It doesn't matter if he planned it 2 weeks before, or decided to kill people once he took his right on East Main Street. It doesn't even matter if it's 1st or 2nd degree. He's done in society permanently. He killed 6 people and injured over 40. He's out of society permanently.
Unfortunately that’s not necessarily the case.
Fact of the matter is that when this dude gets his day in court, state of mind and what the prosecution can prove will be the factors that will decide whether he stays in prison for 5-50 years or if he stays in prison for the rest of his life.
I will concede that politics have become way too involved in the judicial system but that’s a separate matter from what kind of crime a defendant gets convicted of and what sentence is received
