BULLSHIT!!! You don't' need AI to figure out Bin Packing, or the most efficient use of space, or most efficient routes.
I have been writing such applications ever since Visual Basic 5. I have even done it using Javascript.

You absolutely AI to do chip and board routing, not really AI, it's evolutionary algorithms called simulated annealing. It's just one of the methods.

It's not like you have a couple hundred or thousand things to connection, you nave millions. Timing can be a problem.

Nothing I've seen approaches something I'd consider living. They are clever, but they aren't motivated except for the one problem they are asked to solve, they can't think, they're not curious. We have made no progress in making a thinking machine. What we've made are not lifeforms at all.

We thought that we were meat machines. We use a SMALL portion of our brain for consciousness. We're digital, did you know that, either a neuron fires or doesn't fire. We might get expert systems that can do incredibly well in planning. We actually probably have AI that is safer to drive a car than a typical human being now. We've had a handful of fatal accidents. We have them all the time with people. What's the percentage?

I think it's possible our general assumption of what constitutes consciousness and awareness, is fundamentally wrong - but I don't know. My computer has more storage, literally, than my brain does. It should be able to think, if the entire HDD could be used for data storage, and the computer chip for simulating neurons one at a time. If somebody could code it of course. We can't seem to do this.

I think some people ARE machines now BTW. I'm going the other way. Some people, they are just puppets. I don't hate them, I won't kill them because of it, I have a difficult time taking advantage of them because my moral programming prevents it, but they're literally machines more than they are people. System destroyed them. ALL the time, I hear people repeating what I recognize to be propaganda, marketing phrases, and they are totally unaware of it. Remember "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat's uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup?" I heard that over and over and over again, and I have no idea what was even being marketed, and I never want to know. I bet most people repeating it didn't know. I've heard "weapons of mass destruction" and "Putin attacked Ukraine for no reason at all" and "Qaddafi is about to cause a humanitarian crisis! We HAVE to intervene!!" without a hint that they spent even a second thinking about what they are saying. Robots, meat machines.

Whether we are machines or not, I don't know, but I can tell you that the people at the top think we are, and I doubt they think THEY are.

Fine maybe a 15min Monday chat, but hour or two long meetings multiple times a week is absolute bullshit. My wife generally works from home. She puts her meetings on speaker. I want to take her phone and dropkick it into a pond. It takes away time from her generating sales. The idiots on the other end of the phone I want to punch their throat so they can't talk because they're so dumb. They can't do her job and they just talk about her job. They don't even have a fucking job without her.

It's why I could never do a corporate job. I'd just skip the meetings and probably get fired. Just keep it to quarterly meetings that are longer and stick to short meeting to "check in" at the beginning of the week and let people work.
