The Dallas Express visited Rep Kay Granger’s office in Texas and the place was locked and abandoned. The glass was covered up and there was nobody in sight. Her phone lines went directly to voicemail.
Her last vote was in July and she’s been “missing” since then.
Staffers were probably trying to keep their paychecks; Abbott would have appointed somebody else who brought in their own team, and then a special election.
Also, there's no way donors and other congressmen wouldn't have known something was up, looking for her vote on some pork.
I've said it in other threads, we need age limits on the top end. Even if lucid at 80 you're definitely not as smart as a 40 year old. You have life knowledge more than a younger person, but the younger person is more in tune with what's going on right now and the main demographic you're representing.
Somehow Trump has kind of defied that, but still wish there was a cap on age for any office. We have age limits on the younger end. I actually think it would get bipartisan support. Younger Congress Critters have to work with some of these elderly people. AOC is a young bimbo but she's better than Pelosi and that's saying a lot.
I'd say 70 is the cut off. You could be 74 or 76 at the end of your term for POTUS or Senate, but it's over after that. Can't run again. Fact is they get a pension and the best health care in retirement. They could still be political lobbyist or political media pundits if they want work after. So it's not like they can't get work or would go broke.
She did not run for reelection. BTW, should the average 18-21 y/o be able to vote? Most of them don’t pay any attention to politics. In fact I think a person, no matter what the age be required to take a basic test showing a knowledge of WTF is going on. If you are in your 80s and pass the test, your vote or place in congress is welcome.

She was just found in a dementia care facility.
