A declassified House Intelligence Committee memo reveals how the unverified Fusion GPS dossier—opposition research paid for by the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC)—was used by the FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ) to obtain a FISA surveillance warrant to spy on Trump campaign volunteer Carter Page.

The memo details how the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court was intentionally left in the dark about the source of the allegations that led it to approve the spy warrant in October 2016.

In one instance, the FBI and DOJ used a Yahoo! News article based on the Trump dossier as evidence to extend its FISA warrant, despite the unverified information having come from the same source.

After the initial FISA warrant was approved, dozens, if not hundreds of so-called unmasking requests were made by senior members of then-President Barack Obama’s administration.

It also opened the floodgate to a number of intelligence leaks to media organizations, which served to turn public opinion against Donald Trump.

Continuing well after Trump was elected, the spying and leaking raise serious concerns about apparent efforts by the Obama administration, the DNC, and the Clinton campaign to prevent Trump from being elected and to delegitimize him once he was in office.

Nonsense. The link primarily discusses TARP funds abuses. No one went to jail for knowingly creating and selling fraudulent securities. Or giving them bogus ratings. Even money laundering for terrorists and Mexican drug cartels would not be prosecuted by Holder. And there was the Treasury Secretary who presided over Goldman Sachs when they committed fraud of such magnitude that they had to pay a $5 billion settlement.

Most of the media attacking the Republicans now. Fox almost completely quiet. Hannity outright lying on his website in a way that can be refuted completely in a single sentence. This isn't spinning the way Republicans thought it would. So sad.

I'm not even going to dignify the subject of the Republican's memo with rebuttals from links and arguments.

Reality is anti-Trump and so therefore to be attacked.

Former British MI-6 intelligence officer Christopher Steele was a no-show on Monday at a London courthouse, reports Fox News. Steele was expected for a long-requested deposition in a multi-million dollar civil case brought against Buzzfeed, which published a salacious and unverified "Trump-Russia" dossier.

Steele may have skipped out over concerns that he would be asked questions about his contacts with various media outlets in connection with at least two dossiers he had a hand in assembling and disseminating - for which he stands accused by Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) of misleading the FBI about his contacts with journalists at various news outlets during the 2016 election.

"There is substantial evidence suggesting that Mr. Steele materially misled the FBI about a key aspect of his dossier efforts, one which bears on his credibility," reads the unredacted document that refers Steele for criminal prosecution in the US.

Michael Cohen or Carter Page should sue him for libel in London, where the laws are a lot tougher. Since he himself leaked to the press, he can't say he was just providing a product to a client.

The senators are also accusing Christopher Steele of lying either to the FBI or to the British courts.
