve?

Good question. I think States exist to allow different ideas and laws to co-exist under one nation. Having all laws be applied to the entire national population would create too much national bitterness and divisiveness. Today, the federal gov't has way too much power IMO, which is why the country is so pissed and divided every time a President gets elected. If we drastically reduced power at the federal level and left more power to the states and municipalities (like it used to be), the country wouldn't be so pissed.

What year was this?

When was the last act of fatal terrorism committed by a KKK group?

Who and when was the most fatalities of any terror attack in US history for what reason?
Who and when took part in the worst shooting in US History for what reason?

How long ago were they?

Thanks for your answers in advance. Just want to keep things in perspective.

Look at North Carolina. The financial powers see no reason to allow any challenge to their supremecy. Look at South Dakota how police were brought in from several states all at your own expense for the single purpose of torturing protestors for the benefit of Koch-backed and GTBTP Trump-backed oil profit efficiencies.

Obama is the President. Where is he? You know that Hillary was a fanatical fracker, right? She pushed it in Poland, even, as SOS.

Any answers to my questions about who killed recently and for what reason?

You do know that in the US, that Islam is the main cause of terrorism fatalities, and all other causes combined - from pro-life to tax to ultraleftwing activism - is less than half of Islamic causes. Muslims make up no more than 2% of the population at best, whereas the US is at least 2/3 Christian of some kind.

That's not including the Beltway Snipers, who were Muslims, whose diaries were full of Koranic quotes, and who gave Islam as their reason - not classified by the FBI as Islamic Terror mostly to protect George W Bush's "legacy".

sought support for the device in 2013 from a Ku Klux Klan grand wizard in North Carolina who was an FBI informant.

Key word: SOUGHT
Other key words: FBI Informant.

Of course, this is one Right Wing White from a pool of 2/3 of the population, compared to a far greater number of terrorists from the less than 2% Muslim population who have killed twice as many Americans since 9/11 than all other causes combined.

Grab them by the pussy Trump says

Investigators began tracking Crawford in 2012 after he approached two local Jewish groups with his idea for how they could defeat their enemies using a mobile X-ray weapon. Prosecutors said Crawford also sought support for the device in 2013 from a Ku Klux Klan grand wizard in North Carolina who was an FBI informant.

Don't know how much a white supremacist he is, then. A Mobile X-ray weapon?

How come when a Terrorist and gang of snipers pledges their life to ISIS/Al Qaeda, we get every excuse for why he was "really nuts" or "Struggling with being gay".

But when it's clearly a mentally ill man who thinks he can make an X-ray weapon, and approaches BOTH Jewish Groups and the KKK, it's only right wing extremism.

I did a long post on this using the FBI's official numbers (which don't count the Beltway snipers as Islamic Terror) a few months back, I think even before the Islamist Nightclub Shooting in Orlando, and there were more deaths from Islamists than Right Wingers.

Which is shocking when you consider the potential source material for White Conservatives is at least 65% of the country, whereas the source material for Islamic Attacks is less than 2% of the country. The Islamic body count is even more distorted when fatalities from Islamic Terror outnumber all fatalities from ALL other causes, not just Right Wing.

Again, as I noted in the introduction, this is not to dismiss the threat of right wing terrorism and its very deadly consequences for some, but only to add perspective to the claims being made. Right wing terrorism is more deadly for Americans only if you add a number of very limiting parameters (e.g. excluding the victims of 9/11, ignoring “lone wolf” attacks without solid connections to groups like al-Qaeda and their affiliates, etc…). But if you lift those limitations, and apply equal standards, then the raw and unfiltered numbers of deaths of Americans due to Islamic extremism in the United States over the last fifteen years dwarf the numbers attributable to right wing extremism by a ratio of over 62 to 1. Even if you leave out 9/11 victims and just focus on the ideological statements and goals of the attackers, then the deaths of Americans due to Islamic extremism still outnumber the deaths attributable to right wingers (which reveals an even greater disparity when compared with population groups). If we move beyond America’s borders, then the disparity becomes far greater, with somewhere around 90% of the world’s terrorism related deaths attributable to Islamic extremism, and only a fraction of 1% attributable to right wing extremism.

78510   marcus   2016 Dec 24, 5:26pm

Yeah, cable TV being less popular has done zero to diminish demand for high speed internet. In fact you didn't really need great internet if you had cable TV, but if you're going to be streaming a lot of content as an alternative to cable TV, then you must have high speed internet, and cable companies are the major providers of high speed internet.

78511   anonymous   2016 Dec 24, 7:37pm

The problem with using the cable or phone companies as an example is that installation of infrastructure is needed and requires more regulation as to who can use it and for what. So, consolidation of these types of companies can make sense because of the infrastructure complexity issue, but that means we'd have to regulate them more like a utility so that price-gouging doesn't occur. With the advent of satellite TV and cellullar, this is changing because fiber/cable/phone lines to the neighborhood are no longer required, however, satellites and cell towers are now the focus of "who owns what rights to use it".

I think it's hard to apply the same principles from the cable/phone industry, which operates more like a utility, to the healthcare industry. Different animals that require different regulation (or lack thereof).
