That's when a retiring administrator takes another state job for a couple years and then retires from that as well reaping double pensions for life. Because it is...Jersey certainly has cheaper gas than California, but when you figure out tolls on parkway/turnpike, entering holland tunnel, lincoln tunnel, GWB or parking in city or in garages in jersey city/NY and/or getting a bus pass in addition to costs of owning car, I would think that the 1.70 or so per gallon diff between NJ and CA is not that big a deal.

Only people like my parents who basically work in same town they live and don't use toll roads, buses or drive into city/park everyday benefit from relatively cheap gas prices.

All things considered, transportation costs higher in NY/NJ vs CA
