Mockingbird in Safeway parking lot was imitating the sound of squeaking shopping cart wheels. I wonder if that will score him a mate.

Pretty sure that was a vault lid for an in-ground transformer or electric switch....

How do dogs navigate over long distances? Do they remember how far they were driven in a car?

I wonder if the rodents would have been electrocuted if that was a GFCI outlet.
5480   🎂 Tenpoundbass   2023 Feb 17, 8:12am

There's still a hot wire running to a GFI, the internal switch just kills the return to disable the outlet. The hot leg, the brass screw, will still be live.

They make a strong case!

I'm not sure it's real. I would think that the mice would just get a zap and scurry away. One of the reasons AC is used in houses is that it does not paralyze your muscles like DC does.
5483   GreaterNYCDude   2023 Feb 17, 10:26am

Its not an AC / DC issue... depends on Amperage.

Edisons electrocution of the Elephant to prove DC was more dangerous was complete showmanship.

Frankly the whole Edison / Tesla battle to power our nation (nee the world) was facanating.

Edison was a DC promoter; the elephant was executed using AC to "prove" Westinghouse/Tesla's AC was dangerous. Also, Edison used Westinghouse AC on the first electric chair for the same reason. Edison definitely had a dark side.

Yep, and they both lost. Westinghouse/Tesla beat Edison, but then JP Morgan used lawfare (threatened to bankrupt Westinghouse with frivolous patent lawsuits) to take AC from Westinghouse and give it to his new General Electric company. GE was created from Edison Electric after JP Morgan used stock manipulation to oust Edison.

@Headset.

I got it backwards apparently. Thanks for setting me straight.

The name is Marina Yankina. It was in the 1st sentence the highlighted article.

I saw an interview where this guy talked about his disbelief that he became this famous of a meme.

He’s about 10-15yrs older now than he is in the memes
