80918   HEY YOU   2017 Feb 14, 9:19am

Tow that sucker to an American port. We can get rid of ice makers.

Hashtag politics... lol ... that says it all. When observable reality itself is political.

80920   HEY YOU   2017 Feb 14, 10:04am

Blame it on SUMMER & FMTT!

Reminds me of the shrinkage of the human brain.

The Human Race must start on a multicountry R&D and implementation plan for stopping global man made emissions.

This includes, but not limited to:

- Development of nanoscale/micro/microscale Hydrogen extraction technologies, small scale solar or efficient electrolysis.
- Advanced molecular sieves for hydrogen filtering/separation.
- Spectrally selective micro particles that are ecologically compatible with upper atmosphere, sea-life, and land life, preferably a carbon based non toxic photonic material.
- Compact safe Nuclear power http://terrapower.com/ and others
- Thin and flexible solar, thermosolar, scalable to acre solar sheets. Cells should have conductive posts to jumper damaged tiles within the acre sized sheets.
- Advanced waste heat reclamation
- Others

The US spend $700B on military and $850B annually on legal costs. Its completely reasonable, no mandatory that we should be ashamed and take great notice of the Malinvestements that the US is making.

Suggest immediate planning of R&D in all these, areas, 10% of scientists working on DOD can consult, and Lawyers would be fine if they capped their hourly rate to $325/hour given the flux (pun intended) the world is under.

Histrionics much?

That's a graphic you idiot!

I'm sure the Myans and Incas had wonderful charts too, to get everyone to go with random communal sacrifices to appease the global warming gods.

80924   fdhfoiehfeoi   2017 Feb 14, 10:35am

Wait, so ice melts in the summer..?

80925   fdhfoiehfeoi   2017 Feb 14, 10:40am

Global warming is an ongoing event that has been happening since the 50's right? So well there may be small dips and rises, the overall trend should be melting? If that's true, then why is every news story from 2014 about ice at RECORD levels. I small increase I could see, but RECORD!?

Get serious, you're just a bunch of wankers who want to cry about shit you can't fix, rather than do anything to make your world cleaner.

80926   Heraclitusstudent   2017 Feb 14, 11:07am

A nuclear winter could fix that.

80927   Tenpoundbass   2017 Feb 14, 11:25am

Obama told Putin "Wait until I'm elected I will have more flexibility"
So fuck off!

I agree. Hillary getting Millions for arranging that 20% of Uranium could be sold to Russia was an act of treason.

So was hiding the 911 Commission Report section of Saudi Arabia.

So was visa-express for Saudi Nationals which meant they arrived with no interview given by US Embassy personnel beforehand.

80931   zzyzzx   2017 Feb 14, 11:36am

How does this compare to previous middle of the summer ice sheets?
If the ice sheet is gone, how come sea levels aren't noticeably higher?
Are you going to blame this on the faulty dam in CA as well?

No, by all means. Let's not worry about what the current President is doing. Let's continue to focus on what happened years ago.

Let's pretend that it's OK that Trump is just as bad as Clinton even though you guys had 5 threads a day about how bad Clinton is. Now it's OK since it's Trump.

Did anybody else notice Putin teabagging Trump this morning? He said that canning Flynn would have very bad impact on relations with Russia. Will Trump tell him to mind his own business or will he just thank him for the love tap and adjust his behavior?

Fake News. Putin was worried the US Establishment is getting very paranoid.

A good point given all the McCarthyism and Bias we've seen.

As a president he could negotiate before or after ( if he became the president) the election. He was in his rights to communicate with him at the time and not infringing on any other administration.

Show me where it's a crime for a PEOTUS and his incoming admin to ask a foreign ambassador to delay retaliatory sanctions.

By the Way, Logan did much the same thing - the Quaker negotiated with Tallyrand for a French pledge not to impress US Sailors. And like the Democrats, Adams was butthurt and got his pals in Congress to pass the Logan Act, which is a dead letter law that has never resulted in a single successful prosecution in 200 years.

Why was Adams butthurt? He was Anti-French, just like the Democrats are Pro-Saudi and Anti-Russia.

It's not 'the answer'. But it does "show" an actual willingness to work toward addressing the problem. It "shows" value and building in "a" cost to what we are doing.

Just agreeing we should "do something" appears to be at issue here. A carbon tax is small potatoes.

I think this is a typical liberal do-gooder impulse. We need to "show" we care. We need to "do something" even if it won't have any appreciable impact to the problem other than to make us "feel" good about ourselves. Worse, this doing something can cause real human harm. Any meaningful carbon reduction program is going to have to include the 3rd world and countries like India and China. Is it really fair to make it harder for these billions of people from trying to claw their way to 2nd and 1st world living conditions?

The entire span of human history is about migration adapting to changing climates and environmental conditions. Less than 10,000 years ago, much of the US was under miles of ice. I believe we have time to innovate and can adapt or outrun the worst aspects of climate change.
