A veritable minefield of Progressive trip wires and slogans. Take away the sloganeering, and there's isn't even a modicum of debased reasoning left.

I actually agree 100% that rich private colleges such as Harvard fuel inequality. Megarich can buy their kids into there, where they will be passed no matter how stoopid they are (see GWBush and Yale). In these colleges they will network with other rich and powerful to later screw over everyone else.
The idea that thses colleges foster right wing beliefs though is not supported by facts. Ms Sotomayer and Obama anyone...

Good way to find out which campuses have crazy prodessors.

Because it says a lot about school culture.

The rich classes do need a properly versed butler class of one percenters but sub .01 percenters to attend to their many bureaucratic needs and to treat their various maladies. That's why so many of the peasants are let in the Ivies, while the ensconced dynastic RichFucks stick to their private clubs, psychopath calling cards and high signs.

Did you look at Sarah Giordano's profile?

She seeks to "Challenge Science" by showing it's Racist and Colonialist origins.

Yeah, that's dumbing down all right. For the Social Justice Revolution.

This is one of the rare occasions I might support the nationalization of some of the Ivy Leagues on grounds of meritocracy, or at least regulating that 85% of their intake be completely academic merit (not sports, not alumni, not race).

Not in Arizona. Had very average temps, plus coolest June in recent memory.

GW, why do you hate me!?

Skiing in Tahoe in July this year. Yep, really warm here too!

One fun thing is to add Hell Michigan to your Weather App tracking list. Then when someone says "it's hotter than Hell around here" you can reply with "hold on, let me check ... nope! Hell is only 84 degrees right now, see!" And in the winter time if someone says "... when Hell freezes over" you can check and reply with "hold on, let me check ... actually, Hell is frozen over right at this moment!"

Great times!

2019 promises to be colder than 2018 which was colder than 2017 which was colder than 2016 which was hotter than 2015 by .004 degrees.

Looks like the global temperature peaked a couple of years ago.
105010   SunnyvaleCA   2019 Sep 23, 2:11pm

I think HEYYOU accidentally brought up a useful point: Much of the world's pollution is caused by a small number of people. Carbon emissions might not be a good example, but think about other types of air pollution... that one person with an old 2-stroke leaf blower puts more of many pollutants into the air in a single 15 minute blow than my car commuting for a week. That's one argument against California's ever-more-strict car requirements; we're at the point of negligible returns and it would be far better to concentrate on a few gross polluters.
105011   Booger   2019 Sep 23, 2:13pm

Still enjoying beach weather in the Northeast! I hope that it's warm enough to go some more in October.

I think many Republicans would love to abolish FEMA. Just as Ron Paul suggested, it's no business of the federal government to bail out bad behavior; it only encourages more.

That said, if you did a Democrat -vs- Republican head count you'd see that, by far and away, the Democrats get a lot more FEMA relieve than Republicans. We're still subsidizing Katrina-ravaged New Orleans.

Any report brought by MSM is media's fault as if their Job is to support Trump. Ironically it the Republican media stooges like Fox new and Sean Hannity lead the way

The issue is when MSM goes crazy over some completely unsubstantiated story. Sean Hannity basically just points out that the story is unsubstantiated. A few days later, when the unsubstantiated story turns out to be baseless, Hannity then points out that the story (now completely missing in the MSM) was bogus.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

2. A President can do whatever he wants
Argument is shifted from right and wrong to President has the right to do so

The "Repubs, Fox, etc." usually cite The Constitution. I know... old document written by dead white men. (They weren't dead when the wrote it, but they are dead now. Just wanted to clarify!)

And, after all, The Constitution was written by white people for the benefit of white people. And that's why, ummm..., that's why Koreans and Jews are so successful in the USA. Yeah, that's it.

Link to back that up?

That's a tricky one, but I'm willing to support killing FEMA just on a hunch. :-)

Wouldn't you agree that most of hurricane relief goes to "large costal cities," which are almost exclusively liberal "paradises"? Which cities make the news after Hurricanes? Does New Orleans ring a bell? Even Houston, which received major FEMA aid recently, has a large (and increasing) democratic base.

Note that I'm referring to FEMA support here, not all the farm (and other) subsidies.

On a side note, I'd be for getting rid of the farm and other subsidies as well.
105017   SunnyvaleCA   2019 Sep 23, 3:20pm

Hm... it does seem like those in "tornado alley" get a lot of FEMA $$$. Maybe there are a large number of small incidents (small compared to a category-5 hurricane — obviously not small to you if your house is demolished). Those small incidents don't really make the news cycle but they add up over time.

There is no global warming. Bloomberg is just another fake alarmist lately, dude should go back to banning pepsi or something, worked out so well for him.
105019   FortWayneAsNancyPelosiHaircut   2019 Sep 23, 4:11pm

Let me compare.

Most universities are ran by liberals to a point where social studies became utter garbage instead of education.
But a single website probably built by 2 guys in their garage is a problem.

We are comparing 100000 vs 2, seems kind of one sided.

I've seen those videos of liberals protesting, they did it in many universities, torn down many lectures. Those Jordan Peterson videos do show that off pretty well, where those nice lefties show up to disrupt everything. And there are many others, Ben Shapiro needed security guards to not get killed on one campus. Talk about liberals destroying education.

I'll ask again, without expecting valid answers, does anyone know of any impeachable high crimes or misdemeanors our president has committed?

Didn't think so.
105026   Shaman   2019 Sep 24, 11:27am

What’s interesting about this latest “scandal” involving Biden and the Ukraine...is that not only is it unsubstantiated, but it’s placing a spotlight on Biden’s corrupt and shady dealings as Vice President. When the facts are released (after media coverage intensifies to frenzy levels) and the President is found to have committed no wrongs, everyone will still remember that Joe Biden did some sleazy deals in the Ukraine with his son.
Biden’s poll numbers are already dropping like a rock. Warren’s victory looks assured.

Trump smiles: used the media to eliminate his most dangerous opponent once again!

Does anyone think these idiots have already thrown in the towel on 2020(I mean seriously...youre really gonna run Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren for fucking POTUS?)?

Might as well impeach if President Trump is going to win no matter what.

Furthermore, are these boobs actually admitting that most polling is utter bullshit, and that Rasmussen's likely voter poll is the accurate one?

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/trump_administration/prez_track_sep24?fullbrowser

And the one that makes me question everything....Number of Democrats who think the economy is doing well is polling in the 30's!!!! WTLF?!?!?!

How on earth can one believe that the best economy of any of our lifetimes is doing anything but good or excellent? I'm not willing to concede Democrats are that stupid, so I'm calling BS on the poll.

Here's a fun research project....

Look at a map of the USA colored by voter id requirements. Here's one for example:
https://ballotpedia.org/Voter_identification_laws_by_state

Now look at a map of the USA colored by states the Trump won. Here's an example:

105036   SunnyvaleCA   2019 Sep 24, 4:04pm

From the "article":
Ponzi World (Over 3 Billion NOT Served)

Um... last I looked there were only about 350 million USA citizens. I would expect over 6 billion not served by the person elected to serve the interests of USA citizens.
