No wonder it all looks like a goddam Chinese Fire Drill rather than responsible people working together to do the right thing.

When I was in New Orleans in school, I had asthma like condition in the Winter, mild but consistent. The jet stream drops in and out, flipping the weather between humid Caribbean and Midwest cold, and it triggers asthmatics in droves. The asthmatics flood the emergency rooms when the weather and heat/cold flip. They can be any age, but often young. Many of these asthmatics have to be on ventilator with chemotherapy support to survive.

I also had the 'lung apoplexy' thing happen to me a couple of years ago when I had my completely unheralded two killer flus. I knew exactly how people die, because there is a critical period where the body can have a very sudden, anaphylactic-like reaction to the virus and the lungs suddenly clamp down. Mine wasn't bad enough to kill, but having it made me realize what happens. If you survive this short period, you will be sick but will survive. If you don't, you strangle to death rather quickly. It was this 'lung apoplexy' phase that killed dramatically in the Spanish Flu. It can happen with any severe virus or flu, depending on the susceptibility and reserves of the particular patient.

I would imagine in New Orleans there are people who may incidentally have Covid-19 and suffer an asthmatic attack at the same time. So, this turkey is a panic repeating station and is probably attributing cause and effect to enhance the 'reputation' of Covid-19. I love that it's the usual anonymous 'medical care worker' agog with wonder. It means the irresponsible journalism has a straw man, as usual, quoting and paraphrasing to re-enforce the notion that Covid-19 is dangerous to young people.
