Hate the media so damn much right now.
May is the grand reopening, unless hundreds of thousands start dying from this flu.
About vaccine, corona appears to mutate very fast. I doubt we will get a general vaccine. Which means we need "herd immunity", and that can be obtained either in a relatively short time not ruining economy, or it can be stretched out for a year until we live in caves after economy collapses.
I'm still hopeful. This is a situation where having Trump as a leader works against us. Because everyone, even his supporters know how greedy and narcissistic he is. We know all the stories about his past (well some of us do). We know how much he cares about the economy relative to HOW IT EFFECTS HIM. I'm not saying any other leader wouldn't be just as aware of that.
Why hasn't Walmart gassed its OldFuck crumbling greeters yet? Is it because they still get their crap goods from China?
They did that last year
immanentize the eschaton
It's absolutely ridiculous that one group should continue to get paid in full for no or little work, while tens of millions are out of work entirely. Nobody should be that privileged in a national emergency.

Oh the push back is coming. At minimum a government worker collecting full pay AND barely or not working at all shouldn't get a stimulus check. Anyone collecting a government pension should get nothing from this. If you get social security, filed taxes and there's no employment listed on your taxes, no stimulus.
If UE claims top 20M total (10M next week basically) then the economy opens back up May 1st 100%. If this is a war.... I'm willing to take the risk. If you can't take the risk, stay home and ask for assistance. I saw a news clip of maybe up to 100 people in a hospital cheering on a CV-19 "survivor" being released from the hospital. I though they were fuc...
But everything that requires large/dense groups is closed until vaccine: (cinemas, cafes, restaurants, hotels, concerts, sporting events, conferences, probably schools, etc...) .

What if (when) the virus mutates and the vaccine stops working?
They need to check their EduPrivilege!
like the vast majority in the Private Sector

I know you would never believe it, but I've been working really hard these past couple weeks.
Why is it any different than the millions in the private sector that are working from home, you know, other than the fact that you hate us.

If you look 60+, you should be carded at the door of EVERY establishment and cannot enter. 59 and under are allowed in. We do the exact same with alcohol and a whole host of other things legally or commercially. We simply need the deaths to stop and old people are stubborn as fuck because they know they're on hole 16 to 17 of life. So they don't care.
Really, anything with mayo prepared out of your sight, you don't want to take a chance on right now.

@WookieMan this seems like an excellent idea.
Interesting question. What proportion of private sector employees are now working from home ?

According to you it's 1 - (vast majority)
I don't know about that. But it's definitely a lot.
Kind of like Educators and Admins, and many Federal and State Workers. Thy continue to collect their full salary, which allows them to be Anti-Trump and hope for an economic disaster to immanentize the eschaton.
Now, if this goes beyond April 15th, they should all be furloughed until school opens or the economy re-opens or both. Why should 100% of State Health Officials checking restaurants, bars, barber shops, etc. be getting 100% of pay when 90% of those are closed?

That way they have skin in the game, and their TDS will be tempered by economic realities like the vast majority in the Private Sector.

Should we Reopen the Economy:
* In a Week or So
* In a Month
* Right now
* Slavsya otechesvo, at least 3 months
Choosing this date like a lottery number? Like Trump, based on a holiday?
What a dumb question. How about we base it on the COVID-19 developments?
