It requires that others understand why your position is correct. Any deception completely defeats that purpose. This is why I am morally and ethically superior to you. You frequently lie because you believe that convincing others is the end goal and it justifies any means. To me, understanding why true things are true is the end goal, and deception can never serve that purpose.

An ad hominem is an irrelevant attack on a person to discredit his argument rather than attacking his arguments. Judging a person to be dishonest for repeatedly posting debunked lies that you have just demonstrated are lies with ample evidence from multiple sources is not the ad hominem fallacy. If you can't tell the difference between those two things, that's your failing.
