Anyone get vaxxed?

I know a few and they sound like absolute shit, and both feel like absolute crap.

Anyone else?

Why the fuck are people injecting themselves with a non-FDA approved biological agent?

And what the fuck are people afraid of, when this covid has a 99.97% survival rate?

I don't understand this level of retardedness... Or maybe I am just super, over the top, fucking retarded, that I can't understand this shit.

I’m sure he knows plenty about his own situation and he has lots of opinions that are valid. Believe me I get plenty of flack from relatives about why I choose to remain here. But everyone has their reasons why they live in a place. As does he, as do you, and as do I.

but to say that salaries in IL are higher across the board compared to CA is simply not true. You cant even say that salaries across CA are aligned. Working in tech in SV is different than working in tech in the inland empire.

Sad. Lets discuss the topics and not each other.
741   HeadSet   2021 Apr 20, 2:04pm

I would suspect that most on this blog are of means, and pretty much are able to choose where they want to live. Exceptions are those anchored by extended family or current career status. Even so, nothing wrong with some hometown pride. However, the idea that your home is the best place on Earth and everyone envies you for living in the perfect place, is a bit provincial. The man who lives on his own acre in flyover land, who has a 15 minute commute to work, who loves hunting and fishing and has his own bass boat and several good local fishing spots, has all night poker games with the boys on a picnic table lit by a Coleman lantern with a cooler of beer, does not envy the Californian with his beaches and dog walking spots. He also does not envy the long commutes and the necessity of having the wife work to make ends meet. Nor does he envy the tiny house packed into a .15 acre lot. And while the California may think these costs are worth it for the "Mediterranean" climate and local cuisine like the garlic grape leaves at Giglio's Ethnic Café, the flyover guy loves his area's four distinct seasons and the best on Earth pulled pork at Big Fat Daryl's Beanery and Firing Range.

If "big salaries" indicate the best place to live, then I see the Virginia and Maryland counties surrounding Washington DC must be the most desirable places in the country. NYC, too. Even so, when looking at median household income, CA, VA, and Illinois are not that far apart. CA median income is about $80, VA about $76k, and Illinois about $70k. The percentage of those households earning above $200k is Ca-14%. VA - 12%, and Illinois - 9%. Remember, this is Household income, including salaries of both husband and wife (or partner). Do doctors, attorneys, teachers, and other occupations really make more in LA than those in Chicago or Washington DC? How about rural or small town Californians?

I believe he lives in Illinois. They have one of the the highest tax burdens in the whole country.
https://www.mystateline.com/news/local-news/illinois-has-the-highest-taxes-nationwide-report-finds/

The cost of living in Illinois with its retarded sky-high property, sales, income and gas taxes makes it comparable to the cost of living of many nice places in California.
743   socal2   2021 Apr 20, 2:38pm

Last year I promoted and transferred an employee from Washington State down to California. We typically provide 10% pay increase for this type of promotion, but I had to bump him 20% because he was going from a non-income tax state to California's nearly 10% rate at his pay level.

Nobody even mentions the congestion in California. Cali IS CROWDED ass to elbow and your are competing even for slots at what used to be the entertainment venues.

Santa Cruz is heavily mobbed even more than it used to be because of Covid cabin fever, and the lack of places to go until recently.

In LA, traveling short distances could take hours. Apparently, Covid helped, but I notice the traffic is creeping up again in the Bay Area.

Buying a house in CA CAN BE a fantastic investment in the long run.....The house in our neighborhood is for sale and in a bidding war. Guy bought it in March and sells in April for 200k more....now I hear there is a bidding war. Frankly, its an extreme example because its a nice location and prices are out of reach for most people.

Agreed, also a direct consequence of unfettered illegal immigration. Eventually everybody converges on the nice entertainment / nature spots and turns them into shit. CA still has some undiscovered remote beautiful spots, but if you really wan't to get rid of congestion you need to go to coastal Maine or so, where you have maybe a total of 50 cars passing by between 10pm to 6am on your nearest road - beautiful!

No they're not though with interest rates. Most intelligent people don't wan't to be house poor after the housing bust. I can get a $1.5M house tomorrow. But why? Your entertainment is then riding a bike or a dog. I prefer riding the wife on the balcony in a nice hotel in St. Thomas or Mexico. Or family friendly experiences with the kids. No interest in being house poor. But hey, weather I guess?

Yeah, we have super low inventory and low rates. Bidding wars are happening all over. But our neighborhood just hit a new freakin record that nobody expected to be that high. I cant complain though....seeing your "zestimate" go up by tens of thousands each month is not a bad thing :)

You may get your vaccine, but at least I don't (and won't) have HERPES!!!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"A recent study published on Apr. 12 has found that a possible side effect of the coronavirus vaccines might be linked to herpes zoster.

The study done by researchers from the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center and Carmel Medical Center in Haifa, Israel showed that patients who had been diagnosed with an autoimmune inflammatory rheumatic disease (AIRD) were more likely to contract herpes zoster, The Jerusalem Post reported.

Herpes zoster, also known as shingles, is a red, itchy, and painful rash that can cause nerve damage and additional pain if not treated, according to the Jerusalem Post."

Nobody has a clue what this shit does. We're maybe days 5 into a calendar year of figuring out what this shit (vaccine) does to you. There was no reason to rush any of this through. As seen with FL, just protect old people. It's not a complex situation. Instead we have 30 year olds pumping themselves full of shit that they have no clue what the consequences will be. Enjoy.

If you never had chicken pox you can't get shingles as it's caused by the same virus, so "contract herpes zoster" should really read "develop herpes zoster" since one already contracted the virus long ago. But not surprised about the myriad of side effects, esp. on the auto-immune side. Not a single reason to get vaxxed at this point unless you're at extremely high risk of serious complications from covid. But hey, there's a shingles vaccine and a vaccine for that vaccine and so on! Just keep on jabbing lol ;)

I think it's the other way around: if had chicken pox in the past you'll have immunity from it and will get shingles later in life. If you haven't had CP you'll have chickenpox if exposed to it (and may die if over 25).

Correct.

Yes, it's very dangerous to contract as an adult which is (was?) the reason for chicken pox parties for kids. I hadn't heard death was a possibility but infertility was one if I recall.

Yeah can was supposed to read can't. Fixed.
And yeah def better to have had CP and be at risk for shingles than contracting CP late in life. That's another problems with the vaccine fanatics and pushers, if you vaccinate against everything you need to keep boosting throughout your life which increases cumulative side effects and people often forget to get the boosters for childhood diseases they never had, and they are in for a serious ride if they contract them later in iife. Most are just better to get over with early on as a kid.

AFAIK there's only one childhood disease which goes the reverse, i.e. from serious to harmless as one ages, and that is pertussis (whooping cough). I'm glad I had most (if not all) of them as a kid. Nothing like natural immunity.

As far as the doggy and the bike goes....Just came back from a long walk with the doggy....love working from home. Doggy's having a blast chasing squirrels.

You said you have a pool. Throw a ball in the back yard. Plenty of energy to get out of a dog. And let them swim if it's so nice in Socal. My dog gets ripped from swimming. Lean and strong at 12 years old.

Or you don't have a pool or a fenced yard, which is what my instinct is telling me. You don't walk dogs if you have that. Code usually requires a fenced yard. So yeah, calling BS.

Vaccine Safety studies destroyed:

*Makers of COVID-19 vaccines are now destroying long-term safety studies by unblinding their trials and giving the control groups the active vaccine, claiming it is “unethical” to withhold an effective vaccine
In so doing, they make it virtually impossible to assess any long-term safety and effectiveness, and the true benefit versus cost
*It’s ironic, because vaccine mandates are being justified on the premise that the benefit to the community is more important than an individual’s risk of harm. Yet vaccine manufacturers are saying that participants in the control groups are harmed by not getting the vaccine, and saving the individual is more important than securing the data needed to make public health decisions
*Getting the active vaccine comes with risk, not merely benefit. This is particularly true for the novel mRNA technology used in COVID-19 vaccines
*As of April 1, 2021, VAERS had received 56,869 adverse events following COVID-19 vaccination, including 7,971 serious injuries and 2,342 deaths. Of those deaths, 28% occurred within 48 hours of vaccination. The youngest person to die was 18 years old

Intelligence. Hard to come by now a days. The reality is people don't understand how trivial covid itself is. Even if the vaccine was proven 100% safe, you DON'T even need it. "Maybe" the elderly or massively obese people.

If you want it or take it I'm not going to shit on anyone for doing that. I don't agree much with Bitcoin, but he's right when he says your body your choice. I'll just say it's silly to take it if you're 50 or under. That's not a dig at those that have taken it. I have no interest in controlling other people and what they do to their own body. Other decisions I'll have some opinions for sure.
