Those aren't allies, those were recipients to the midnight window at the American worker and tax payer's expense.

What does it mean "replace USA with China"?
Are they going to send illegals to China?
Are they going to send finished goods to China?

Tim Aurora says

First it was TPP ( Japan, Austrailia which are key Washington allies). Now it is Mexico. All will replace USA with China and that leaves a maor headache for future presidents to deal with.

Why do we give a fuck about this again?

You people and Trump do not understand the importance of trade.

Trump is dead wrong on this point.

Timmy you do realize that before Trump there was no "This President" and the "Last President" or the "President before that".
There was just one cohesive establishment NWO set up by Bush Sr. that every President until now was rigged and destined to win by the establishment.
Every election since Reagan before this last one was purely bogus. Thanks to Twitter, and Trump knowing how to Marshall key people to the right regions to squash and quell any election fraud attempts.

Bush Sr. tried to have Reagan killed so he could conduct his Cash for Guns Iran/Contra operation as the commander in chief.
But then Ronnie got Alzheimer and he let him live. Clinton was selected to run against him just in case. Just as Edwards was chosen to run against Bush, then Obama and McCain were hand selected. Nice and easy no surprises.

Until Sarah Palin went off script and what Presidential campaign have you ever seen where the Party leadership the co-candidate and the establishment pundits all savagely destroyed that person to the detriment of their own campaign to suppress her going off message. Which was a more hardline stance than the token space filler McCain was running on. Still to this day McCain does damage control on the establishment. He hates Trump for doing what he was supposed to do in 2008.

USA cannot fight the world. We need allies like everybody else.

What does not agreeing to bad trade deals(ask Michigan about NAFTA), have to do with losing allies? And what does any of this have to do with war? You seem to be making some VERY broad assumptions.

80149   RWSGFY   2017 Jan 26, 12:04pm

Yeah, the idea that free trade with Australia and Japan is baaaaaad is definitely puzzling. I bet most of people thought that TPP was about free trade with China. Obama's admin did very poor job explaining what the fuck TPP was.

80150   RWSGFY   2017 Jan 26, 12:05pm

But we won't lose Japan as an ally: they rely on US for their protection from the biggest bully in the region - China. Besides, our trade relationships with them are pretty good even w/o TPP.

80151   fdhfoiehfeoi   2017 Jan 26, 12:06pm

This argument makes zero sense. If you have products that other countries want, export them. If they have products you want, import them. Since when does that require a bazillion page document unless you have something else on the agenda.

80152   fdhfoiehfeoi   2017 Jan 26, 12:11pm

Of course stocks have gone up, look who's running things(GS). Get ready for another spectacular blowout.. er bailout with taxpayers footing the bill.

80153   Heraclitusstudent   2017 Jan 26, 12:11pm

Tim Aurora says

TPP will replace China with USA. At this point China seems to be more reliable. Mexico has a good working relationship with China. What happens if they allow China to build a military base.

You say that like it is replacing the US with something equivalent.
The US has end demand, China doesn't.
China is not going to send car factories to Mexico whatever deal they make.
Mexico is not going to swear allegiance to China whatever deal they make.
Why would they allow China to build a military base in Mexico? They are not under threat of invasion and China in any case hardly look like a partner they can trust for protection.

After the Trump presidency, nobody will trust USA anymore

Well, most other leaders are probably hoping thing will "get back to normal" after Trump is gone.

Tim Aurora says

And believe me, China is think about encircling USA.

China does absolutely nothing for the world. Its the apex of self interest. They are probably even less trusted than Trump.
All they do is threaten its neighbors for nationalistic propaganda sake. Something that may in time turn to real war.

Besides, China is circling the drain economically. All they are doing is increasing debt, while capital is feeling and their economy slowing.
Trump trying to close the tap may well send them into a tailspin.

Too bad we forgot the Federated States of Micronesia and their 3 Fish and Game Workers they sent to Iraq. Or a 100 Bulgarian MPs or whatever. Or the Latvian Potato Guards "Spud Defenders" Company - 80 men, AKA half the Latvian Standing Army.

How many of our dear NATO Allies are still helping in Afghanistan?

That being said, here is one of the biggest countries, a G7 member and ally of an entire Century:
Theresa May excited to work with Trump

Meanwhile, #Brexit-wise, countries from South Africa to New Zealand are begging for trade agreements with the UK. Something their EU membership has hampered.

80160   MisdemeanorRebel   2017 Jan 26, 1:22pm

Also, the idea of Japan aligning with China is laughable. What the Japanese ARE starting to do is amp up and modernize their Navy and Air Force.

Maybe I do bring in broad assumptions. But if US turns out to be a unrelaible partner which will change stance on a dime, other coutries will look for alternate partners. China is more than ready to fil that gap. In fact they are craving for it.

Good, let them. We've spent the last 100+ years as imperialists, a change to neutralists who mind there own business, and let others do the same is long overdue.

The Japanese now have some of the most advanced anti-missile platforms in the world. They were joint venture projects with ... cough ... the USA.

Sure you are. So what is your plan for military protection? Contract with the United States Army, Navy, Marines, National Guard, Coast Guard, and Border Patrol?

Border patrol used to be state run, and wait times were WAY DOWN. And maybe you aren't aware this country was founded by defeating the greatest empire of the time without a standing army. States volunteered troops, and when those men had done their stint they left, replacement or not, regardless of if we were winning or losing.

Think Switzerland, no standing army, everyone does a militia stint, everyone keeps a military grade rifle at home.

I'm starting to like that Theresa chick:

"There is nothing inevitable about conflict between Russia and the West. And nothing unavoidable about retreating to the days of the Cold War. But we should engage with Russia from a position of strength. And we should build the relationships, systems and processes that make cooperation more likely than conflict – and that, particularly after the illegal annexation of Crimea, give assurance to Russia’s neighbouring states that their security is not in question. We should not jeopardise the freedoms that President Reagan and Mrs Thatcher brought to Eastern Europe by accepting President Putin’s claim that it is now in his sphere of influence."

Not at all, we spent Billions and Billions on protecting our allies, while giving them one-sided trade deals that hurt the average American. Meanwhile our Navy and Air Force are ossified and there aren't any viable replacement classes or models of destroyers and jets on the line that haven't turned out to be overbudget, underperforming, and years late to boot.

Germany and other powerful, rich NATO countries spend less than the 2% of GDP minimum of Defense they're supposed to pay under NATO Regulations. We spent Billions to fill in the Gap, and the Germans spent the rest on improving their economic competitiveness via infrastructure, education, etc. investments. Which then helps them out compete our Economy.

Same with Japan. The save billions on defense, put it into R&D and Infrastructure and Export Promotion thanks to one-sided trade deals where they put up massive tariff and non-tariff trade barriers to US Goods. I don't care about rice or corn sales because they're commodities, not value added, and Big Agra doesn't employ even 1% of the US Population.

Trading Radios for Rice is what 3rd world countries do, not modern countries.

Baltic states in Eastern Europe

Germany, France, and Poland (not counting Italy, Holland, etc.) have ~200M people between them, more than the population of Russia. Germans make great tanks, far more powerful than Russia by itself. I look forward to them defending the Baltics and the European taxpayer paying the bill.

I like Theresa. I hope the handful of British regiments join the German ones in the Baltics. Wealthy Europe has about twice the population of the US and makes up most of the wealthiest countries in the World. Germany has tens of billions in big trade surpluses to spend on new Panzers and Jets.

Better yet, we can stand by and let the Europeans do most of the fighting, then jump in at the end game and take all the credit with the least death and debt.

You know, being smart.

Also, I'm looking forward to Europeans being the ones who have to intervene instead of making us do it, while they criticize the whole thing. Fuck that.

How hard is that?

Simply make the Government and crony companies the administration writes checks to our GDP and you fund it with disproportionate taxes on the producers, and by scrapping dollars and fivers off America's dinner plate and suck a few hundred a month out of the gas tanks so you can finance the winning stock market you want with the never silent Quantitative Easing money machine.

Let's make it simple:

EU Population: Over 700 Million
Russia Population: Less than 150 Million

4 of the G8 are NATO members: France, Germany, Italy, and the UK

Russia's GDP is about the same as Italy, alone.

Why do we need NATO again? Hell, why does NATO need us?

To give Georgetown Graduates a sandbox to play with their IR theories in?
It doesn't do all that much for Lockheed or Boeing, since they have their own fighters and civilian airliners, in fact Europe is a major aerospace competitor. So it's not even the Military Industrial Complex Cash.
Almost every European country runs a big fat Trade Surplus against us, Germany and France very much so. SO it's not a valuable net export market.
Being a NATO member and overpaying our share of defense is just an excuse American Elites use to expand their influence, which has no-to-minimal benefits for ordinary Americans.
