Elon Musk is a friend.
1335   Misc   2023 May 20, 8:41am

It would be better if he crossed the Rubicon and demanded that the FBI officials involved would be charged with witness tampering and conspiracy to commit.

Now that would be something, but this is better than nothing.

He is one of them. No one should trust him at all now.

Twitter's purchase is what is called "a limited hangout".

What's a limited hangout?

So when the government is caught doing something really criminal, to make it appear they are less criminal, they will admit limited culpability or take limited punishment.

Minor unimportant people are fired, or removed, to convince you the problem has been fixed, when it hasn't been.

It's to give the appearance there is accountability.

Twitter wasn't really private as a company. It's intelligence and it never took off because the censorship was so obvious on it. Elon is making it seem more credible.

This is one of the scenes from What Is A Woman that Twitter now says is hate speech.

We will still stream the movie here tonight in its entirety at 8 ET. Twitter has the next 12 hours to decide whether they want to be a true free speech platform or not.

1345   AmericanKulak   2023 Jun 1, 8:19pm

UPDATE: New WEF Twitter CEO has disabled almost ALL avenues from liking, sharing, R'T'ing the FREE "What Is A Woman" Documentary.

You can't even "Share" it to Groups you are a member of, or tweet it unless you physically copy the address.

UPDATE TO UPDATE:

Is this a self-coup of Twitter, like when Trump hired Scaramucci to get rid of Rinse Pubics and then quickly fired him (and possibly used him as a double agent, or was he a discarded spy?), or when Erdogan encouraged a coup against himself to oust those disloyal to him?

Elon HAS made comments before about how messed up Twitter Algos, Code, and Server Arrangerments are... I suspect they're messed up on purpose to keep the Woke/WEF disinfo protected as much as possible and prevent actual real debate.

Threads will do as well as Meta.

Basically cat is out of the bag. Companies lied to their users for years, and they are huge and wortess echo chambers.

We've come close a few times way back if I recall but luckily so far no need on patnet for such a bot.

I wouldn't mind having a program screen out pornography so long as I could turn it off. I'd be worried about false positives.

This stuff can be used for good. Years and years ago, somebody claimed to have released a virus that if it found nudity on your computer it would wipe everything. This was back in 2000 or so, today, it's actually reasonably possible.

The New York Sun ran an intriguing story yesterday headlined, “Elon Musk Pledges to Pay Legal Bills of Twitter Users Mistreated for Posting on the Site.”

The Sun’s article referred to a Saturday tweet (or is it “X” now?) by Elon Musk, where he promised to pay the legal bills of anyone mistreated by their employer on account of posting or liking something on Twitter, I mean X...

As you can see, Musk’s tweet garnered over 735,000 “likes” as of this morning. The response has been strong. Nobody yet knows what the rules or criteria are, and no one’s legal bills have been funded so far. But enthusiasm is running high.

What might unfair treatment look like? Here’s one recent example:

According to the related article from Inside Higher Ed, Mark Tykocinski resigned as president of Thomas Jefferson University and as dean of the university’s medical school, after being outed for “liking” tweets critical of coronavirus vaccines, gender-affirmation surgery and college diversity, equity and inclusion offices.

Sounds like my kind of guy. I’d have made him king for life, but apparently the Board of Governors didn’t agree. If he were pressured into resigning, it seems to me that Mr. Tykocinski would be a terrific candidate for some legal assistance from Twitter, sorry, I mean X.

I have no idea what Musk’s goals are, since he didn’t say. But first, even if it was inadvertent, it was a masterful marketing strategy. Even the lack of details is helping as tens of thousands speculate what it could mean. Politico even wrote a hopeful article wondering whether Musk’s offer could drive Twitter out of business. Second, the announcement might make some employers think twice about disciplining employees over their social media activity. And third, it could encourage more people to be bolder in their posts, increasing the amount and interest level of the content.

Who knows? But it’s interesting.

Yet I was banned from Twitter for a third time for suggesting that Fauci, Collins, and Bourla be brought to justice.

@Patrick,

Your problem is that you're retired and hence haven't been persecuted by your employer.
I do agree that there is hypocrisy here - why offer to fund people ($$$) in their struggle, while not banning those opposing "the narrative" (which costs $0) is off the table? Maybe Elon is a limited hangout.
1362   Patrick   2023 Aug 7, 3:07pm

I have been persecuted by previous employers, and excluded from consideration for employment by others:

Twitter is still censoring like mad:

http://yosemitespam.com/pdf/unpublished_blog_post.pdf

Unpublished Blog Post From Deep in the
Information War
July 28, 2023
About a month ago my political account on Twitter was abruptly and
permanently suspended, for “violations of the TOS” with no specific reason
or rationale given. A dozen appeals were greeted with one of two different
bot posts explaining that after further review it was permanent.
Almost all of my politics on social media were limited to that one account.
But now I appear to be shadowbanned across facebook, instagram,
youtube, google and my original twitter account. They’re all connected to
the same phone number, including my now banned account. All of my
google, facebook and twitter accounts are having me log in daily now from
my laptop, using a two-step verification code sent via SMS to my phone. It
wasn’t like this a month ago, I would always stay logged in to all of those
accounts and set my preferences that way.
I had created the political account on twitter during the pandemic, largely so
that I could heckle our power-crazed dictator governor during the
shutdowns. Doing this from my normal social media accounts- which
generally promote my creative work- wasn’t right for my personal brand,
and could also result in professional reprisals against me or my wife, as I
live in a liberal city. That twitter account was based around a cartoon
avatar, used lots of humor, never was abusive, rude or threatening; often I
behaved like an ombudsman. I created hundreds of memes. That account
survived the covid era; the great twitter purge after Jan 6, and both the
2020 and 2022 elections. But it did not long survive the Linda Yaccarino
era at twitter.
Since no reason was given other than ‘violations of the TOS’, I do not know
specifically why my political account on twitter was banned. On my last
day, I had made a fun one-liner at Adam Schiff’s expense that was getting
hundreds of likes; I had made a meme criticizing support for the Ukraine
War, and was promoting RFK Jr.’s run for the Democratic nomination. I
was critical of Congressman Thomas Massie’s reluctance to censure
Schiff. My main guess is that opposing the war effort was my main
thoughtcrime, although the sum of all of those positions shows a dissident
or anti-establishment view. Apparently that is no longer allowed.
The sinking horror is that now my other accounts at google, meta, twitter
which don’t delve into politics- are being shadowbanned.

And if Elon is limited? He can set a bar for minimum standards. And then push that bar.

Socialist Fabianism is a tactic, it can work for either side, just like Defense in Depth or Indirect Tactics

Interesting new Twitter strategy to muffle the voices of truth: you are now forced to click "Show more replies" over and over since they show only 3 replies at a time on super-truthful Tweets like this one: https://twitter.com/Remeece1/status/1642581049925414912

Patrick, I'm telling you, the whole purpose of these companies is to prevent people from sharing information, not allowing good ideas to come forward.

Look around you, just how corrupt is our society now? If people could get honest and good information, it would fall apart. Imagine if the majority of people really understood that all Biden does is sign whatever is put in front of him, in exchange for being above the law and allowing to take bribes all day long? What if people were allowed to know that there's really good evidence Biden wasn't elected? Or allowed to know the US overthrew Ukraine and wanted this war that is now going on? What if they knew that they were lied about Assad gassing his own people?

You've seen me have arguments here over these issues and I either stick to my guns because I know damned well I'm right, or I find out I'm wrong, and stop arguing in favor of my initial thought.

That's the power of the Internet. I've changed my mind on vaccines, I've changed my mind on government, politics, economics, Israel, our wars, everything. I can see corruption in seconds, these giant companies exist ONLY to prevent sharing of information because it will change our nation, for the better, and the people running this nation like it EXACTLY like it is.

What I've discovered is we don't need authorities we don't need experts. I used to think Chomsky was great, but he's an idiot about economics, and he showed himself NOT to be principled when he stated that forced vaccinations should be acceptable. The WHO has been outed as an authoritarian system of control, we delayed a treaty with them which would allow them to dictate lockdowns, and all sorts of crap. Climate Change has been exposed. These people are in a panic. Musk for example depends on the idea that electric cars are less polluting than ICE, and they aren't. We have so many things that these frauds depend on, that as knowledge becomes more widespread, it would be a monumental change.

What's going to happen, is that eventually these giant companies are going to shatter, because smaller ones can do what they PROMISE to do, and don't do.

The US destroyed the USSR by just telling the truth to the people, radio, television, and films and the ability to transport these things and share them killed the USSR. Our society was created by a set of deceptions and it's not hard to prove we're being lied to but you are not allowed to explain this stuff on Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube.

There were BILLIONS of dollars at stake for the "vaccine" manufacturers, DARPA was involved, part of this nonsense was to kill small businesses. We know this NOW, what if we knew about it 3 years ago?

https://boriquagato.substack.com/p/censorship-20-free-speech-not-free

“freedom of speech but not reach” is just a disingenuous way of saying “we will decide what trends, what can be said here, and what people can see.”

and “X” is now back in the truth ministry business because “sure we’ll let you say it, but we’ll also make sure than no one can hear it” is just a more subtle way to play the same nasty game.

and what else would you expect from the denizens or davos?

I was getting that same “freedom of speech but not reach” bullshit justification for censorship from cow-orkers at Craigslist before I left.

Suppressing audience size IS censorship.

Look, the problem isn't that Twitter is doing this shit. That's really not the problem.

The problem is that people didn't know Twitter was doing this shit.

Twitter is replaceable.

I have talked to people here, in Silicon Valley, that deny up and down there is censorship. I had to force them to sit down with a computer with me, let me log into YouTube, pull up my account, and show them my own comments. I then I had to log into a TOR network, pull up the same pages, and show them my comments weren't there.

You have any idea how hard it is to get into an argument over this to such an extent that somebody is so enraged with your accusations, that they will spend 15 minutes to "definitely prove you're full of shit" only to find out you aren't?

Youtube, Facebook, and Twitter ALL CENSOR, and the problem is, people don't fucking know it. It used to be shadow banning was the WORST fucking thing a company could do. "I don't get it, why am I getting no replies?" - there's no warning, you're not told anything, you cannot correct behavior (if you actually have bad behavior), you have no idea what you've done, just nobody can see what you've said. This is considered REASONABLE to do by Google, Twitter, and Facebook.

These are easily replaced companies.

Musk is an Offense Contractor, he works for intelligence. He was brought into give the appearance of free speech, not to implement it. They don't even try very hard, the CEO of Twitter is now Linda Yaccarino, who is a former asshole from the WEF, and previously worked for NBC Universal.
