Didn't realize Trump had pulled all troops out of Middle East, stopped droning civilians to death, and said no to our massive attack("defense") budget.

He's the first president in 16 years to have NOT started a new war in his first term. If he changes his mind and fucks that up, fuck him - he's just another asshole. One year left, and we'll see.

I bet he's going to go 8 years without starting a new war, and shutting down at least 2 of them. Maybe it's hopium, but here's to hope. I'll admit the day I'm wrong that I was wrong. I hope I'm not.

Not starting isn't the same thing as:

Also, evern imperialists have their limit on how many countries they can fuck up at once. And probably just as important, there would be strong popular sentiment against starting a new war

Not starting a war is good!

Starting a war is bad.

I'm not looking for perfection. I'm looking for improvement, and this is the first HINT of improvement I've seen in 16 years. Good enough.

This is why Trump was elected. Because he didn't say stupid shit like this:

www.youtube.com/embed/irqiUfcVMTk;

Clinton was a Neocon. She voted for the Authorization to Use Force in Iraq - the 2nd Iraq war Bush Jr. lied the nation into. She was the main driving force in bombing Libya.

it's often said that better the devil you know than the devil you don't - not when the devil you're talking about is literally THE devil. Name anything that Clinton has EVER done you approve of? That Obama did? That Bush Jr. did?

Here, I'll start - I approve of withdrawing from Syria, I approve of not going to war with Iran, I approve of not going to war with Venezuela. I approve of better relations with Russia. I know the withdrawal of Syria is incomplete at this time - let's hope it doesn't remain that way.

I'm not a non-interventionist, since it's retarded not to help put out a small fire before it becomes a conflagration 5-alarm fire 1000x more costly in blood and money to fix. Had France not mobilized it's troops in reaction to Austria-Hungary's pacification of Yugoslavia, or the French and British invaded Germany in 1936 when it tried to annex the Rhineland and later Sudetenland, there would have been no WW2. Hitler would have looked like an idiot at home, then been quickly disposed of to cut losses by the Wehrmacht and other internal actors.

But I'm not a hyper-interventionist, where we use troops to create havoc, revolutions, coups, and nation build (notice I said use troops, which does not include other forms of assistance). We should have never toppled Saddam with our own forces, and if we did then we should have partitioned the country instead of trying to create some neolib/con fantasy in a region that hasn't even gotten around to Free Speech or Freedom of Religion yet, and is almost perfectly divided into 3 large groups and several minority groups that hate and loathe each other (Kurds, Sunni, Shi'a, Assyrians, Chaldeans, etc.)

Trump is getting the powers in the region to clean up the shit with their blood and money, simply offering US aerial and logistic assistance. And using economic sanctions to keep aggressive schmucks like Erdogan in line without putting US troops in the middle of a two century old ethnic conflict.

That is what is happening in Syria, and it's great.

If this were the case, why would they have to lie us into every fucking war?

There were no weapons of mass destruction program in Iraq - this was known before the war began.
Qaddafi wasn't about to "cause a humanitarian crisis" in Libya - but Libya has a humanitarian crisis now in the form of civil war and slavery markets.
Assad wasn't gassing his own people, not that the US would care if he was.
Gulf of Tonkin never happened.
Probably 9/11 was a false flag.

WW2 happened because Nazi Germany told the European banking system to go get fucked, and then used an internal monetary system which led to the "German miracle", and that couldn't be allowed. That was the real reason for WWII.

Every war that is started, is begun with a foundation of lies. All wars that happen happen because the controlling rich THINK it will advantage them to have it happen.

MIC loves war because they profit off from it enormously, at the expense of the entire country. There are many reasons war happens, and it happens when multiple groups overlap for it. Syria war was partially because Israeli wanted the Golan Heights to be really Israeli. A company called Genie Energy signed a deal with Israel to mine the oil resources in early 2013 - that was before the SUPPOSED Ghouta chemical attacks. Look up who is on the "strategic board of directors" of Genie Energy.

If you just imagine the government as a mafia family that has Uncle Don with different interests than Uncle Rick and Uncle "Necktie" - it all makes sense. There's competing factions in the government that all have temporary top tier status. It's been this way for decades. They're just goons. Why do you think Comey, Mueller, and O. Brennan are just so terribly comfortable lying in front of congress, lying on television, lying all the time? They know how it works.

I'm telling you, there is only NOMINALLY a government. Hillary Clinton seriously could murder a 5 year old kid in cold blood, be caught doing it, and the worst that will happen is she would "commit suicide" - but would probably end up with Jeffrey Epstein drinking martinis in retirement.
7   fdhfoiehfeoi   2019 Oct 24, 5:08pm

So a president is good if they continue bombing the shit out of countries we have no business being in? This kind of fecies is why I can't subscribe to the false left/right paradigm. They're both SO terrible you have to set your standards incredibly low, and compromise ever decent morale in you to support one.

Pathetic...

And the Kims invaded South Korea in the 1950s.
And Saddam invaded Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Lying about babies in incubators or not, stopping him was good, just, AND in our self-interest. We stopped precisely when we should have, too.
The Kaiser's saboteurs blew up US facilities, sank US merchant ships with bombs in the coal hopper, organized cross border bandit raids, and plotted to blow up bridges and even poison our entire nation livestock with Anthrax, with the help of Militant Irish Republicans and Mexican Officials and Criminals. Organized out of their ship in NY Harbor and their Embassy in DC. It wasn't just Lusitania. Wilson was dragged kicking and screaming into it.
And the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and invaded multiple US Territories because they were butthurt we sanctioned them for invading China and prohibiting the import of our products - a country that had been a net importer of US manufactured goods.
The Grenada Dictator took our medical students hostage.

So that's the other side.

WW2 happened because Hitler correctly guessed that the victors of WW1 were weak and pacifist, and would let him get away with increasingly enlarging his territory via coup and outright invasion. The reason the French and British did not invade Germany when it invaded Poland was they were hoping the Soviets and Nazis would get into a WW1 style conflict, during which they could slowly rebuild their military at minimal expense, then simply wipe up the exhausted victor (since they were expecting years of Trench Warfare Attrition).

Hitler declared war on the USA after we declared war on Japan.

Israel took the Golan in 1967 after a defensive war against the United Arab Republic (really a loose alliance of Egypt, Syria, Jordan). The UAR demanded all UN peacekeepers out and began blockading the Straits of Tiran. Since ancient times a blockade is an act of war; unilaterally demanding peacekeepers on the border be removed was a clear signal of intention to attack. . It was held because no Syrian Government then or since would agree to a non-aggression pact; countless artillery and terrorist attacks had been launched from the Golan highlands against the Galilee lowlands in Israel.

I cannot argue about this all day, literally. It doesn't matter, it would take a very long time for us to exchange complete viewpoints and if I had the time I would.

Having said that, do you know who April Glaspie is and what she did to start the Gulf War? She was the US Ambassador to Iraq, and basically told Hussein - go ahead and invade Kuwait. Kuwait at the time was stealing Iraqi oil through sideways drilling. Iraq tried to bring up the issue at the UN, but the US blocked it. The US wanted war, although I don't know why.

Ever seen this?

That's a direct reference to what Kuwait was doing. Simpsons used to be hilarious.

Remember we had an oil embargo on Japan before WWII as well.

Yep, there are competing interests, and because of "Reforms" we now have a civil service where nobody can be fired for insubordination, and it's difficult to prosecute as intentions are hard to prove in court, esp. when the opposing team fights like hell, and they end up trading pardons, like John McCain for John Glenn in the S&L scandl. This is no revelation.

The reason the MIC can make bank is because Lefties didn't like a set price allowing companies to reduce costs to make planes, tanks, etc. and get more profit. If I sell an F-16 for $30M/pop to the USG, and then reduce my costs from building it from $27M to $24M, I just made another $3M but the taxpayer price is the same. They exchanged it for "Cost Plus" which gives Lockheed and Boeing no incentive to keep down costs, and every incentive to assist bureaucrats in slowing down production and development, since it increases costs and thus their payments. NASA and DoD employees are often hired by Aerospace Companies to help consult with them how they can extend development times and create more forms to fill out and concerns to relay.

Even if Musk flies his Spaceship to the Moon and back next year, the SLS still won't be cancelled.

What the ambassador said is that the US was not going to intervene if Iraq retaliated for Kuwaiti side drilling. This was more likely a miscommunication. Saddam's relations with the US had been good for years, and it was probably thought the Iraqis were going to side drill into Kuwait or perhaps strike a Kuwaiti oil well or two in retaliation. Saddam owed the Kuwaitis and Saudis billions from money borrowed in the Iraq War, and was under intense pressure to meet scheduled payments.

Yep, Wilson was a Technocrat and a Germanophile, and everyday the Marshals busted more Kaiser sabotage rings and each time Wilson blew them off. He was one of the worst Presidents, that I am in agreement with.

We didn't need an income tax, just to keep our high, Hamiltonian System Tariff that made America a great industrial power, instead of a landlord controlled exporter of Cotton and other raw materials like South America whose industrialization was delayed since the Plantation owners wanted European goods in exchange for their Silver and Coffee and didn't give a shit about industrializing, democracy, or freedom.

For the record, I'm looking forward to the collapse, and rest assured, we will collapse. This shit has hit a pinnacle, and the corruption has hit a pinnacle. Half the nation is ready for civil war, and are SERIOUS about it. 40% of the military voted for Gary Johnson, 40% Trump, 16% Clinton, 4% other - who do you think the rank and file voted for?

It's going to be a hard few years after this happened, but trust me, it will be worth it. Everybody in the old USSR and occupied territories are happy it happened, although some of them have nostalgia - but that's typical, I'm not old enough to falsely believe i had a happy childhood, and loved college. :D

In a head to head fight with Russia, the US is going to lose. Russia is probably the most powerful military on the planet, because they don't F around, they aren't terribly corrupt (I know how crazy that sounds!), and they fight wars to win, not to soak the taxpayer. This is a result of them actually having a not totally corrupt system. Once we go through our little reset, we'll be strong as iron in 20 years - if we can hold it together and not go communist. We really were once the best nation on the planet, I think we can do it again.

Trump is not a dictator. He's only president - but that's a step up from what we've had probably since 1992, perhaps 1988 - a puppet. There's lots of puppets in positions of "authority". Trump can say, "I'm pulling out troops from Syria" or "I'm pulling out troops from Afghanistan" - and even though both were started with Executive Orders, he may just be ignored - as he has been ignored, and he's already said that, as official policy.

He might be just blowing smoke up my butthole, but if I only look at results - no new wars yet..

I'm not saying Trump is "good" either, I'm saying he's not entirely shit - I'd say that about Al Gore, George W. Bush, John Kerry, Barak Obama, John McCain, Mitt Romney, and Hillary Clinton - they were entirely shit. If Al Gore was president, we would have still gone to war with Iraq but probably it would have been because "Saddam is a bad man we supported under Reagan, and it's our Moral Duty to correct it" - all the dummy democrats would have supported it, all the dummy republicans would have opposed it, and we'd have the exact same identical results.

I definitely do not want a collapse or civil war, and we are far from collapse as the US controls the world reserve currency and sits on Trillions in real estate assets and can lease countless billions, probably trillions in rights to exploit resources like oil, shale oil, nat gas, coal, helium, prime timber, and grazing lands.

Collapses really suck and are far less fun than advertised. If there was a civil war, I expect it would be more a bloodless or relatively bloodless coup and would end in hours, with the Left losing firmly.

The Federal Reserve should be under the direct control of the Government, since the power to coin money is explicitly granted to government in the Constitution. It is hairsplitting to limit this to physical coins and not numbers on a computer screen, for that same reason that claiming Gun Rights only apply to muskets or Freedom of the Press to an actual moving press.

The world's reserve currency under Bretton Woods was gold, and the US dollar was a "guarantee" of value of $35 = 1 troy ounce of gold. Well, the Federal Reserve made more coupons for gold than actually existed - i.e. they counterfeited, and they were forced to admit their fraud in 1971.

Why did the US dollar go through hyperinflation then? Well, there was the threat, the really serious threat, of the USSR also they US cut a deal with OPEC to only sell oil in dollars and in return the US would keep the DESPOTS that were in power there in power if they only "invested" their profits in US debt. This was the petro-dollar.

In 1991, the USSR did something it wasn't supposed to do - it went bankrupt, and the USSR was no longer a threat. So the US spent 8 years trying to re-create a threat, but the petro-dollar was still in force.

Until 2001 - when Hussein said he was only going to buy and sell oil in Euros, exclusively.
Then Iran opened the Iranian oil Bourse.
Then Russia announced they would sell oil in any currency.
Then Libya proposed the new gold Dinar..

The US dollar is just a piece of paper with a bunch of promises from a nation that routinely violates treaties and promises.

The US tried to recreate a "worldwide threat" with "duh war on terrah!" - that didn't work, so they started tying to recreate the Cold War. They are doing this to protect our corrupt banking system, not for you or me.

Real estate assets, what like residential, commercial and manufacturing? All those are worthless in a non working economy. Shale oil loses money, coal is apparently banned, sweet crude isn't a major factor in the US anymore, helium I guess.. Timber I suppose, grazing lands maybe. NONE of those will help either coast.

Oh it currently is. Our Federal Reserve IS the government. This is the MAIN reason we've been in war for the last 18 years. To save IT.

The US Federal Reserve just got through LYING to the planet about it's worth and value. We're going back to some sort of commodity standard, and back to bills of credit. Dumb Rothschilds. If you think it's going to be bad in the West, look at Israel - they're TOTALLY fucked. A little nation screwing with everybody they could fuck with, just because they could?

The US now has the oldest fiat monetary system in the world. We are already in uncharted territory and only our military keeps it afloat. China, Russia, and India are just laying back waiting for us to run out of steam. The stupid Federal reserve is DESPERATE to blame the collapse on an outside force, therefore, China and Russia are going to steer WELL clear of having any appearance of being one. Russia is perfectly happy to have a proxy war in Syria, or Venezuela, or anywhere, for the next 3 decades or however long it takes. China is too.

The poorest stewards of the legacy they received than any other generation bar none. It was under the Boomers that CEO remuneration went from 40% time the rank and file to something like 400% today. Jeff Skilling, born in 1953, is a perfect microcosm of Boomer mentality--entitlement, narcissism run amok. He actually thought all he had to do was talk the stock up without doing anything worth while to keep Enron afloat and was astounded when everything came down. He was surrounded by like-minded people--Enron's collapse was a ten year preview of what the 21st century would produce.

Yep. My parents were from the Silent Generation and I'm from X. When my mother and her sister were visiting once, my aunt (boomer generation) decided to take a poke at me when I complained about Moffett airforce base having a private golf course, RIGHT NEXT to the Shoreline Gulf Course. She actually told me "what's wrong with that? You told me HP had a private park called Little Basin next to the public park Big Basin.

I had to explain to her the difference between having a gun put to my head to pay for one golf course, and buying a semi-decent computer because it's an adequate machine for my work and that I would have gone to Compaq or built my own if it wasn't the best value for the price. They are the first generation to literally have no conception of free market economics.

BTW I never have worked for HP, but I've hiked Little Basin. Going onto Moffett gets me arrested. Technically, Moffett belongs to me, Little Basin doesn't. Boomers drive me crazy, they really are just infuriating. An expensive house was 3 times their yearly salary, a cheap house for generation Z is 11 times their yearly salary. Oh, the Millennials are LAZY I'm told... I think they know they fucked over the other generations, and this is their bizarre self defense of it. We have a hell of a mess to clean up after those assholes finally downsize into a grave.

These are called sociopaths.

Musk drives me crazy because I'm a competent engineer, and Musk proposes ridiculous bullshit. He's a great marketer, and that's it.

Neumann was running a scam, I would bet there are plenty of people at Softbank cleaning up with kickbacks.

Elizabeth Holmes is a patsy and a sociopath. If you actually want to solve that swindle, you have to look at who profited from it.

I'm talking about people like Jamie Dimon who created the CDO fraud, or Christine Lagarde who has destroyed entire nations, bitched about Greeks not paying their taxes, when she doesn't pay taxes, or our entire fucking government that won't do basic shit like enforce the law. The government has never been this corrupt. Who runs it now? Decades ago McCarthy was asked by a reporter "have you no shame?" - well, today the answer is "Absolutely not, what, are you a Russian troll??" How could a generation that went to war in Vietnam over the KNOWN FALSE FLAG EVENT of the Gulf of Tonkin Incident, make that government look honest and forthright in comparison?

The boomer generation had the most warning, but it falls upon every other generation to try to prevent the corruption, point it out, and eliminate it.

Julian Assange is X. He's going to die. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton is running a 100 million dollar fraud charity and apparently is selling classified material to the highest bidder and using her fraud charity to accept payment but if you believe that, you're a Russian bot.

A publically traded space corporation would be problematic since the investment and payoff might be years or even a decade apart. Also stock prices and boards change, sometimes overnight, and at the whims of public perception and confidence. All a space company needs is a PR disaster followed by a boycott and a public demand to shut it down while it’s got 100 astronauts on their way to mine a near Earth asteroid. Instead of mission control, astronauts would soon be talking to government regulators demanding they turn around, come home, and help repay billions in “stolen” revenue to shareholders. Nevermind that all of that is impossible.
That’s why they’re keeping this private.

yes, anybody that ever criticizes the Great USSA, is Russian Troll.

Anyone telling that Russia is not really corrupt, or that Russian military with its reliance on 1980's Soviet developments is stronger than US military, is a Russian troll.
Russians who live in USA and glorify Russia from distance are, as a minimum, hypocrites and perhaps should not have been given citizenship of the country they loathe.

Yah but what richwicks is saying is that the Left calls everyone a Russian troll who dares to express a non-Leftoid position. Most of the time these opinions have nothing at all to do with Russia, yet the idiots on forums just call them Ivan and inquire how many rubles per word they make. It’s ridiculous, but it’s the shape of Leftist reaction to conservative free speech.

That is similar to Ms Cankles calling everyone she dislikes a Russian asset, at which point no one is a Russian asset other than Ms Cankles.

However, I have seen plenty Russians here in US glorifying Mother Russia and its leader Putler the Great and blabbering how bad US is, while preferring to live in the decadent, spoiled, and corrupt US of A. That is highly annoying - don't like here, go back to fucking Russia. Suitcase, Airport, Russia!

Yeah, who did that in this thread? Quote them...

Strawmen are easy to create and destroy, aren't they?

In a head to head fight with Russia, the US is going to lose. Russia is probably the most powerful military on the planet, because they don't F around, they aren't terribly corrupt (I know how crazy that sounds!), and they fight wars to win, not to soak the taxpayer. This is a result of them actually having a not totally corrupt system.

Trump stops wars because he understands Peace Through Strength and Proportionality and the Fallacy of the Excluded Middle.

He won't occupy Iraq with hundreds of thousands of US Troops in the name of International Law.

But he also won't give Ayatollahs $6B of the Persian People's money as a bribe, knowing they will fund more mischief with it.

Musk drives me crazy because I'm a competent engineer, and Musk proposes ridiculous bullshit. He's a great marketer, and that's it.

Thanks Elon, for massively improving free speech on Twitter, standing up against Woke, the Wide Open Border, and Munchausen's Child Mutilation by Proxy.

The Saker is the most obvious example of this.

Although I heard he's not really Russian in terms of growing up or living there, he had one parent was Russian but he spent almost all his early life in Switzerland and the West where he and his parents worked for NGOs and Saker himself for the International Red Cross . He has only spent a few years in Russia his whole life, including childhood, and he's a Middle Aged man that's been living in Tampa for a decade. He also has a temper and an condescending attitude towards Serbians, that they should shut up and listen and obey their Russian master, which is why the whistleblower came out.

But he puts himself forth as an expert in everything Russia, domestic or international.

There's also a little Russian ultranat ring of Pepe Escobar, "Israel Shamir", South Front, and a few other 'independent journalists&apos and websites; whose back history and funding is shrouded in mystery. One contact I had says that Israel Shamir was never a member of Israeli Intelligence and in fact never was so much as a draftee in the IDF due to his age/health problems.
