Well, looks like Twitter is calming down and getting back to the normal stuff:

New Kentucky school bus routes a 'disaster,' prompts class cancellation as last kids arrive home at 10 pm some soaked in urine.

They need Patrick to chart out the route like he does for grocery stores.
21   HeadSet   2023 Nov 6, 6:25am

Odd, since routing algorithms are a mature technology and several companies rent product out by the month, cheap. Must be something like a severe driver shortage combined with a large area district. Or the route was done by a Buttigieg style hire.

And in Frozen 4, it will be revealed that they are trans. Just a guess.

AI isn't that bad, programmers are that bad.

A good programmer would never try to sell you their better algorithm as "Artificial" or "Intelligent".

AI is not here to help nor is the 20,000 person troll farm that curates and censors the content.

I used to never lock my manual car. I knew no one could drive it... lol. The people that "could" steal/drive it weren't the type to steal cars. Lets put it that way.

5 years ago the 'claim' that she was a mechanic wouldn't hold water with me either.

Now that we have DEI, however...

I always tell people who are concerned that their popular car might be a target, "The greatest antitheft device for vehicles is the manual transmission."

That doesn't help hybrid, EV, AT, CVT.

Holy fuck! I've been bitching about this FOREVER. Not here necessarily. Talking about work is not work. You have a job, do your fucking job. You should know what to do and not talk about it with other people that can't do your job. If you suck, you get fired.

Fine maybe a 15min Monday chat, but hour or two long meetings multiple times a week is absolute bullshit. My wife generally works from home. She puts her meetings on speaker. I want to take her phone and dropkick it into a pond. It takes away time from her generating sales. The idiots on the other end of the phone I want to punch their throat so they can't talk because they're so dumb. They can't do her job and they just talk about her job. They don't even have a fucking job without her.

It's why I could never do a corporate job. I'd just skip the meetings and probably get fired. Just keep it to quarterly meetings that are longer and stick to short meeting to "check in" at the beginning of the week and let people work.

Might just go in a speedo for fun. We'll see the temps. I don't need the town seeing shrinkage though if it's cold.

I am going at 6am though before the losers wake up. I might try to vote for other people.... lol. I know illegal. I might though is all I'm saying. Hair is long, go get a cut and vote again. Then shave and vote again. Geezers run my polling place, I could easily pull it off. 3 votes. And I know the idiots in town not voting.

Biggest key is dragging the elderly out or voting for them. Not a joke. I'm not leaving the country, but I won't live under a Harris presidency. Shit will happen. SHE WASN'T EVEN FUCKING ELECTED TO RUN!

Probably. I wouldn't do it along a highway, but I dump and run at construction sites somewhat frequently. Always keep a roll in the car.

That was a display of straight up shitty driving by the pickup truck.

Why doesn't it work? Tracks for high speed trains too expensive to build?

Economically and just practically, the math doesn't work.

Just like there isn't a thriving bush plane sector in Europe & Japan, but there is in Alaska, Australia, Canada & parts of Brazil & Africa.

It's about population square densities per unit of geography you need transportation across. See bush plane regions per above. For HST, see Japan, Eastern China and Europe.

It can thus be used in certain high pop density corridors in the US. Like Florida, BoshWash, California and Texas. But new rail separate from the existing freight-based system are needed in each case. And that involves right-of-way purchases that can be horrendously expensive.

And, then there is the competence issue. Nuff said.

You're right with population density. Even then every town/city is going to want a stop along the way. If I take a one way flight to say San Diego, but have to stop in St. Louis, Omaha, Denver and Salt Lake City then San Diego, is that efficient? Fuck no. That's what train travel is bad even if they go 400mph. And they'll want more stops to generate revenue.

It could work in the Northeast. Freight takes precedent over passenger as well. Makes new lines and land acquisition expensive AF. Plus if anything is within 5 hours just drive at that point. Large cities going 200mph are 50 miles apart in Europe. So it makes sense.

Perfect example. I want to go to St. Louis from Chicago. 5 hour drive. I have to drive an hour (best case) into the city. Pay parking. A non-stop train will still take 4 hours. I'm 6-8 hours deep at least. I'll just drive or could fly in 3 hours with 50 minutes in the air.

And from what I know of California I don't even know that it makes sense there. I'm surprised FL is doing it. But if they keep it along the east coast Miami to Jacksonville it kind of makes sense. You have 5-8 logical stops that would be better than driving or flying. But still, I don't think most Americans if traveling are going to want to travel in their own state.

I'm on a plane going somewhere 90% and 10% driving to WI, MI, IN or MO. Iowa is gay. I'd maybe take a sleeper car train trip in Alaska in the summer. I wish Southwest flew up there instead of Hawaii. They need one flight into Guam for sure though.

On the other hand, trains usually go right into the center of town so you save time there.

The train problem is the grifter towns. They want a stop. So fine, it goes fast, but has to stop every 20 miles. If you can get me to St. Louis or Minneapolis with no stops at 300mph, let's go. Not happening in the US. I also don't trust on grade crossings with cars/trucks.

People freak out about flying. Fuck trains. I'm not going to hit a semi in the sky. I get fears of height from some people, but it's the safest travel. Think about a derailed train going that fast. Everyone is dead. Some of those being miserable deaths. At least a plane crash is generally instant death.
