Healthcare providers are simply going to run afoul of other laws because there is simply nowhere to house patients. Normally there is a flow of patients from hospitals to nursing homes. Overnight, nursing home capacity has dropped about 13-14%. The nursing homes don't have the ability to care for the patients they have let alone getting additional ones. Those patients will have to remain in hospitals.

It's gonna be a real mess in about 2 weeks.

I'm hoping you're wrong to be honest. I haven't looked into it. We've got inflation and you dump 95k people in a ditch and won't pay UE benefits? Not all of them can move. Your average nurse with 10 years in could be making $60-70k or more. That's a shit ton of money out of the economy. And it's health care workers in general it sounds like, so that could include docs and other specialist making $200-400k/yr.

I'd venture to guess getting fired from the medical field is probably one the worst jobs to be fired from and find gainful employment on the back end. Someone will hire them, but a termination regardless of reason in medicine seems like a tough recovery.

Ultimately this falls in the lap of Biden for allowing this and pushing it because he wanted cover for Afghanistan. I didn't vote for him, but as with any human I'll give you a chance. This has been the ultimate failure in my mind. The alternative is Harris, so I'd say we're stuck with Biden as I don't trust that bitch.

I don't understand it. My county here in IL is chill with restrictions, but 0.12% deaths out of total population that gets Covid. 1 in 1,000 basically.
