I get where you're coming from, but he'd have likely lost votes with independents that still think blacks are actively oppressed by whites. Letting them go was the best option and then throwing it back at states and mayors. This election would be decided at this point if he sent in the military against state wishes. He'd have lost the black vote at a level we've never seen before, as Trump would put it.

I wonder if Trump and his family will be persecuted for years to come. Obviously, the Twatter account will be frozen. I'm guessing he's filed taxes in dozens of states over the years, so it's not just NY that is going to "review" records that were seemingly fine. Maybe Christine Blasey Ford will suddenly remember being gang-raped a few years ago where Trump was participating (although it certainly wouldn't have been at a Miss American pagent). There will be continual allocations of emolument violations against him and all his relatives.
