They called fair elections act, or some nonsense name like that.

This is a referendum, that calls on the Government to then legislate the election results into legislation. And as Florida saw with the Medical Marijuana initiative Florida voted on and passed. The Florida legislation were then free to write a highly regulated law around it, so that we wouldn't become Colorado or California with wide open loose MJ laws.
Those that canvassed and pushed the initiative to the vote were all seriously Butthurt, because they all betted on opening a dispensary or growing operation. But instead the Legislators gave us a highly regulated medical MJ.

Don't put it past the India political apparati use the referendum to craft laws that run counter to the spirit of the initiative.

What worries me that why this movement is getting huge traction all of sudden.
Sikhs are capable of mounting big campaigns, But the methods of this don't match the past.

What I worry is that it may be used as another way to taint community and cause harm.
(Biggest might be to get identities of people supporting this and confiscate their properties in Bharat)

The die is cast. These people are able to convince large number of Sikhs that their future is separation from Bharat.
Now what will this lead to .. a separate country,bloodshed or what we will only know in future.

China is in a bad sorta way right now. You see after 2008, China stepped on the gas to continue its economic expansion. It was already losing manufacturing workers (yes, automation led to a loss of manufacturing employment in China too). Its populous didn't have the income to become a consumer based economy (the people are quite rich, but not from wages, but from ponzi scheme investments). Anyways, China finds itself in 2021 with about 26% of its economy devoted to construction. This compares to the US @ about 6.5% (it was about 7.3% in 2008 at the height of the housing bubble).

Real estate is generally massively debt financed. Just like what happened here in the States back in 2008, nobody is willing to loan any more money on Chinese construction projects. There are already trillions of $ of bad loans outstanding. China will try to paper over the financial losses, but a couple hundred million freshly unemployed construction workers is going to tear that country a new one unless the rest of society is willing to pay for them to do nothing.

There are no silver bullets to this problem.

I have a serious problem with people's lack of civics. Do you have any idea how your tax money is spent? How about the cost of funding your local public school? Even the curriculum of it? What nations are being bombed by the United States? Do you know how money is created? If you try to talk to one, it's been 20 years, so you're going to have to find somebody that is at least 50 for a reasoned answer. My experience 20 years ago, is I was hated for being an American, very hard to get them to talk because they hated me so much for being an American.

I used to talk to an Iranian, until out of fear for both him and me, I dropped off. Perhaps I was cowardly and was more afraid of my safety, but I did worry for his although I don't know if it was justified. I worried for his safety although I don't know if he was at risk talking to me, but I didn't want to put him and his family in danger - but I don't know if he was - that was the propaganda at the time.

We deserve what we get. Constant vigilance and all that. I really expected for people to be more curious and suspicious when I was in my 20's.

If you work in any technology company especially semiconductors.. China is totally ostracized. China has to reinvent everything and having hard time getting cutting edge tech. China do steal IP but companies are becoming very careful. In communications sector(5G infrastructure etc.) Chinese vendors are totally blocked from advanced markets worldwide and have to spend too much money for not that much sales. Also they have no ecosystem with western companies.

China is so polluted that they need the GDP the size of US for many years to clean the ruin they have done to their land.
