Corruption here in the US, by the government giving corporate welfare to chip manufacturers and getting kickbacks for its officials is kinda ho-hum.
Of course.
Islam is violently opposed to free speech.
So apart from willing, wishing or praying for Rushdie’s recovery, the only other thing that can be done now is to display that civic courage that Sontag called for three decades ago. The Satanic Verses is a complex but brilliant novel. It includes an hilarious and devastating reimagining of the origins of the Qur’an. I hope that people will read it, and read from it, more than ever. Because what happened in New York today cannot be allowed to win. The illiterate cannot be allowed to dictate the rules of literature. The enemies of free expression cannot be allowed to quash it. The attacker should get exactly the opposite of the response he will have hoped for. Not just hopefully a failure to silence Rushdie, but a failure to limit what the rest of us are allowed to think, read, hear and say.
An event like that would be ruinous. Insurance companies would go bust.
Flood insurance doesn't pay out unless only your house gets flooded? Doesnt sound right... most floods are an act of god unless a dam or levee breaks etc...
And @FarmersWon dad rap*s his mom and give birth to bast*** son like him. :)
You can abuse/murder but can't remove the fact that Hindooo cult Gods are not moral.

You don't know much about Greek and Roman mythology do you?
The gods, there, aren't supposed to be moral, they are just flawed super-beings. They are meant to reflect the strengths and weaknesses of the human race. All aspects of it - at least in Greek and Roman mythology. Nobody thought Zeus was a perfectly moral being. If you want to get into it, the Abrahamic god isn't perfectly good either. He accepted a human sacrifice from Jepthah who promised to sacrifice the first thing to come out of his home should Yahweh give him victory in a war - the first thing out of his house was he daughter.
The only religion that seems to have a concept of an absolute need for total morality I know of is Jainism and their idea of morality is completely abstain from violence.
This is just an attempt to appease a public which has totally forsaken the CDC as an arbiter of public health. They’ve totally lost the public trust and suddenly remembered that they need that to be effective in any way, and more importantly not to get cancelled!
And so people stopped caring what they say.
And they’ve suddenly noticed.
And they’re in panic mode.
