It seems that Beverly Hills residents would have private security with armed response.

hey do in parts of the more westerly areas. When I was in LA, it wasn't unusual to see guys in suits with guns outside of particular residences when driving around Beverly Hills

The local truth here is, Beverly Hills claims the showy title as a most exclusive rich neighborhood. The REAL but nondescript exclusive rich neighborhood is adjoining Brentwood.

Yeah, honestly, it's actually not hard to see how criminals get around this: Whenever they're about to roll up to a smash-and-grab, they just cover their license plates up with a piece of fabric or something; then they roll out and, a few blocks later, rip the fabric off to avoid suspicion.
I mean... they're criminals. It's not like they'll be reluctant to cover up their license plates. Breaking the law is what they do!
Color me doubtful that this will make any difference to San Jose's crime problems.
A "brutal, brazen" crime wave is sweeping over Los Angeles and creeping into the "wealthier enclaves" of the city
If libs were not so brain damaged I would think this would be a wakeup call.

This follows after months of reports of lowlife thugs targeting Beverly Hills. First wave was brazen daylight robberies at restaurants. In the last few weeks, follow-home robberies of people flashing money or bling or big purchases have been making news. Now a couple of big names were murdered right in their own home.
Be interesting to see if anything changes now that this wealthy "enclave" is openly as dangerous as Rio De Janeiro.
A few days ago, an invasion of a Home Depot local to me made national news when crews of people ran in and stole every sledge hammer they could find. Police have been saying to watch for caravans of vehicles traveling together. An observant person reported such a caravan of out-of-place vehicles some missing license plates cruising in the vicinity of Beverly Hills. Police swooped in and arrested several people and found evidence linking them to the Home Depot incident.
